First Half - Poor

46th to 48th minute - Brilliant

49th minute to 90th minute - self destruct.

Any team who concedes FOUR goals from set pieces in 1 match deserves exactly what we got!

The only positive today was that we scored as many goals this afternoon as we had in the last 7 games!

As predicted, the arse handing took place. Embarrassing, abysmal, gutless, clueless. All don't even come close to to describing how we were today.

Eastleigh, Guiseley, Woking, Eastleigh, Woking are our next five fixtures. Nil points and out the trophy would be a good return from that lot the way we are playing.

It's not like Dover are even any good, they're not. That's what fucking hurts so much.

You always beat us.

Apart from this season.

Yeah we were brilliant at the back not too long ago, I like Connolly to be fair and I don't think Thorniley was a massive loss although I do rate him. Tonge is awful though, don't know why he dropped Morton.

Yep Tonge is dreadful, was pleased we only had him on a very short term contract earlier this season so we could get rid easily.

Shame it's not working out for Neil Young, the conference north looks a lot stronger than when we won it. Seems he has made a massive mistake with Kristian Dennis though!

Bad defeat, really terrible, no excuses, we were very poor it sounded.

We have work to do again, 2 from 9 from Boreham Wood, Welling and Woking is far from acceptable.
I don't get Lincoln fans. Why is one top 10 side losing by two goals away from home to another top 10 side a bad/terrible defeat? Surely it's a typical result in this division. It isn't like you've lost to one of the bottom six.

What's the significance of the being top at Christmas thing? I mean, compared to being top the week before or after Christmas. Does Santa deliver you extra presents or something?

The oldage that the team top at Christmas usually goes on to win the league is what I think Si Robin is talking about.

Agree that we were not at our best but the result was never in danger even after Chester scored against the run of play just before half time. Second half was all one way traffic apart from one moment of pinball in our box from which they almost scored.

Needless red card in fifth minute of stoppage time, injury to one of our best players. That's why it's a bad defeat on top of the poor performance.

I personally couldn't care less if you don't understand us.

The Vision - confirmed as representing non league football in the FA Cup 3rd round.
Of course, we all know where our destiny is taking us....but for those who do not believe in The Vision, we will try and do our utmost to make you all proud in the 3rd round.
Stourbridge was a tough game in very testing conditions, but we made it through & very proud we are too!

Good luck to Alty, FGR, Welling today, & not forgetting Grimsby on Monday night!

I don't think of us will be feeling any pride whatsoever that you're representing non-league, but whatever gets you through the day sport.

Just a poor return of the last 3 games I think. 2 from Boreham Wood, Welling and Woking is poor, even if the latter two are bogey sides.

Genuinely, well done Eastleigh getting to 3rd round, but when you have done it 4 years running like Alty have and reached the 4th round (after beating a Prem Lge (was 1st Div in them days) team away from home) too let me know.

We have lost 2 key players for today and with a 17 yr old at centre back I fear we may do well to draw, 2-2 is my (hopeful) prediction.
They have a new manager and are at home, even with 500 alty fans there it will be a huge ask to win it.

I'm still not entirely sure why we bothered playing 4-4-2 to be honest.

Muldoon is better higher up the pitch with someone able to cover his defensive work a bit better and central midfield combinations of, one way or another, Sparrow, Stanley, Power and Tempest just has no pace in it whatsoever so it's a big ask straight away. Stanley and Sparrow are the strongest pair, because, unlike Power, they don't need 5 touches before they pass it.

Personally, though, with no Hearn now, get 3 in CM and push Power up out the way. He can't play CM - we've been saying that for 4 years.

You could lose to us in a couple of weeks. That'd be pretty low.

On current form Halifax will be favourites to win and there's always the option of not bothering going to the game and staying in the Three Pigeons instead!

