Great result. Don't think it'll be enough, but still it's a lot more positive than I expected.

I'd have taken that before kick off. But I'm disappointed we didn't win all the same after how well we played. Enjoyable game.

Decent plan by Klopp but feel they could have done with another away goal.
We'll see next week. I hope Liverpool progress btw

No atmosphere in England comes close to this. Anfield isn't anywhere near but neither is the Emirates or Old Trafford or w/e.

100% seated is shit for the atmosphere. Simple as that.
who's fault is that?

I thought we were superb tactically. Kept their best players relatively quiet. Having said that, we really could have done with one more away goal. No way we will keep Dortmund from scoring at Anfield, although Sakho and Lovren were immense today.

Indeed they got it spot on and apart from one or two scares and that goal conceded, they coped with them beautifully. I was hoping Origi would start ahead of Sturridge in this one and good to see Klopp agreed with me ( :p ) as the latter can go missing in games for long periods and I thought Origi would give their defense a few thoughts when they were playing out the back and into midfield, and for him to get a goal as well was the icing on the cake. I would've took a 2 - 1 defeat prematch but to be technically ahead in the tie going into the Anfield leg is a bonus. A proper European performance of old, that.

Dortmund will score in Liverpool, they are too good not to, so we will need another big performance once again, but after that display I am confident of them giving it a real go, and who knows, they might just about do it! :D

Only henderson was poor in terms of attack imo but did his defensive duty well until taken off at HT due to injury. You could see lots of gaps in the midfield when Joe Allen came on.

Happy with the result, should of had a couple more with Origi and Lovren missing some good chances, I'd have taken a score draw before the game.

Still have Dortmund as favourites though.

Lovren is a completely different player next to Sakho.

Well I'll be honest, I'm impressed. I thought (as others did) that Liverpool would be torn to shreds. They got an away goal, and playing at home in the second leg can now be used to their advantage IF they can keep a clean sheet.

If they try and sit back at Anfield, Dortmund will inevitably break through, if they go looking for a goal then again Dortmund will exploit the space left.

At least we've reminded world football that the Premier League isn't that much of a joke, and I think this went some way to fixing what damage Spurs had done representing our League in Europe.

Basically, well done Liverpool.

Spurs haven't been as bad this season at representing England as Arsenal have for the past twenty years. Need to look a bit closer to home there me thinks Chapel. :fish:

Was just starting to play like we know he can though. Oh well it could mean he may come back 100pc for next season hopefully.

Who was the first and last English team to win away at Dortmund? I'll give you a belter of a clue, Yaya Sanogo scored the first goal. Clue number 2, it wasn't Palace or Charlton. :ds:

Can't believe people were actually predicting Dortmund to win by scores as high as 5-0! Ha, this is Liverpool in Europe we are talking about here, not fucking Spurs

Thought the pre-game predictions of Dortmund walking this were a bit odd considering Klopp coached most of these players just a season ago. If anyone can game-plan for Dortmund, it's Klopp. Liverpool are dangerous enough to play on the counter and win this tie. Still I fancy Dortmund to claw one back here. 1-1 would be a great result to take back to Anfield.

My comment was at half-time, how odd. He managed this team last year.

And I got the full-time prediction spot on. :conf:

Yeah well before the match when everyone were predicting a Dortmund win you were nowhere to be seen. Then you claimed it was "a bit odd" after we've performed our best half of the season.

Definitely hindsight.

I'm sorry for not making my prediction in this thread before the game to validate you. Here's my betting slip as the game had just started:

No matter guys. Dortmund will win the return 5-0.

Not sure if I mentioned this earlier in the thread but I thought Dortmund were poor.
