Their team were rubbish. We are defintiely a below par side at this level, but despite our frailties, we try and play a bit of football. Their kick and rush style and leaving the boot in after the ball was synonymous with football of a byone era.

And speaking of a bygone era..... The Millwall fans.

Yes, you guessed it. The predictable. The media's favourite enemy and big enemy of the media darling. The reputation. The not so loveable rogue.

All of the above, dismissed by myself every time we play them because I choose to take everything at face value. I believe they've done a lot to eradicate hooliganism at the Den. I believe the snippets fro the media about them being a family club to be true. But let's face it, it's all a front.

I'm sure families attend games in Bermondsey. I'm not sure families attend away games. Even before the game, when getting the train, the Millwall fans had an antganostic, aggressive vibe about them. Us simply being better than them was only fuel to an already stoked fire. Other than the easily identifiable "no-one likes us", the only time you heard a squeak out of them was for Paedohphile related banter (in the loosest form of thte word).

It was big for them, They couldn't travel to Leeds, they seldom travel anywhere, so they took it to us. Had they won, they'd have been disapointed. Because they were itching for a fight that wasn't readily available to them. Skinheads in their 40s that must lead a very sad life. Nothing better than this. No prospects. No girl to call your own, Nothing.

And at this point, I think it's worth me distancing myself from the media frenzy about Millwall and their fans. I've seen violence all over. Cardiff, Wolves, Stoke, even Bury. I've seen it lots at Rotherham, too. I can;t stand football fans holding hands and dancing in the sport (Man City, Derby, Wednesday) nor do I buy into the fact that a very averagely supported set of Palace fans are suddenly super fans because they've copied a few daft foreign jitties (much like Wednesday did following a 3rd rate European game vs Kaiserslauten in the 90s).

I like tradition. I like passionate, unrehearsed football chants. I like terraces. I like piss-stained ends. I likve Bovril, I like football special trains and I like hostile atmospheres, without it boiling over.

These set of idiots wanted a fight irrespective of a result By all accounts they got one in town, and they will know about it.

But storming the family end of a real family club for having the audactity to be winning is ludicrous.

Watch the news.

Cowards. Nothing more, nothing less.

Heard it started because a bunch of Rovrum in the corner were giving it the big un behind the safety of the stewards, some of whom were female.

Can you just confirm if that is or isn't the case mate? Cheers.

It's ironic that these rhetorical messageboard treaties against football hooliganism invariably evoke the same romance they're meant to apparently condemn. It's almost as if the offended actually find it slightly titillating themselves? Perish the thought...

What a load of old c***.

And that's all I need to know.

You can't draw the line between football nostalgia and memories of old against throwing bricks at women and storming a disable gentleman's car.

Hi again mate.

Just to clarify, can you confirm the rumours that it was started by your own fans thinking they were big and clever by goading the away fans, before having to use women stewards as human shields because they didn't actually fancy it after all their posturing?

Cheers.

Ps. Using women as human shields is abhorrent and should have been left in the 1990s as I'm sure we can all agree.

Destruction - just to be clear, when they went 1-0 in front, the 'Wall fans, unable to believe their luck that they'd scored and were actually winning, went apeshit, goading the Rotherham fans. This was met with mockery and returned in kind - just like you see at every match, just like we've seen at every match there's ever been at NYS up to today, including derbies against Leeds, Wednesday and United, all beaten, and with no behaviour seen such as was displayed by South Londons scummiest.

Of course when Rotherham scored a late winner, our fans were jubilant. If anyone thinks a quick rendition of "Going Down With the Blackpool" after taking 80+ minutes of sickening paedo/Jimmy Savile chanting in relatively good humour is "goading" then yes. You could conceivably say they were goaded.

As to hiding behind women. If a line of stewards take up a position between two sets of fans, how can anyone be said to be hiding behind them? Sounds like the justification a retard might use.

If anyone thinks anyone is to blame for trying to storm the barriers and fight their way through the police and stewards, other than the morons that did it, or that this behaviour was provoked by the other team winning and their fans singing, then they're an idiot.

Funny how the Millwall fans liked to sing about paedophiles ALL afternoon, then tried to fight their way into a stand full of little kids. Hmmmm, very suspicious.

You know how cliches become cliches don't you? The woman steward was hit by a brick in the face and laid out stone cold as me and my son were leaving the ground. What seemed to be handful of small stones (?) hit the wall above our heads at around the same time. I never saw the disabled gents car getting attacked.

