I formerly used the pseudonym dickie davies eyes but have had my email account hacked by some Nigerians and I don't possess the wit or guile to get that account up and running again.
Talking of wit and guile I don't think Tranmere's defence will have enough to deal with Grimsby's Amond and Bogle this Friday evening, after all Tranmere's defence have failed to deal with the lowly Southport and Altrincham strike force amongst others. To be fair though I think Tranmere are slowly improving but need to dominate teams for longer than a 20 minute period per game.
Anyone remember Ivano Bonetti, the former Juventus striker who tore what is now the championship a new one when he arrived at Blundell park. I was so excited when Tranmere signed him from Grimsby 2 decades ago. He never seemed interested at Prenton park though, as soon as a hair was knocked out of place on his head he was off to be subbed.
I'm making the journey over to Cleethorpes early tomorrow. Is an Afternoon in Cleethorpes long enough to sample all the delights of Scunthorpeshire's premier seaside resort? Any good recommendations for fish and chip shops and real ale pubs please.
If I had to choose another game to go to this weekend it would be Woking v Cheltenham, Garry Hill v Gary Johnson should be intriguing.

Just to point out, but we're actually at home to Aldershot.

On our recent home form, I'd expect us to pick up a win, but can't say I know too much about what Aldershot are like these days. Did Anderton sign a loan extension? He'll get a good reception for sure. Brodie is the only other ex-Bluebird, and he'll more than likely get some stick. Played some of his best football here, but on his visits since he's acted like a tool and been totally useless.

Anthony Wilson could make the bench for his first appearance since the spring, and gives us a great attacking option. More than likely it'll be the same XI that started on Tuesday, though Grand could come back in.
Really upbeat about this one...which usually means we lose.

Glad you've stuck with the Half Man Half Biscuit theme for names, disappointed you didn't call yourself Cammell Laird Social Club though!
I'm also off to Cleethorpes today, not expecting anything based on how we've been playing recently, and not exactly thrilled at the prospect of Wagner providing the pre-match "entertainment..." Hope the chips are good!

If you have plenty of time then a visit to Steels Corner House in The Market Place is essential. It is like stepping back into the 60's inside but their Jumbo Haddock, Chips and Mushy Peas is legendary. Steels is only a restaurant and if you want takeaway then Ernie Becketts across the road is recommended as is The Ocean Fish Bar on St. Peters Ave, which is the main shopping street off The Market Place. Remember though, wherever you go it's Haddock not Cod in these parts. Cod is only fit for pet food and visiting Yorkies in these parts. Also avoid the chippys on the actual seafront and promenade as they cater more for the holidaymakers.

For real ale you have the No.2 which is actually on Cleethorpes railway station, only a very small pub but always has a good selection of real ales on and a bit further away along the seafront in Willys which has it's own microbrewery. There are also plenty of other pub around including a recently opened Wetherspoons (The Colosseum Picture House) on The High Street.Your best staying up there until near to kick-off time as there;s not much near the ground and it's only a 15 minute walk, although you can get a beer in the ground. You can even take the scenic route and go down to the end of the prom and walk along the seafront and over the railway bridge rather than walking down the main road,

Enjoy the day but hopefully not the result.

Off to Macclesfield tomorrow. Silkmen have an ok home record this season, P4 W2 D1 L1, including a 2-1 win over our conquerors Woking. They seem to start games strongly and finish poorly, perhaps the result of being part-time. Need to nullify Dennis and score early ourselves. Both our left backs are out, Jennings injured and Kelly (YY=R) after being run ragged by Andrade on Tuesday - best attacker I've seen this season, B Clifford from Boreham Wood was also top notch.

Trumpton Riots is my favourite HMHB song, but I fear that National Shite Day may be more appropriate for Rovers fans tonight.

Grimsby have a very strong forward line, Rovers a patchy defence. We don't have a great record at Blundell Park and it's hard on recent form to see that improving. Brabin has said he's not that keen on squad rotation, [but does it regularly]. I'd like to see Ihiekwe moved to central defence, suspect that Mangan will be rested with Blissett coming in and we may not play both wingers, packing the midfield instead. Can't see beyond a comfortable home win; 3-1.

We need to be beating Kiddy, really. Only 3 wins this season, although 4 draws.

Just Howe missing as far as I'm aware. Hearn's back in full training but if I'm honest, I'd be inclined to sit him out this one just to make sure.

My most eagerly anticipated away game as we travel to depleted Stockport tomorrow in the North. They only have 14 players to choose from and I doubt we will name a full bench. Quietly confident of picking up a 5th win on the spin. Confidence is sky high in the dressing room at the moment.

My prediction if Rowe Turner plays 3-1 Lincoln with a Rhead hat trick and Gurjit Singh

If Rowe-Turner is dropped 1-1

Arguably a tougher test to come on Saturday against Cheltenham than vs Forest Green three days ago. FGR had everything to lose, giving us a free hit at ruining their record. Four points from these two games, given our current injury situation, would be fantastic.

He is still playing wank then?

He is a weird one. he was excellent during 2013/14 when we hit the dizzy hits of third. Then at the beginning of last season his confidence was shot and he has been awful ever since.

I'm also going to Chester again on saturday - every time I go there they lose, so Eastleigh should feel confident!

Knowing us it'll be Kiddy's first win of the season but we really should be winning this one.
Would be nice to win 2 or 3-0 but cant see it, a scrappy win by the odd goal is more likely if we do win

I've a dreadful feeling that Hurst will drop Amond or Bogle for Tomlinson tonight.

That'll go down well....

With Colley's ban starting tomorrow and 2 more injuries on Tuesday night we could line up like this

This is what I'd like to see

Hurst

Ellison - O'Hanlon - Thorniley - Roberts

Montrose - Ledsham

Evans - Garvin - Kirby

Odejayi

Subs Ormson, Gonzales, Hazeldine

With all our injuries and 2 of our best players out that squad is still very good at this level and more than capable of beating Alfreton, the problem i we only have 3 subs and 1 is a keeper and the other 2 are strikers, we might bring in someone from the development squad so we might be alright. If Odejayi looked like scoring or being any type of a goal threat I'd say 2-0 County but my prediction is either 0-0, 1-1 or 1-0 Alfreton.

He's been awful, I think he's maybe had 1 good game for us this season. I would much rather see a back four of Hodgkiss, Langmead, Tunnicliffe and this new signing Toner or Green

What time is the kick off for Grimsby v Trannie? Im presuming it's on BT Sports.

Is it the same time as the Rugby? I will have to get a dual screen system going. Really impress the missus.

7:45pm as usual,

By the way, I would like to apologise in advance for the pre-match "entertainment" which will be foisted on everyone tonight.

Call yourself a football fan Liam? Disgraceful!

You can stick yer eggchasing up yer arse. :gr:

Haha! Didnt think comment would get much love on here!
Not normally interested in Rugby unless its Six Nations or World Cup. Plus its the opening game and there is plenty of other football on over the weekend. Having said that Id still like to give the match a watch.

Does anyone know when its repeated?

Fairly confident we can bounce back, we didn't play too badly at Woking and I doubt Macc will be as good as they were.

Going off at a tangent slightly, where's Shaun, the Kiddy fan got to? Did he ever make his way from TFF to here? I can't remember.
