Going into this from I'm seeing a lost of optimism from United fans we are going to win comfortably or crush them.

I just want to say one thing.

There is no chance United are going to win this comfortably and anyone who thinks we will is a fucking idiot.

This will be a City win, they always turn up against United. and with the players they have they'll clinch the victory. I'll plump for 3-1.

I think City will step up and win this. They didn't actually play that badly against Burnley, and Aguero/Silva are due a big game.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Do you think Psycho harbours a bit of resentment there?

Interesting that one of the few City players he puts in there is Hart, when most people accept that DDG is probably the best in the country (and pretty much the main reason United are even in a top four spot). Anything to do with who actually signed him, you think?

This game will be tough to call. City losing will be better for us since we are a point closer to them than United.

Great way to end the weekend, Man City will be desperate to get out of this poor run of form and Man Utd are looking good recently.

I will go for a entertaining 4-3 win to Man Utd.

I think this will be a 2-2 draw. Current form and home advantage suggest that United should edge the game, but I think City will step it up a level today and do enough to match United.

I don't think United are as secure in the top 4 as everyone thinks. They could quite easily lose this and at Chelsea next week, meanwhile Liverpool have 2 easy matches which they will win and then the gap is down to 2 points. Saying that, a win today for United would almost clinch it I reckon. They could afford a defeat at Chelsea then.

City are still capable of blowing United away, Aguero usually steps up in this game.

You must have enjoyed the last four, United fans have much more reason to fear them going on recent history. Hopefully we'll turn that round today but I'm not massively confident.

De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Smalling, Blind, Carrick, Mata, Herrera, Fellaini, Young, Rooney

4141 again with Smalling in for Rojo. Happy with that.

Amazing turnaround for Fellaini this year.

Strong sides, though Navas getting in so regular seems odd given his lack of quality so far.
Saying that he really suffers from teams sitting back, and as Utd won't be doing that he may well get some joy today.

Was worried that Van Gaal would not put Smalling back in the team due to his dislike of having two right footers playing CB

I would have been tempted to play DI Maria too, Young is playing well but his one goal and one assist shows he's not really good enough. With the team no longer needing a hero I think Di Maria will be less wasteful. He did well last week against Villa. Can't complain too much though.

Navas isn't great but he can obliterate Blind for pace, thats a worry.

Why not play Fernando with Fernandinho and play Silva right with Yaya behind Aguero? Less width I guess but gives fullbacks licence to get forward cos the CBs have better cover, and Toure is better relied on to attack than defend.

I enjoy city winning them! I hate the build up and the games.. At least until City are out of sight.. So the last five minutes of the 6-1 and that's about it.

Di Maria, Falcao, and Rojo on the bench. Some transfer disappointment there. Particularly when you remember Luke Shaw exists.

Di Maria yes but Falcao was a punt on a loan. Rojo I don't think was ever bought with the intention of being a definite first choice this year. We just badly needed another CB due to all out existing ones being crocks. For the money we paid he has more than justified himself and will continue to be an important squad member at CB and FB.

I'm not sure why you continue to push this failure in the transfer market bollocks.

As I said in the last post you didn't reply too short of paying 10-15 m too much for Di MAria and swapping Welbeck for an on loan Falcao Van Gaal did as well this summer.. Overall he did about as well as could be expected given the circumstances.

Edit - Actually on second thoughts I'm probably doing your post a little disservice there. I'm just sick of the narrative on Van Gaal being solely about the money spent. Falcao and Di Maria are undoubtedly disappointments.
