We always play shit against bottom 5 teams and did so again, at least we had several of our injured missing players on the bench and its was only when they came on we bucked up and won with our only shot on target!
Wood should have been 2 up by then but lack the quality up front to punish teams.

Up to 17th and now have two easy games ahead, away to FGR and Cheltenham !
Good luck with your next two! I'm sure you'll do better than we did though

By far the better team today. Cheltenham were on the ropes in the last 20 minutes. They seemed to settle for a point, which was odd.

When they kept the ball down, Cheltenham were very good and dangerous. A great game in general, could have been so different if parkin scored his penalty!

All in all, happy with the point. 804 FGR fans, and a singing Dale Vince stood next to me!

Always difficult against 12 men, I'm so glad we got out of that without losing. The ref was so determined to not be a homer he fell for every one of their little tricks. In the first half Carter literally jumped onto the ground and got a free-kick. The handball at the end was shocking as well. Deserved a red a yellow for the handball and another for daring to celebrate it.

With that being said, we hoofed it far too much today. Our best spells came when we got it down and played it through them but instead we kept resorting to hoofing it.

I don't care, we're still top and that's all that matters.

It's strange how people see the game differently. I personally thought Pell was very very lucky to not get a yellow card in the first half. Also, frear was hacked down towards the end. Blatant penalty.

Regardless, Cheltenham wasting time rolling on the floor at home is pretty poor. I'd be a bit pissed off if I were a cheltenham fan. No desire to win the game. Strange

Now I've warmed up a little, and can reflect on the game... Welling are fucking awful, how are they not bottom 4? Actually gonner put on a bet for welling to get relegated. One of the bottom 4 (Halifax or kiddy) will make a late run to get out of it, welling will be dragged on. Heard it here first'!

I'm intrigued by this comment. Are you talking about when Daniel Parslow went down with the head injury (eventually being taken off)? Or when our keeper went down, also with a head injury? I don't recall any other times when our players stayed down. I've got nothing to be pissed off about, we're top of the league and I have seen nothing this season to truly worry me and make me think we can't stay there until May.

Regarding Pell in the first half, there was one bad challenge arguably worth a yellow, but other than that he was immense. I wouldn't say Frear was hacked down either, although I was shocked a pen wasn't given, especially as the ref had given you everything else. Perhaps you can explain Storer's booking for daring to go into a 50/50 challenge and win?

Forest Green are becoming a very unlikeable club, and their team added to it today, including Pennock moaning at the ref for daring to give a booking following a shocking challenge from Frear in the first half. Such a shame to see what's come of what used to be such a decent club.

You mean to say FGR were likeable in the first place? Now that is intriguing.

I wasn't saying I'd be pissed at your whole season. Being as you feel cheltenham are superior to everyone else in the conference, surely you feel a bit disappointed you didn't go for it, and had 37% possession at home?

Agree with you regarding Pell, excellent signing, he and carter were a class apart today. Thought Frear gave your RB a hard afternoon, similarly to your number 8, no one got within 5 yards of him!

Overall good advert for Gloucestershire. Will be interesting to see what unfolds over the next few months, I think Grimsby will push on and be there or there abouts for the title.

I want to see Burr drop this 'man in the hole' role, it doesn't work for me and leaves Hannah too isolated with no bigger guy next to him. That does leave an issue of where to play Rooney but I'd give him a go out wide, where he played when he first joined us. He's got no pace to beat a man but could at least put in some decent crosses for two strikers to attack.

You caused us more problems with two up top, which you desperately needed to do as our defence looked dodgy throughout.

I like Heneghan. Good defender, considering his age and experience. Can't help but feel he needs to be nastier though. Too kind, yet wins a fair amount of battles. He could bully more strikers in this league and go on to play in the Football League.

We played ok today, first 20 aside, although must be said Guiseley made us look like world beaters by standing off for most of the game. Deserved win, which we made very hard work of, though our forum's in meltdown as usual. Hoping this kick starts us back into some sort of form as, apart from playing FGR off the park, we've been poor for the last month.

Better side, but will take a point. Decent atmosphere as well, felt like a proper top of the table game. Would be surprised if anyone finishes above either of us, if anyone does they'll win the league. Fancy a Gloucs 1 2 though.

Pell is quality btw, wouldn't mind him here. Him and Frear best players on the pitch.

He probably hasn't quite hit the heights of last season, where he ended up with several goals to his name but he is a good un, has a few clubs from higher up the pyramid watching him at the moment.

Yet we beat them pretty comfortably at their place.
We were crap that night, but you lot didn't exactly go for it. Perfectly happy
to park the bus and take a 0-0.

Fiver in the bet thread that Forest Green and Cheltenham don't both finish in the top 2?

Deva Chat is in meltdown after yesterday's chronically dire performance against Woking, who as Sparrow rightly said picked up their routine win against us. Tuesday's crowd against another team we rarely beat (Dover Athletic) will be the lowest since reformation. Not surprising really because that was arguably our worst performance since Barnet (h), when we lost 5-0 and it could have been 8-0. I'm afraid that Burr may not be the genius that was first thought. His tactics and team selections are dreadful. Chapell would almost certainly make our all-time worst 11 and the fact that we've sent players out on loan is a joke when the current lot are so crap. I'm a ST holder, but I need a break from it, it's utter shite.

Says it all..

What does it say? That if I couldn't get to the other side of the country supporting my club I'd instead put money into the coffers of another local club at a time when they needed it? I've also gone to Cleeve, Cirencester and Gloucester games as well. Does that say it all?

What your comment does is reiterate my point about how unlikeable your club has become, from top to bottom.

Are you just being argumentative as surely you cannot mean that considering your side had one shot on goal all game which was your goal. You had more of the ball but carried no threat on our goal. Perhaps it would have been different if you focused more on football rather than time wasting and cheating.

For what it's worth I thought Forest Green came to stop us playing and spoil the game, it worked well and neither team can seriously claim to have deserved more. We will both be up there and I think both of us are marginally better than Grimsby so will likely finish first and second come the end.
