Yeah, good result for Halifax that.
How did Racchi do?
Did ok but was (understandably) tiring before he was subbed. Has a pass in him that nobody else in our side currently has but on one or two occasions was caught out trying to play the Hollywood ball when a square'short pass would have been more logical. Good first impression though.

Not many Cheltie fans think that way, from yesterdays evidence I still think Wrexham will be well in the final mix. Don't think I ever saw a "Conference" side knock the ball around when we were last in there as Wrexham did.
Welcome Rob.

I've been smashed off my tits a few times in my youth. Glowsticks all over the place :)

Brilliant, thanks. It must be said Barra's version sounds more like a distant warship's horn. One of the best chants I've heard from an opposition side, especially for 30 minutes. Just a charm to it that trumps "Everywhere we go, we're the XYZ boys making all the noise".

We always used to get to Christmas and hope to have around 20 odd points on the board to give us half a chance of staying up. To have 21 points in August takes the piss really.

Don't you mean try and finish 4th bottom in prime AGM cup position? ;)

Doesn't guarantee success though.

Plan seems to be to be really tough to beat without being great, and hope that the individual quality we have up front or a set piece is enough to get the win. We might struggle against the better sides but we'll have enough to beat most of the rest, which could be enough.

This has made me realise you've now been throwing money at it longer than we were in the conference. Wonder how Mr Vince is feeling about that.

I don't recall (m)any of us being that optimistic.
I think they have been one (TRFC on Tour) But that was not my point. I was just saying I was surprise to read such a comment from a fan of team who has had a previous stint at this level.

Only just got chance to write about the game the other day against Tranmere. Thoroughly enjoyed the day, good, friendly stewards and a great point at the end of it.

Tranmere were much the better team in the first half, but we did have a few chances, and it was mostly a fifteen minute patch of suicidal defending that led to the 2-0 lead. Tranmere had a few other chances but Palmer was solid in goal. I think Whild made the right call not to start Singh, but why he dropped Verma I have no idea. We were a lot better once he was brought on just before half time. In the second half, Tranmere sat back and it took us a while, but we grew in confidence as it went on and took our chances. Singh was fantastic once he came on and Styche also played well.

The linesman at our end was useless though. The throw in that Dawson took that led to our second goal was hilariously bad, he was basically on the pitch when he threw it (see the video in the Highlight's thread). He didn't seem to notice that our first goal had gone in either. Also, I think Martin Riley should have been sent off. He should have got at least a yellow straight after half time when he threw his arm across Styche's face (considering Styche got a second yellow for a near identical incident a couple of week's ago) and then he picked up another yellow later on.

Overall, I think if we can start games how we seem to be finishing them, we'd be a lot better off. I know the table looks bleak, but six of the seven we have played are in the top 11 in the table, so I'm not feeling too pessimistic yet.

As long as some part of your heels are on the line you can have most on the pitch still.

Really? Didn't know that. Surely everyone would be doing that seeing as they try and make up as much ground from throw ins anyway?
