We finished losing 4-1 at home to Royston, losing ground at the top of the league. We should stay 1pt ahead of Royston and drop to 3rd. More importantly closer to the 5th place playoff cutoff mark.

Sounds like we had the chances to win it but it just wasn't our day.

Ah well, unbeaten run continues, onwards and upwards!

The biggest concern now is so many injuries! Two went off last game and another today.

Bad defeat, really terrible, no excuses, we were very poor it sounded.

We have work to do again, 2 from 9 from Boreham Wood, Welling and Woking is far from acceptable.

Still a long way to go if you persist with Brabin. Really don't know why this guy keeps finding clubs who are willing to give him a job. Still, the worst thing about him is how he's always nagging for more money to splash on players, and I think he's doing the same at Rovers.

In the sense of a relegation battle, yes, there is a long way to go, they may yet stay up. With Brabin in charge, this is thrown into doubt however.

In the conference north...

Neil Young maybe a Chester legend but he's making a right mess of things here, no win in 7, lost at home to that plastic club today, and look poor in general.

losing at home to a team who had gained one point from 24 - Neil Young has to go.

A lot of County fans actually have faith in the players, our defence, mainly is good, we've got a back four full of football league experience, our 2 centre midfielders have arguably been our best players this season, our wingers blow hot and cold but there's ability there, but it's just our strikers are useless, he's seriously cost us letting Dennis go, Margetts did well today but he won't be here all season

Unbelievably predictable, yet it still hurts.

We are well and truly fucked.

Jesus Christ how low can we go. FFS Braintree.

We get worse every week, I jokingly said we'll be lucky to stay up at this rate a few weeks ago but I'm actually starting to worry now.

Our defence was good Sam, it certainly isn't anymore (14 goals conceded in our last 6 games) and that is all down to Young taking Thorniley and then Morton out of it. We must have the slowest defence in the league and unsurprisingly we concede a huge amount of goals when the opposition counter. We also have no pattern of play going forward whatsoever and seemingly never work on attacking set-plays despite the ridiculous amount of corners we get every game.

Yeah we were brilliant at the back not too long ago, I like Connolly to be fair and I don't think Thorniley was a massive loss although I do rate him. Tonge is awful though, don't know why he dropped Morton.

The usual win against Lincoln. Well-deserved too.

They are a very direct side, as you would expect with that blob up front. Their first 15 minutes was awful, I'm not sure they actually put more than two passes together. Dan Holman put us ahead early on before Joe Quigley added a second before half-time. Even at 2-0, Lincoln still had a chance to get something in the game with the wind behind them in the second-half. Holman hit the post after half-time and got his second after some great work from Bruno Andrade. Andrade tore Beevers apart and embarrassed their other full-back, the one who only seems to get picked because he has a long throw, all game. The long throw bloke threw it at Rhead's face and it went in.

Classic scenes towards the end when Beevers, clearly annoyed at being embarrassed constantly, stamped on John Goddard right in front of the linesman and Moaners' Corner. Cue scuffle between the players and Moaners' going apoplectic. Beevers was, then, rightly sent off.

Perhaps more embarrassing than Beevers and Lincoln's performance were the 15 or so Green Street Lincoln fans. Following the second goal, after 40 minutes, they all decided to leave. They gave it large to the home terrace on their way out and then walked behind the home terrace and ripped open a hole in it to try and get in. It was like some sort of real life Whack-A-Mole game when the 12-year-old poked his head through and shouted something like "come on then you.....".

I like Connolly but he is slow alongside Roberts who is slow and O'Hanlon is slow and that is why we are repeatedly getting caught by teams on the break. We had a very good mix of experience and youth in our backline and it showed with the small amount of goals we were conceding.

Sounded an abysmal game on the radio.

Abysmal to watch, too. Shit conditions, shit game, shit goal to concede. It was so obvious it would happen too, in that manner. Basic.

Very embarrassing for Tranmere today, beaten by a part time out fit, financed on next to nothing who even traveled up on the day in terrible road conditions and won the game comfortably. So well done Braintree and their 40 fans who made the trip. Over to you Mr Brabin?

Not our best performance today and I think 3-1 flattered us a bit.

Chester seem to be lacking confidence. They played well until we scored and then their heads dropped with us dominating the rest of the 1st half. Their equaliser came against the run of play and due to our defence falling asleep. Second half, again Chester started well and this time they fell asleep to gift us our second goal. That was that then and, as I said, we completed the game in the last few minutes, which was probably a bit harsh on them.

A gap at the top now, yes the others have games in had, but I'd rather have the points on the board. Also top for Christmas, which is nice.

What's the significance of the being top at Christmas thing? I mean, compared to being top the week before or after Christmas. Does Santa deliver you extra presents or something?

Currently sat in the pub waiting for us to get our arses handed to us by the French. C'est la vie.

As predicted, the arse handing took place. Embarrassing, abysmal, gutless, clueless. All don't even come close to to describing how we were today.

Eastleigh, Guiseley, Woking, Eastleigh, Woking are our next five fixtures. Nil points and out the trophy would be a good return from that lot the way we are playing.

It's not like Dover are even any good, they're not. That's what fucking hurts so much.
