Not good from us. Naive in midfield and defence. Sloppy and wasteful with the ball. Thank fuck we're at home next week.

Disappointing result but not the end of the world. We're just conceding too many sloppy goals , we're creating and scoring enough so I ain't concerned.

Agree not too concerning yet.
We totally dominated and crated loads of chances.
Had 2 goals disallowed for tight offside decisions.
Gillingham hardly attacked, had 1 corner and had 2 shots on target but still manged to score 2 goals. Defensively very sloppy

Tough game on Tuesday too against 4th in the league so a win will be a massive result. But no doubt our bell end fans won't realise that and go entirely on the fact were a far bigger club than fleetwood. It means fuck all sooner people realise that the better.

Superb and unexpected 4-0 win at Rochdale. Could have been more if Radio Oxford is to be believed.

Best comment on radio commentary along the lines of "the most worrying moment for Simon Eastwood was finding a dead rodent in the goal"

Wow. I hate being one of those fans who disregards the opposition so straight away fair play Oxford. Best team and won, comfortably.

But fuck me that was abject. I haven't seen us play as bad since the last relegation season from League 1. Woeful. Our usually solid keeper was shit. He cost us 3 goals alone from his errors.

Left when the 4th went in. Went to a pub 1/4 mile from the ground to be surrounded by plastic United fans shouting at the telly. They even had the cheek to say they were loyal fans for watching united trail for most of the game.
Half of the thick c*** thought United won the game not drew. I heard "can't wait to watch MOTD , always better when "we" win" and "Rooney had a great winner" God I fucking hate plastic fans, even more so on a day like today.

But yeah. Fair play Oxford. You did the business.

Our game with Scunny is off.

Embarrassing.

Magennis injured, Novak and Holmes not ready, no available centre halves and the covers have conveniently been left off after a week of freezing temperatures. Stinks of a shocking act of gamesmanship.

Additionally, after the regime have talked bollocks about the money they've spent, including undersoil heating it turns out it's actually lies, the pipes are installed but the actual heating system isn't.

Disgrace all round.

Sick of this club.

Your club was under no obligation to use the undersoil heating, even if you had it. No requirement to use covers either. Interestingly, Charlton called Friday morning to call the game off. It seems no effort at all was being made to get the game on, which with all the injuries you are reporting as having does raise an eyebrow. If the pitch was unfit to play as deemed by the referee, then that is what counts in the rules though. There must be something climatically unique about the location of your ground, as I understand a nearby non-league fixture was on.

We would have been missing our two main strikers, Madden & Van Veen, plus our first choice centre back, left back and central midfielder through injuries and suspension. I'm hoping we get to full strength when we come down to your place again. We are going to need it, as we haven't fared well against you in the league and cup so far this season.

Some plastic fans crack me up. I have a few at work who have never even really heard of Rovers and only watch the Premier League. When I say that I've actually been to hundreds of games they seem in awe all of a sudden. I ask if they've ever been and always the reply is, no its too expensive. Joke of a comment when I pay £18 to stand behind the goal at Rovers but someone who has "supported" a team for 15 years has never been because £40 is too much...

Can't comment on the game today, but strikes me as another example of how inefficient we are. Because we bypass the midfield we have to play on the break, but that means that we're almost always playing to the tempo of the other team. It's why we invariably don't beat the better sides. I like Harris, and without him it's arguable that we don't have Fred, O'Brien or a host of the youth that have come through over the past couple of seasons, and we almost certainly don't have a passionate and hungry Morison, but his poor tactics waste the talent that we have in attack. With a few tweaks, we're genuine auto promotion challengers, but the way things are going I can see us finishing outside the play-offs. Maybe only marginally, but that still isn't good enough.

100% disagree. We don't hog the ball, but we did play some lovely stuff through midfield yesterday.

Your midfield got absolutely dominated yesterday. I'm not sure what game you were watching.

Millwall are unlike any other side at this level, you look bang average for 95% of the game but then have the players to just whittle a goal out of nothing. I agree with Jockney that with a bit of tweaking you'd be auto contenders.