OK Jockney, tumbleweed, what am I missing here?

Parts in bold fella. It's hard to take your offence seriously, when you just easily follow it up with your own kiddy-diddling joke.

But then, the outrage is all bluster anyway. You don't really give a fuck, you're just a bit sheltered.

So it's ok for Millwall, or anyone else, to throw stuff like that at us, but not for us to reflect it back, even as a bit of tongue in cheek banter. Hypocrisy much? Only difference between Rotherham and every other run down urban area in the UK is that everyone now knows about Rotherham. Tragic, but very likely true. Besides, I never wrote about offence. I simp,y gave my view of what Destruction asked. It may well be a cliche that Millwalls name is involved. But it's a fact that it's the first time this has happened since NYS opened.

Second part. That's some assumption your making. Not a correct one either.

You obviously make the women hard in Rotherham considering that poor cow took a brick full in the face and yet it's only deemed a minor injury...

"South Yorkshire Police said police and stewards had been left with minor injuries as a result of the clashes with fans, and said Rotherham supporters had also been responsible for disorder."

Damn right we do. That's why Millwalls finest wouldn't approach her, even mob handed, and had to resort to chucking bricks like cowardly little kids.

But, on a serious note, Why are you looking for reasons to justify what kicked off? I'm pretty sure reports do get exaggerated, but even if they are (and I said what I saw and didn't see). I haven't seen scenes like that since the 1980's, and it's a fact that it wasn't 'firm on firm' like the mythology goes. What were the Millwall fans going to do when they got into stands with women kids and old folks in there? I'm sure you can justify that somehow.

FAO Destruction, yes if course I can deny what you are suggesting.

All I'd need to do is look at the timing of the trouble. It was when we scored the winner, so a pure case of bad losers. Like children that don't get their own way, they reacted petulantly.

Or are you suggesting on scoring the winner in a crucial game, our family stand decided to focus on throwing a coin/bottle into the sea of sharks rather than celebrate?

That would be a family stand of a club not renowned for crowd trouble vs one that most certainly is. Should I post a video of Millwall fans fighting among themselves in a cup game vs Wigan at Wembley?

The defence is weak.

It must be pretty strange for someone to carry a brick under thier jacket for 90 mins and then to throw it at the end.

Was outside the ground Mark. Did you come to NYS this ( or possibly last) season? This occurred where they put those temporary barriers to keep fans apart going up New York Way, if you saw those. I would have thought rubble and bricks would have been cleared away (you would, wouldn't you?). But people are responsible for their own actions so, while I'd agree that it's moronic for ammo to be available, it doesn't make it any less moronic to pick up a brick at a footy match and throw it at somebody. Would you disagree?

Nah, sad c***!

That's twice you've used the 'C' word needlessly. You're not really showing a great deal of class, are you?

Yes of course I don't like Wednesday, but that has nothing to do with my post.

All I'm saying is I'm not a fan of this false ultra culture that has been introduced. First by Wednesday, but more recently by the likes of Dagenham, Aldershot, Crystal Palace and Leicester.

I just don't find it an impressive way of supporting your team.

Ultra way? What are you on about? We picked up some songs from playing in Europe, so what. We get that you hate us, sad little fucking tramps, but so what, you'll be back out with the begging buckets soon.

We call bury fans bucket shakers. We know they hate us, yet when they get in financial trouble, they want to borrow players, play a friendly for free, or even come to the club asking for donations....they are worse than tramps, more like travellers

Exactly mate.

Most of the mid 90s was Rotherham begging money, pitch hire or friendlies.

Yes we shook the buckets, I think most fans would do so to try and save the Club they love.

Wednesday didn't need to did they.........the Co-op Bank waived goodbye to how many millions to keep them out of administration?
Nice help if you can get it. ;)

I like Millwall, when I was about 12 they were throwing coins at us from the Paddock and I picked up about a fiver.

Nice of them to give us poor northerners a helping hand.

No you didn't go into admin, but there were £17 million reasons why you didn't.....all provided by the poor investors at the Co-op Bank.

You would do well to attend an English language course, it might give you a more even chance of having a debate without having to resort to foul language. Are there no moderators on here?

Oh and Paul Hurst was a Wednesday fan, hence the appeal for support for his testimonial game, if you came I'm sure Paul thanks you.

You have to put temporary barriers up to keep rival fans apart outside your ground? Sounds like there's a real hooligan problem brewing at Rotherham...
