Disappointing Newcastle line-up. No Shearer, no Solano, Given not even on the bench.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Oh good. 10 men behind the ball for 90 minutes for a change.

I know City lost last weekend, but at least it made a bit of a change from the same bus parking every week.

United fans said the same when they were good.

Newcastle's tactic of giving Man City so many corners they run out of ideas is beginning to pay off.

Unfortunately for Newcastle, unlike our game last weekend, the referee fell for Sterling's dive.

diame scaring the shit out of a 200 million quid defence is definitely one of the more amusing sights of the football season

The difference between £100m and £10m net spend a season in the last 5 years. City have been pretty shit all things considered.

Big positive about today is Murphy looking confident. He has ability, but often is too hesitant or runs down blind alleys. I'm pretty happy to have him and Atsu on the wings, it would just be so darn nice to have a suitable, Premier League quality striker betwen them.

Yes! Silkyman has grown some bollocks at last. You go for it boy.

The difference is our spend isn't from a highly questionable and immoral source.

Get off your high horse. I'm sure we've all tortured a dissident or incarcerated a homosexual in our time.

Getting back to football for a moment.......

It's become pretty clear that City are so vastly superior in all departments to teams like Newcastle right now that they... and other opponents... are left with little choice but to dig in with everybody behind the ball and try to dog it out in the hope of nicking a goal late enough in the game to be able to defend it to the final whistle. This sort of tactic isn't pretty too watch, doesn't do opponents much credit and seldom works but what option do they have..?

They can't take a team like City on in an open match because they'd be obliterated. I don't resent Manchester City for using the spending power at their disposal. Hey, if Newcastle had those kind of resources they'd do the same and their fans would cheer them to the rafters for it. Would they feel sorry the have-nots...? I don't think so.

City fans are enjoying their time as top dogs..... Goodness knows it's been a long time coming. They had to suck it up to United for a bloody long time so a bit of payback for this V

is long overdue in the Premier League...... 4 is becoming 5.... 5 becomes 6....... 6 becomes...

What goes around, comes around.

Getting back to the fun for a moment...

Silky literally just had a go at a team whose eleven was comprised entirely of players plying their trade in the Championship last season for not being swashbuckling against City's billions.

What!?

Also, can I ask why Aguero is being credited with a hatrick when it was blatantly obvious to anyone with vision that he made absolutely zero contact to De Bruyne's ball?

To be fair, I did say that Newcastle had little choice but to play the way they did at Eastlands. If you read what I wrote, I think I was actually quite sympathetic towards them, but the general tenor that the thread was taking on was one of - in my opinion - unfair criticism of Manchester City for having the temerity to take advantage of their good fortune to build a very good team. I also suggested that if the boot were on the other foot, Newcastle would do exactly the same and their fans would approve of it wholeheartedly.

I've noticed this in football..... Fans of one club will criticise another for doing things they themselves would do without any qualms whatsoever if they had the opportunity. I just don't get that. It isn't in my sporting DNA.

As for Silky's comment about Newcastle's approach to the game, he was responding to a number of posts which appear to be quite critical of his team.... and most supporters finding their club being hit on just because they had the bare faced cheek to go out and (deservedly) win the match might do the same.

Come on guys.... it's turning into a school playground. Let's establish a few basic points so we can all turn back into grown ups again.

1. Manchester City are filthy rich with Arab lucre. They can afford a big squad full of talented players. That's a given.
2. They're the best team in the league right now by a distance.
3. They're probably (most likely) going to win the Premier League this season.
4. If it was your club doing it, you'd be going large too.
5. As it is, other clubs have to try to frustrate them by whatever means possible within the rules.
6. City have to accept this and find a way to overcome it.

I think that just about sums it up, really.

I didn't read your post, I just saw that you'd mentioned getting back to the football whereas I preferred the Silky-baiting avenue of discussion.

Oh, you bad boy. <Laughing>. Silky baiting is the order of the day, is it..?

Oh well, if it's his turn in the chair, then game on.