Don't confuse possession with domination.
We've been there with Holloway, painfully slow build up play that goes nowhere and ends back at your keeper or a tame shot from distance when you run out patience.
Yesterday was another classic case of a team with more numbers in midfield but no real strikers, a curse of modern football. Lots of the ball, but all pedestrian in front of a defence all back in position. It does work some of the time with a bit of individual brilliance or defensive mistake, but give me two strikers who work well together.
The point to Jockney is an ongoing one within Millwall circles between those who don't go too many games (IMHO) who have witnessed some games where we were all long ball earlier in the season and perhaps those who have seen more games witnessing the mixed game we play trying to get it forward a bit quicker and then out wide then playing.
We do tend to sit deep defending a lead, but I've seen how that draws the opposition out and us hit them on the counter in the space left.

We've obviously seen the game differently. We had you on the ropes at the end and had almost 3 times as many shots as you yesterday. You are right that we struggle to put the ball in the net though but I could have told you that before yesterday.

Shots? Looked more like passes to our keeper. Honestly you really did look a stereotypical impotent 'footballing' team that has no real threat upfront. As for on the ropes, if you really believe that you came anywhere close to sustained pressure, its brainwashing from a few seasons of tepid football. (This is from being there and buying the Holloway T-shirt)
Obviously you are doing alright this season, but lowest scorers in the top 10 tells a tale. Most of the game our defenders just marked your players up and waited for possession to be given back up, picking your pockets etc, but not diving in.

Your point was that our midfield didn't dominate yours and we didn't create much, but if we got 22 shots off to your 8 then it tells a different story.

Make no arguments about the fact we don't score enough but bizarre to suggest your midfield went toe to toe with ours yesterday. And I think your players and most of your fans will have been relieved to hear the final whistle. Anyway all the best for the season.

Based on some of the reptiles that post on our Facebook fans site I can't really argue with that statement!

To be fair I'm not convinced half of them are Swindon fans.

As for yesterday, all too predictable after a good away win. We offered next to nothing, which in fairness was only just less than Peterborough who were slightly less inept than we were.

Oh well, always good to go into two Derby matches on such good form :ffs:

Nope, my point was we played 'some lovely stuff through midfield' in a counter to someone who wasn't there moaning about long ball football, I never brought up dominance which was your description, except to say don't confuse possession with that. As for your 22 'shots', at least half of them wouldn't have been a threat in wheelchair football.
As neither of us see enough of each other's team to really know how the other has played all season, our opinions are subjective and biased, but a couple of fundamentals from last season still seem to apply. You are a team of few goals relying on edging low scoring games, we are a team that absorbs pressure, at our best when we score first and let the opposition come onto us with Morison and Gregory doing their thing.
Anyway, good luck to you as well for the rest of season, possibly to meet again in the playoffs.

To be fair, we've got just about everything bar any sort of threat up front. All the silky midfield flicks and passes in the world aint worth a bucket of shit if there's nobody to put the fucking thing in the net. Some of our passing was first rate, but, as always, we are so easily bullied off the ball. Not meaning we were fouled at lot, we weren't, but just too easy to either get knocked of the ball or unable to knock an opponent off the ball. New players, same old problems. I get the feeling now we are being led down the garden path by Mr Power. Just waiting for the end of the window followed by the old chestnut of trying hard to sign players but not being able to get the deals done.

We won 1-0. The goal was probably the only thing that happened during the game and I missed it because I was still at the bar. :ffs:

Ha, I'm only joking Gill. You lot aren't even top twenty when it comes to weird fans. Not going to be mentioning any names *cough* Swindon.

I think that was a 'perfect' away performance by posh yesterday. They did nothing staggering but took advantage of us sleeping at the start of the second half to score the only goal. We never looked creative enough to equalise and posh sat Bostwick in front of the back 4 and soaked up all our possession. Posh were bigger and more physical and didn't have to do anything much to take the points, as many teams have done this season *sigh*

I still think we have good individuals but we don't have a team, there is no desire, urgency or mental toughness. 1-0 down at home and no fucker in the side is geeing each other up to get back into it, it's almost like they just accept defeat without giving it a go.

That's probably my last home game and Cov away is likely to be my last this season. Rovers and Oxford are going to win at a canter unless our players can grow a set very soon.

Feeble, very feeble.
