Very sad news just come in from the High Court. Not sure at this stage if this is the end? But doesn’t sound good at all.

So is this a winding up order or the final bullet?

Stockport County.
I remember when Macclesfield Town used to think they were our rivals. Was creepy as fuck at the time.

Feel for their fans, another shit owner driving a club into the ground.

So So Sad
Really feel for the fans for obvious reasons.
Was a creaking awayday as well
Look forward to the Phoenix version appearing and we will meet again.

From what I can deduce it's not quite it, as they have been granted an extension. That being said, if they aren't dead that's just about the last breath...

Least you've still got your Xmas fixtures.

In all seriousness though this is awful news. Used to love a Macclesfield away day, even though we'd always get pumped. Hope they can find a way back up soon.

No, the current owner asked for another 8 week adjournment, but wasnt granted it

hopefully something can happen with a phoenix club and it all gets sorted for next season a la Bury

No they were looking for an extension, but believe this is the high court giving them the bullet.
Really sad news

Wound up, club no longer exists. 23 teams in the NL now, any phoenix would have to enter in 2021-22 unless the NWCL are feeling very generous.

What a pile of crap.

Feel for the fans. There but for sheer dumb luck goes a lot of clubs at this level.

Rebuild and get back soon.

Yet another club suffers at the hands of a crook. Hopefully they'll come back in one form or another and the fans can still take enjoyment from football.

R.I.P Macclesfield.
Such sad news, what pisses me off is the fact all sky can talk about is gareth bale whose weekly wage could save macclesfield.
Unfortunately this is why the efl fucked them over so they didnt have to deal with it.

Wish macc fans all the best hopefully a new club can be formed a rise through the leagues.

Any other clubs hear the name Benwell being banded about in connection be afraid, very afraid.
Jack Ryan is another shark swimming in polluted waters where football clubs are concerned.

Very sorry to hear this, one of my favourite away days though never saw Rovers win there. Hope that Macc can rise again.

Hopefully neither are involved in our potential investors then!

Hopefully there is enough appetite to start a Phoenix club, long way back but at least they will be free of toxic owners.

Ollie Bayliss on Twitter is suggesting this may mean a reprieve for Ebbsfleet.

Sad for Macc, had some good battles with them and its a great away day.

Always the local people, employees and fans who suffer in these situations, also pretty bad for John Askey as thats an awful lot of money for a private individual to be owed, especially when not in the higher levels of football.

I'd be very surprised if this happens. I'd expect there to be one less relegation place again this season.

Sad news. Always liked an away day at Macc. Hopefully they'll bounce back.

Surely admin is an option before simply accepting the order? Winding-up orders against clubs aren't uncommon

Probably because HMRC are the biggest creditor and they go for winding up.

Too late now. Alkhadi has had endless chances.

Fuck that’s awful, I knew things were bad but didn’t expect it to completely end the club.

Really hope they can get a Phoenix up and running as soon as possible.

Sad news

Saw it sitting alongside the Bale transfer on SSN, sad that a weeks wages for him is probably what would have kept Macc going. At the same time, their crooked owners don't deserve to be propped up by others handouts - it's the local people & community that suffer most.