Thanks to Flea for this clip of our 'hand ball' that led to the equalising goal for Halifax.
2 points to the referee then - tosser.
Halifax deserved the point but not in that fashion

An excellent achievement by Alty!
TBH the more Non league clubs that reach the 3rd & 4th rounds, will continue to show everyone that the standard of non league is improving year on year, and more importantly, it will continue to give the old farts at the FA a nudge, as to whether they should start to promote 3 teams from the Conf Prem. Without doubt in my mind, the gap between L2 and the Conf Prem is getting smaller every season.
If results go in favour of the non league clubs involved in today's FA Cup games, we could conceivably have a situation where we might well have more clubs representing the non league game left in the competition, than there would be L2 clubs...

The referee (and linesman on the Skircoat side) was equally terrible for both sides. Don't think we got a free kick until midway through the second half. About the only positive thing he got right all afternoon was not to fall for Adam Smith's awful diving -tosser. Agreed a point was about right in the end. See you in the FA Trophy.

The challenge on Hawkridge looks terrible from the pic I've seen of it and it wasn't even deemed a foul and from the resulting Woking attack they scored, no booking either.
Beevers should know better than get involved with someone winding him up but it .
Our performance was bad but trying to listen to it on radio lincs with the two clowns Hortin and Tommo giggling and guffawing like schoolkids at their crap jokes was worse....

Blame Drench, he physically manhandled the last man forward and into his position on the end of the wall, from where he flicked the ball perfectly into the top corner for us, with his head. Thanks Drench. :brill:

It always happens when Woking beat anyone. Teams should just accept we're a good side, punching well above our weight and would be in the top seven had we not suffered the injurys that we have had.

Just back from an extended weekend in Lowestoft/Great Yarmouth

Lowestoft 1 (Reed 65) Alfreton 0

Its the same match report every week now. Missed a truckload of chances, make our obligatory error at the back, the opposition pounce and win the game.
To be fair safe to say the weather conditions didnt help at all. But I am getting to the end of my tether with the situation at the club at the moment.

We have no coherent strategy at all. Our Chairman wants out and isnt willing to invest a single penny in the club which is an absolute detriment to the club. This attitude has got down to the players now too. Our manager doesnt care and is too comfortable. Its a shambles.

The status quo cannot remain. We need fresh faces and a change in direction desperately

Was watching BBC final score today, terrific scenes as Whitehawk got a last gasp equaliser at D&R. I'm sure the Whitehawk fans will remember that moment for the rest of their lives, thats what makes the FA cup so great. Whitehawk look like a force to be reckoned with if they get promoted to the national league next season.
Thought Altrincham and Northwich vics were terribly unlucky, good effort. Commiserations to FGR . England's non leaguers have done the FA cup proud again.

Whatever...
Look on our twitter page.

There's nothing to 'look' at. Your player got hurt in a fair tackle. It happens, it's a contact sport.

A fair tackle? Not sure you understand the rules of the game.

Are we really going to get into the business of posting still pictures of challenges? Come on, we're better than that.

It's not a fair tackle though is it? For the ref to not even give a free kick takes the mick. I know it's not easy for the officials to see everything. It's just the Woking fan saying its a great tackle! Not taking anything away from them, they were far better than us on the day.

Jesus Christ how low can we go. FFS Braintree.

In the sense of a relegation battle, yes, there is a long way to go, they may yet stay up. With Brabin in charge, this is thrown into doubt however.
If we continue to collect points at the same rate as the last 10 games, we'll end up with around 51, which is no guarantee of safety.

Very embarrassing for Tranmere today, beaten by a part time out fit, financed on next to nothing who even traveled up on the day in terrible road conditions and won the game comfortably. So well done Braintree and their 40 fans who made the trip. Over to you Mr Brabin?
Braintree played really well, you'd never have guessed they were the side who'd travelled up on the day of the game and were part-timers. Didn't resort tothe cynical tactics one or two others have adopted at Prenton Park either. Rovers were gutless and clueless however.

You could lose to us in a couple of weeks. That'd be pretty low.
Given my dire record at Rovers away games, I'm tempted to get so blotto at our work Christmas bash the previous night that I don't actually make this.
