We haven't been all that great this season if we are honest with ourselves. The footballs been very poor to watch and founded on a solid defence and nicking the odd goal, if we concede we're in big trouble. Basically the way try to win games leaves very little margin for error.

If you live in the fine margins and nicking games, you'll probably end up losing a fair few games by the fine margins as well.

It's what you get for being overly confident cocky bastards.

Since the "Luton train has left the station" it was obviously going to come and bite you on the arse and make you look stupid.

Not that you'll find any sympathy

Many Luton fans realised we were overachieving early and turning a ton of close games/draws into wins. Have to admit I didn't expect the wheels to come off so badly as they have last few weeks - but considering everything most are happy to be in the spot we are.

I do notice you love a pop at Luton every chance you get Adam and seem to tar all Luton fans with your dark views.

For those slow off the mark Oakroader is renowned wind up merchant and funnily enough used to snag a ton of Stags in the old days on Blue Square forums too..........

Did he?

I remember how easily LOLton got wound up when we won the championship and you didn't make the playoffs.

That miekle winner to win 3-2 at the kennel set off a mini riot of Luton fans. Bless

Not every team can come back up and piss the division like we did in 2005-2006.

Just think yourselves lucky you're comfortable in your first season back up, unlike Cambridge.

We are officially a one-man team judging by these stats:

With Nathan Doyle - W12 D8 L2 - 2 points per game - best in league
Without Nathan Doyle - W4 D2 L9 - 0.93 points per game - 23rd best in league

Mental that one player can be so influential but the stats paint a pretty clear picture. His signing made our season - his injury has fecked it.

Oakroader is a known "tongue in cheek" poster. I wouldn't prescribe his posts as the thoughts of most Luton fans or let it bother you too much...

For vast majority of Luton fans we have performed at or above expectation this season. Just a little disappointing that we seem to be letting a promising season slip away a bit.

Certainly no disaster that we might not go up, considering that I think we would be prime candidates to come back down straight away without huge changes that I'm not sure would be good long term. In prett happy building a solid foundation here.

Anyway we are still in the playoff hunt yet! But i honestly can't say I'd be too upset if we didn go up via them or even missed them altogether.

Its called jealously. Nothing new.

No, it's just when you are big-headed and come across as you are going to win everything and threads like "the train has left the station" don't help the cause.

Poor attempt of a wind-up it might have been, but when you so consistently put your head out there, when you fuck up and fail it's going to come back and bite you on the arse.

If you just went about the business quietly and got on with it like normal teams, there wouldn't be such posts.

All quite simple really :)

Thought luton looked a good side this year, far far better than when i saw them in the conference, But couldn't work out how that fat lump was in the team every week in a top table side, McNulty amazes me hahaha

Luton will either kick on and go up in the next few years of become that team in the conference that were forever favourites to win it but always disappointing finishing no where.

poor attempt at a wind up?? i think its been far more than that judging by the reaction of a few inbreds up north?? its achieved banter and responses that have encouraged dialogue and mixed opinions as intended!!! some people are a bit too precious and sensitive i reckon!!

Well it was more transparent than glass. So indeed it was poor. It was a good chuckle though, especially as the continuing joke is on Luton

I agree with Adam, it's a poor attempt at a wind up as its only got under the skin of one person....

I have to say I don't see the point of WUMing on a forum. It has to be one of the saddest traits of any member of a poster - trying to get bites out of people online. Nice one......

Luton are a good team now - well better than they were 2/3 years ago!

Think its harsh for their fans to be too critical of their season so far.

Ok they have had a bad run but still in the top 7 I think.

Because after so many meetings in the last few years, Luton fans are used to the feel of our most recent erection?

Love our losers?

That's usually their theme at field mill (where they have never won in the league)

Tbf, Super horns is correct, you're certainly better now than 2/3years ago. You're not playing the likes of Braintree or Welling anymore so it's a no-brainer. He's also probably right about the fans being too critical but that depends on whatever the clubs aspirations were. Note I said club not fans - fans nearly always demand promotion. If the club's target back in August was auto promotion then yes, it's a tad disappointing, but if the aim was for a comfortable season back in the league, then the season's on course.

I believe results will pick up and you'll make the p-o's this year, but if you don't go up then I would think you'll be in a much stronger position next year to challenge for a top 3 finish.

Personally speaking, it's not the losing that's the issue, it's the way that we are doing it. There seems to have been a massive change of approach from last season. A massive squad with a whole host of development players out on loan. Far too many central midfielders, but the central issue of not scoring not really being addressed. Players who barely deserve a place in the reserves being automatic choices. Horrible hoofball tactics despite most of our players being much better with the ball at their feet (does anyone else still kick the ball straight into touch from the kick-off?). Aimless long balls in the vague direction of a lone forward. A mang
I know that we have had a whole season with a large number of players who would be automatic choices out injured, but that does not excuse the dross that has been served up this season - even when we were winning most weeks the football was poor.

Your first season back in the football league and you're in the play offs with 9 games to go. With all due respect, you don't want to go up this season, you're not ready. Still will see you right.
