Shame. The league 2 forum is ok apart from one or two obvious ones who think they are beneath themselves and a few weird southerners. Do you know anything about a player called Jack Young. Just joined us on loan from Newcastle. Midfield.

No idea mate, sorry. If it's any use though, we took Lewis Cass a defender from Newcastle U23s for the season. Never played a senior game before and he plays like he's had 100 games under his belt. Think they've got some good players kicking about.

Good enough. Cover for Jay Spearing probably, because he isnt going to go a whole season without getting suspended.

Stockport County.
Why didn't he step in when Alkhadi was running it into the ground?
With his idea of implementing a 4G pitch, I think he's happy for them to start quite low down the pryamid.

Yeah the club has to become a community hub again. I'm really not a fan of 4G but needs must and if it brings in a load more revenue then I'll live with it. Of course the dream is that in a number of years time we'll have to rip it up again.

Not an update as such but just wanted to say how absolutely ecstatic I am about how thing are going at the club, even at this very early stage. In the space of a week Rob Smethurst and Robbie Savage have spoken to the supporters more times then Amar ever did and it's so refreshing to see. There's barely a single newspaper or broadcaster that Robbie hasn't spoken to yet which is fantastic for raising the profile of the new club. They've both already got involved with the youth team which bodes well for football in the community as a whole.

There's been lots of consultation with the fans on the branding of the new club - personally I want continuity with the old club but even if we end up with a shite looking new badge, it's still great to see fans being given lots of input and creative freedom to shape the club just the way we want it.

There's still a long wait before we can see the team back in action but with such a feelgood factor around the place, I can already tell the next few years are going to be an absolute blast. Clearing out the deadwood but keeping Danny Whitaker on board was a very shrewd move from the owners and it will bring the fans flocking back in their thousand(s). It's been over a year since I last set foot in the Moss Rose due to the old regime, but next season I'll be back in a heartbeat.

In Rob and Robbie I trust. Onward and upwards!

Was Alkhadi a one-man band or were there other directors?

What exactly did he get out of being the club chairman

Basically just him. Mark Blower got under a few people's skin as chairman but I think he had the club's best interests at heart most of the time.

Amar was allegedly using the club as a cash cow for his main business. Or at the very least moving money between his different businesses, including the club, with no regard for paying wages or bills on time. He was willing to sell up (or so he said) but only for a very steep price. Glad to be rid of him now and look towards the future.

Does this thread now need merging with the Tinpot thread?

"SINCE 2020", surely? Don't start giving us all that Quakerz nonsense

If it was D's design, but with the numbers/nickname from B, then it'd be great

Can't tell you how proud I am of my club, in being pathfinders for the modern fashion for going bust and coming back through Hell, wrapped in victimhood and glory. It's quite the done thing now. :ds:
