Once again, it’s absolutely criminal that only 2 go up when League 2 is so full of shite as well
This. I have been shocked this season at how much better the top 8 or so teams in this league are than the bottom 16 of the league above, maybe even more. We aren't any good yet but our performance last night was much better than any from our few wins in our League 2 relegation season.

League 2 is full of crap clubs trying to come 22nd whilst this league is full of upwardly mobile players and managers bottlenecked by 2 promotion spots.

Hoping 2 of the better ones make it out this year to give the rest of us a better chance next season.

I said there should be 3 when down here and still say 3 now, there’s no reason as to why not, especially when 4 go up from league 2.

Even if 22nd went into like a playoff system with sides from the league below like they do in scotland (they have a playoff i believe in germany) etc

That‘s the thing isn‘t it? Four relegation places from League 1 and 3 from the Premier League and the Championship make only 2 from the League 2 entirely unjustifiable, despite the obvious self interest. Most fans of league clubs have no idea how strong this league is.

Entirely possible that someone’s going to need near enough 100 points to go up automatically. Ridiculous.

Fairly typical of our season those two matches vs Halifax. Comfortably the best team for about half of it, then by no means get outplayed in the second half but lose 1-0. To come out those two matches with only a single point feels like a hammer blow. We need to learn how to stop losing these closely fought contests. That's Notts (h), Chesterfield (h), Dagenham (a), Aldershot (a), Wealdstone (a) and now Halifax (a) all lost by single goal margins. Absolutely must beat Altrincham now as we've then got Bromley and Wrexham coming up after that.

Interesting that you've not factored this one in to your little aggregate score...

Amond and Bogle, those closely fought 1-0 losses would probably be comfortable wins if we had strikers like them.

I'm struggling to think of any but have we actually had any striker that can score goals since those two left?
Wes Thomas is probably the closest we've had to that. We've had a few strikers and wingers that can score goals since then but unfortunately not while they were with us! Jamille Matt, Malik Wilks, Dialling Jaiyesimi and Kayden Jackson off the top of my head.

Boreham Wood did a job on us last night, not one for the purists but they had sustained pressure for a 10-15 minute spell in the second half and we finally buckled right at the end of it, Danilo Orsi once again scoring against us. Possibly would have got a point on another night but there we are. Saturday's match vs. Dover now becomes critical, we have to pick up 3 points.

This is the wildest take I've ever seen, the top 8 of the National League is better than 3/4's of the league above?

You been on the PCP this morning?

More than the loss the worst negatives from last night were our captain doing his hamstring in and the news Dan Moss's loan won't be renewed. We're heading for 11 games without a win after 11 without defeat.

The NL seems to bottleneck everyone in a while. This is probably the first time since somewhere around 2010-2014 where, as varying times, there was Mansfield, York, Luton, Grimsby, Kiddy, Fleetwood etc (maybe others, can't quite remember).

They all flush through eventually. Well, unless you're Wrexham - that's the law.

I think it's fairly obvious to everyone but the deliberately obtuse that I was highlighting your record at The Shay which, not uncoincidentally, is where last night's game was to be played. Still think it's "interesting" sweetcheeks? :ds:

Okay then, here's your record at BP for balance...

1-1D
7-0L
1-0L
0-1W
-----
9-2

Good to see you've finally relented though and admitted that your club was formed in 2008.

Tell you what lets add them all in:

4-0 W
1-0 W
0-1 L
1-1 D
0-7 L
4-2 W
1-1 D
1-0 W

and let's not forget that nice little cherry on the top, 1-0 at Wembley

I make that, let's see now, FIVE wins and 13 goals for me, TWO wins and 12 goals for you.

I think that gives a pretty fair picture of where we currently stand as clubs, what do you think, sweetcheeks. Interesting enough for you? Huh? :fl:

God, I'd hate to get on the wrong side of me. :ffs: :fl:

Aye, proper madness that. Just because the top 8 down here is full of Brothers it doesn't mean we are any good or could cope in L2.

Teams are getting pushed around down here by Halifax and Borehamwood, that should tell you everything.

If Sutton can trouble the top end of League 2, so can any of these losers at the top end of the conference table.

Borehamwood comfortably beat L1 Wimbledon on Saturday in the Cup.

Correct, he's absolute junk. Can't defend, and doesn't have a clue what to do on the rare occasions he ventures past the halfway line. Which isn't really helpful when our midfield has no creativity in it and we need our full-backs to overlap to create some space for the wingers.

Thought both of Halifax's full-backs were excellent tonight and did a great job getting up and down the pitch.
Life is all about opinions and on this occasion mine is that your opinion is utter rubbish. He had a poor game last night but is a very solid defender at this level and has been very steady In the majority of the games we have played. I agree going forward he doesn’t offer much, but efete goes forward so much on the other side then that makes crookes look even worse when he goes forward, but sorry, to say he can’t defend is just unfair imo

Almost every head in that Wimbledon side has been turned by Wrexham's billions. We're after all their players apparently.

Yep Sutton are nailing it and don't even have the aid of their plastic pitch anymore and that Sutton team hasn't changed much since it got promoted. Not sure they'd win this league this season but could easily end up play offs League 2.

Hartlepool lost 2-3 key players in the summer and then lost their manager in November and will stay up easily and have had good runs in the cups. They're arguably a weaker side now than last season but they're fine in League Two.

Sutton can't afford to go up.

You only included results since the current Halifax formed. Good to see you've stopped pretending you're an ex-league club.

Our results at your place 2013-2016 give us an accurate reflection of where our clubs currently stand? Good logic there mate.

I'd say if anything those results show that it's been pretty even between the two sides over the last decade (except for the majority of it when we were in a higher division).
God, I'd hate to get on the wrong side of me. :ffs: :fl:
Yeah it's pretty tedious having to correct you all the time to be fair.

League 2 has been misbehaving recently hasn't it? Sent Southend and Grimsby down last season, sent Morecambe and Cheltenham up, sending Forest Green and possibly Sutton up this time. Get it together!
