Ardley was a good manager who had a few crap players foist on him by the owners.
The new bloke is drowning.

Hartlepool to win the league on the last day.

Probably 2 foisted on him at most (Rodrigues and Sam), they’re the least of our problems, what Burchnall is dealing with now is Ardley’s squad entirely (bar Enzio, he got rid of literally everyone else including the likes of Osborne and Bird), we were just as poor under him, just pulled it out the bag with a wonder goal or late goal to salvage a point every now and then after 75 mins of horrendousness. The last games of his reign were pretty awful, by and large (Halifax, Chessie, Kings Lynn at home in particular). We’re not going up under Burchnall, but wouldn’t have under Ardley either.

True, we weren't playing great but I think we would have made the playoffs, and had a cup final to look forward to.

Bore off. Stockport controlled the game from minute 1 and were good value for the win. They were comfortable and never really had to up the intensity.

I actually don’t think we played shit by any means today. HOWEVER, my criticism today is of PW. You can’t honestly say that was a free flowing positive football. We played a defensive line up and defensive tactics throughout. There was no plan B at all once we went behind.

You really are the ultimate troll and I can’t believe I’m biting. Putting words into my mouth that I never once said. Point me to the part I ever once said we were shit? I’ll be waiting...

Well that was a nervy second half, Chesterfield much better, couldn’t of been any worse and deserved their goal, how’s that Mandeville not starting?

Big win for us, keep up the pressure.

Better from Chesterfield second half, but we had it in the bag anyway.

Yep as soup says, shocking first half from us but better in the second half.

Some strange comments on here... Hartlepool have the best home form in the league and are very much in the picture for winning the league. Yet because we lost a game there were now an awful side who has ‘no hope’ in the play offs.. make it make sense

Well done to Hartlepool, out of the 4 sides at the top I’d like to see you guys go on and win it. Definitely one of the best teams we’ve played this year both home and away

Marginally better second half by us but a gash first half sees the points staying with the Hangers, who never looked anything but comfortable. They never gave us a minute.

Injuries and the crap start to the season is undermining our progress. Still all to play for though, which is a miracle in itself.

To be honest we should have 10 more points than we do really by not being clinical enough throughout the season. We're taking our chances now but is it too late? A win at Bromley would be massive. Just wish the other fuckers would kindly stop winning.

Just awful yea, what can do except try and put games like that behind you? Having out 2 best performing centre backs out didn't help, nor did Rowe never being in a threatening position? Fuck knows where that bloke learnt positional play. Shite all round though, fair play to Hartlepool for putting us to the sword first half. Hope you win the league fellas

I've got one foot on the EFL Promotion Train, both feet in and tooting the horn if we beat Bromley.

Really comfortable win today, best we've played since Christmas. Boden and Waters are starting to develop a really decent partnership up front and we actually aren't missing Wright too much!

Boden can't play on Monday though so I guess we'll start with Kimpioka the young lad on loan from Sunderland. He's only featured in a couple of games due to injury but looks a real handful, totally different player to Boden though so it will be interesting to see how Johnson sets the team up with him in it.

What I'm hearing there is, "we haven't been good enough throughout the season, to merit any more points than we've got". What's your point, chuck?:ds:

4th win on the bounce, today we came up against a very very poor Barnet team, not a save to make all game for Justham. Woking and Wealdstone up next.
If we can field a team, have you got a couple of spare coins guvnor

That’s another team, who apparently would have gone above us when they’d played all their games in hand, put to the sword.
Oustanding first half, second a bit scrappy & we really missed Cass,I’m glad his injury is not serious.
Still Sutton’s to lose though.

Interesting to see how much better the ex-Barnet players at Daggers are compared to our present squad. Defensively we weren’t too bad but we were unable to put any pressure on the Daggers’ defence and create anything.

And it gets worse when you know the pittance we offered them to stay on with us. Johnson and Vilhete are solid NL players. Reynolds can be on his day but is a poor character to have around. We were never keeping McCallum with his wages.

Good to come through a tricky fixture away at a fellow playoff team in Halifax.

Didn’t think we played very well and we were far too defensive in the second half but 1-0 was a fair result on balance.

Monday/Tuesday is huge for us in terms of our title chances. We’ve got on paper by far the easiest fixture with Wealdstone at home where I’d settle for any kind of win but hope for one that would help boost our goal difference.

Meanwhile, the other three teams are playing sides fighting for the playoffs.

The toughest looks like Hartlepool travelling to a fresh Bromley just two days after playing on the Saturday in the late game - fair play to them if they come through that and get three points.

Sigh.

****** off about it all, but resigned to us just creeping further and further into obscurity whilst the majority of fans are happy to just accept it as "at least we have a club to support".

(Not those posting on here, I hasten to add).

Think we’ll be fine tbh, we have stable, wealthy owners for just about the first time I can remember, I’m not going to worry just because they got rid of an underwhelming manager and the replacement has had a few disappointing results so far. Some of the stuff certain Notts fans have been coming out with lately, getting relegated next season etc, has been laughable*

*feel free to screenshot when we plunge to NLN next May

Yeah you aren't a basket case club anymore so I'd have no particular worries for the future. It just takes a few seasons sometimes. Will be interesting to see how you go next season with a full pre season and signings for Burchnall.
