Will be interesting to see how we line up without Scott, will probably end up playing Gez as a lone striker which worries me as he doesn't really have the physical presence or aerial ability to play up top on his own.
I'd like to see -

Cole
Caprice Saah Yakubu Arthur
Murtagh Ricketts Jones
Andrade Sole Goddard

Should be a good game, if its anything like the last time we played them I'll be happy ;)

I'm off to Gateshead tomorrow, anybody got any tips on pubs and parking.
Traditionally Tranmere have never taken particularly large followings to the north east midweek, 300 would be good.
Like Woking, Gateshead are no mugs so I'm expecting another tough encounter and would be happy with a point.

Take binoculars ^.

Was really keen to go to the first away day this season, but Wrexham is just too much of a ballache to get to on a tuesday.

I'd imagine it'll be a similar starting XI to Saturday. Draw or narrow defeat I think.

On the road to Gateshead as well, and as you predicted, I'd imagine there'll be 300 or so Tranmere fans. It's just that little bit too far for a lot of people to get there in time after work. Looking forward to it, and I'll make sure I remember my glasses!

Hopefully we will be able to take advantage of Halifax's poor first result but we will need to play a lot better than we did against Braintree.

Would take a point but think we are more than capable of a win.

We welcome Aldershot tomorrow night. (I nearly put for the 1st non-league game at Whaddon Road since May 1999, then remembered Gloucester have been there for 5 years now).

I will be amazed if there are any changes to the starting line-up. I'm almost giddy with excitement.

What did you make of Braintree? Anyone to look out for?

Only ever got the train when i've been up there, so wouldn't know about parking. There's a pub by the river called "The Schooner" which is a nice little pub with friendly bar staff and only a 5 minute walk away, other than there we drink in Newcastle town centre then get the metro to Gateshead.

P.S. it's the ground I dislike most in the league, last time I went the overall attendance was about 400 with 12 from us!! That's what a freezing cold Wednesday night in the middle of January does to us.

We're Braintree's bogey side. Since they beat us 1-0 in our first game against them, we've gone 3-3, 3-0, 3-0, 2-0, 2-0, 3-2, 3-1 and a 3-1 win in the FA Trophy, too.

I suspect they'll be 2 or 3 changes for us. Wouldn't surprise me if Bush, Nolan and Hearn all started.

A couple of short journeys for us with Braintree then Eastleigh on Saturday...

That's the team I'd play and the one I think we'll go with. Saying that, we only have four other players and one of them is a goalkeeper and another a youth player, so options are limited. Andrade and Goddard will really have to help Sole out up front.

Sparkes and Akinola were probably the best performers which is much the same as last season imo.

They were a very average team really. They weren't bad by any stretch but never really looked like scoring.

Need to be winning this one or the pressure to win on Saturday will be huge and going 3 games winless isn't acceptable this time around. We almost always go winless at the beginning of the season and end up regretting it by the end.

Barrow will be a tough test, we tend to struggle against the newly promoted teams but again it's a trend we need to be overcoming. Cook shit the bed whenever we played Barrow when he was here so I reckon he'll do the same this time. Not sure what our team will be, sounds like Bogle was legless by the end of the game on Saturday so surprised if he starts. Arnold / Monkhouse will probably go up front with Mackreth filling in.

i don't somehow think Cook will have that problem Tuesday - He's full of confidence now.
Not sure how we'll do tomorrow, but have predicted a draw with Cook (of course) scoring.
Pilkington is probably out injured so there will be at least 1 change from Saturday - wouldn't be surprised if we go 5-3-2 or play with only 1 winger

We must bounce back, but we just don't score enough goals. Ever. 1-0 or 0-0.

There's plenty of space to park on the estate just down the A184 from the ground on the right, and presumably on the left too.

Can tell someone's never been to Gateshead if they're looking forward to it. Such a horrible ground for football, complete with a gazebo roof that does nowt for acoustics.

For pubs, we went to the Central in our two visits there so far, but it'd properly gone downhill the second time, although the beer was very good still.

Won't be going to Gateshead. Expecting another tough game, with the opponents looking fairly strong up front with Bowman, who we were apparently after and Johnson, who spent a month on loan to us last season.

I don't think Cole Stockton functions as the lone striker, so hope Brabin either gives him a partner or plays someone else (Margetts) in that role. As Norwood went off apparently injured, expect some change in our starting xi. I'd take a point but have the feeling we'll just be edged out.

Elsewhere, it will be interesting to see how the 3 promoted sides who had good home wins at the weekend fare against tougher opponents on the road.

Going to Dover.. Missed the Grimsby game cos of cricket. I think we're going to lose heavily but I've only just moved back to England and not been to Dover before so I've got to go!

Hoping we can get a shitty 1-0 win. And also hide all the towels to try and negate Cox's rugby lineouts.

Apart from going to blunders we dont really have any short trips Luke!
Please god not Nolan! Mind anything is better than ruddy Power, Hearn for him playing off the big fella. Bush for Beevers?
Should win IF we take our chances better.

What's wrong with Nolan? I'm a big fan of his (as a footballer, as a person not so much).

We host Lowestoft tomorrow who will be brimming with confidence after a 3-0 win over AFC Telford on Saturday. Expecting a tough game as Dan Bradley is injured and John Johnstone only 50% fit.

For those tranmere fans, I would highly recommend the Schooner. Fantastic food for a cheap price and a nice setting too. Don't expect much when you enter the stadium though.
Can't lose tomorrow. Enjoying chipmunx' views that Cook is full of confidence so is going to score tomorrow. We all know how his mind works; when the opposition gets on his back, head goes down, simple as. I think we have the quality to win tomorrow. Judging from the highlights, Barrow look very suspect at the back.

Three days into the new season and I've already read the phrase "must win" far too many times for my liking.
