Deva Chat is in meltdown after yesterday's chronically dire performance against Woking, who as Sparrow rightly said picked up their routine win against us. Tuesday's crowd against another team we rarely beat (Dover Athletic) will be the lowest since reformation. Not surprising really because that was arguably our worst performance since Barnet (h), when we lost 5-0 and it could have been 8-0. I'm afraid that Burr may not be the genius that was first thought. His tactics and team selections are dreadful. Chapell would almost certainly make our all-time worst 11 and the fact that we've sent players out on loan is a joke when the current lot are so crap. I'm a ST holder, but I need a break from it, it's utter shite.
I've given up a bit with DC, decided to give it a swerve, at least for a while.

Whenever we lose a game we're certainties for relegation apparentely, when the reality is we are just a bang average mid table side sitting in 13th, who wins and loses games on a regular basis.

I see Bromley lost again yesterday. Now in 11th place. Reffed out of the play-offs and top 10 just like how I said they would.

Given that you are working with a smaller budget this season isn't that where you would expect to be?
We probably have one of the lowest budgets in the league and are part time so even with fighting above our weight i couldn't reasonably expect us to finish any higher than 16th. That's life!

Pretty much, we finished 12th last year so my expectation was to finish a couple of places higher up maybe this time around, we're not exactly far away from that really.

It's like our fans have forgotten what mid-table is, after three consecutive promotions and then a relegation (but reprieved). If we win, and play well, there's a chance of clutching on to the play-offs, if we lose a game we're relegation fodder. There's not keeping anything in perspective.

This is a horribly tough league for part-time clubs. Every win is an event, is it not?

It's a relief when you come across teams that you can compete with and very occasionally outplay but a big reality check when you meet the better teams on top form. In between are the teams that seem to play within themselves, just soak up any pressureeven for large spells in a game but out of nowhere spring out with pace and numbers and score with ease before sitting back again. For me that's what makes this league so interesting.

Obviously happy with 3 points yesterday, even more so with the injuries we had, we need to keep winning to keep up, every time we win nearly everybody above us also seems to

We played ok today, first 20 aside, although must be said Guiseley made us look like world beaters by standing off for most of the game. Deserved win, which we made very hard work of, though our forum's in meltdown as usual. Hoping this kick starts us back into some sort of form as, apart from playing FGR off the park, we've been poor for the last month.
Wasn't there yesterday[which might account for the win], but have read some of the Cowsheds stuff. Seems to be a split between those who think the win gets us back on track and those who think that we were largely gifted the win by the way Guiseley played after taking the lead. Also McNulty was either awesome or awful. I do think that Brabin is still struggling, but he doesn't help himself by treating certain players as un-droppable and not giving others a chance.

Was surprised to see Sam Hughes, who looked a decent player when he came on against us has been loaned out. also what's the crack with Michael Kay potentially quitting the game?

Hughes has come to prominence out of the youth team pretty quickly, I just don't think Burr trusts him yet as he's only 18/19 I think, bloody well built for a lad that age though.

Kay's having talks tomorrow, I hope he stays on as he's been transformed in to a decent centre-back. He had a rare outing back on the right when we visited your place earlier in the season, where's he's always looked awkward.

I need to stop reading DevaChat as well, it's ridiculous. A lot of our fans laugh at Wrexham for having delusions of grandeur when they are just as bad themselves - just cant accept a defeat or the odd poor performance.

It's not just the odd poor performance. Apart from when we beat Wrexham and Eastleigh and the odd other game it's been poor all season. I want to be entertained, but there hasn't been a lot of that this time round. I'm sorry, but I've enjoyed watching the Youth team more this season.

I'm not sure what you expected pre-season then as we are a mid table team who will lose games and players will blow hot and cold as they're the ones we can afford. Our fans can't seem to accept that though, we have to be incredible every single week.

Lincoln fans, random question, any idea if your match on Wednesday is segregated? Wouldn't expect it to be normally, but their game against FGR was so you never know! Debating popping over if it isn't too cold and would prefer the away end if there is one.

Errm, why did BWood segregate for the FGR match? I can understand segretation for the 'naughty' Lincoln fans but FGR?

So the Wood fans wouldn't have to smell the stink coming off FGR. :£

To make my original question completely redundant and highlighting my lack of research, just found that for all Boreham Wood home matches they are enforcing segregation and away fans are not allowed in the club house.

I've heard we would be excluded from the play-offs if we finish in the top 5 because we only beat the "bottom 13". Shame really.

I was expecting one of your match reports!

Ok...

We are rubbish. Lincoln were gift wrapped three goals. First 10 minutes or so we were actually looking the better side, then Lincoln go up, get a corner, free header and 0-1. Few minutes later a goal kick goes over Rhead and MacDonald and Hearn runs onto it and scores. Apart from that Lincoln hadn't really done anything, yet were 2 to the good, which is basically in the bag against us. Then City hit the woodwork three times as they started creating more. 0-4 could have been a fair reflection at half time.

Second half, we're not really doing a lot. A lot of the ball but not really making Lincoln worry and they looked solid. Then they get a free kick, ball comes in. Our keeper catches it, our defender heads it out of his hands, they both fall over and it's an open goal for Waterfall. 0-3. Then straight away we respond through Butler. We continue to press but lack any real cutting edge.

Basically we need a new board and a new squad quite quickly.

Yeah, think Kay only played at right-back for us, high spot was a great goal against Exeter. Seemed a nice lad and hope that he is able to stay in the game.

Yes, you can concede very quickly here, compared to the one-paced Conference North. You just have to find four clubs worse than you every year! The beauty of that scenario is that you don't know who that might be - I'd never have had Kidderminster and Halifax in the bottom 2 at the start of the season.

There was quite a bit of trouble at our place post match caused by a group of Luton fans mind , so some of our livelier fans may go down....
