Will be interesting to see whether Winkleman pulls the plug now

What an embarrassing failure this project has been for him, one season in the championship with little to no progress

No time for them. Disgusting how they were formed so glad AFC Wimbledon have a good chance of staying up. Shame it couldn't have been them to send them down. Embarrassing club crying like a kid snitching to a teacher because Wimbledon wouldn't put MK Dons on their scoreboard. I dislike a few teams but have respect for them as a club genuinely despise what franchise stand for at least the like of Mansfield and Lincoln earnt their league places on merit and didn't buy it. One ground I won't be throwing money at again. Went once place was a morgue full of happy clappers and people who should be old enough to know better.

The net result is that they're two divisions behind where they started and now behind AFCW.

Oh how we laughed.

They have been in League Two before though, so I doubt he'll pull the plug, I think he is emotionally invested in them, it's not purely a money thing. They'd need to drop further I think before it became a possibility. I'm not sure they'd survive if they did drop into the Conference, as I think they're dependent on providing a match-day experience for the day-trippers and they may struggle to do that down there.

Winkleman hasn't taken it too well - says is a total disaster and not what he created the club for.

Already got rid of the up and coming manager they appointed not so long ago.

If only there were some way he could circumvent having to slog through the lower leagues in order to achieve his ambitions as a club owner.

Last time in league 2 was great fun, he won't pull the plug until he can make decent money from it and someone of a similar mindset of how he feels about MK comes in. Say what you will about the man, but after all these years his passion for the team is second to none. I still think he's only missed one game in 14 years and that was due to medical necessity.

This could have massive repercussions for the club, not simply down to the fact they've dropped back down to League 2, but also that Wimbledon will be above them next season. I think most if not all of the day-trippers who just want football on their door step will remain, but a significant proportion of the genuine fans who followed them as the old Wimbledon could decide enough is enough and it hasn't worked out and will go back to supporting a club nearer to home. And at this level without the millions you get from Sky and BT Sport and longer cup runs, attendances are crucial.

Bring back Clive Platt and Gareth Edds.
Better than the rabble we have now, I can't wait for most of them to fuck off.

If this was 2007/2008 maybe. Those you're on about have followed the club for around 15 years now though, they won't just abandon their support now when they didn't in the first place when it was encouraged to do so. This is their club more than anyone's, mine included as I'm just a local MK lad.
We'll still get over 6,000 attendances, maybe over 7,000. This next managerial decision will be crucial to that.

Wait, There’s actually people following this pile of turd excuse of a football team who were Wimbledon fans pre Winklemen ever getting involved?

Still can’t beleive it was ever allowed to happen.

How many of the "6,000" actually pay?

Well even the free season tickets cost around a tenner for the Young Dons membership, and personally I've never seen a free ticket. Gutted really, I spend far too much on them. My season ticket next year will cost the same as it did in the Championship.

Will the 'delightful' Dean Lewington still be playing for them next season?

I think the number of Wimbledon FC fans who decided to support MK Dons can be counted on the thumbs of one hand.

To your question, probably. As for the remark about fans, there are a lot more than most realise.

They'll sign Izale Mcleod and piss the league.

They thought the same two years ago when they got relegated from the Championship, but they found themselves in the relegation zones come the middle of November and sacked Karl Robinson.

While I'm obviously delighted we're having the pleasure of welcoming MK to our L2 family, it's plain wrong IMO to portray poor AFCW as the victims here as they're no angels themselves. Kingstonian...Chelsea...hmm? I believe you all know what I'm referring to.

Agree selling to Chelsea and leaving Kingstonian homeless does seem a bit of a cuntish thing to do , but tbf aren't Wimbledon giving them a decent wedge to help them try and sort out a new ground? Plus K's played there rent free for 15 years.

Also Kingstonian were being assett stripped when AFCW bought the ground, so it's not like they owned it anyway.

I don't think anybody would have anything against Milton Keynes having a football league club if it was done in the right manner. A local club coming up through non league. The city of Milton Keynes wanted to lift its profile. Build a big stadium and try and find a football club to move into it preferably one which already had a higher league status. Our club was targeted back in the early 80s but thankfully the fans put a stop to it direct. Wimbledon fans couldn't and saw their club become a vicitim of an american style franchise coup. Football clubs are built on history and tradition with links to the local community. Not moved to city who see the purchase of a football club as a way to improve its national status. Hopefully MK Dons will disappear into non league never to be seen again. I suspect however even if their present owner sells another owner will step in. The main interest of course being the stadiums potential (rather than the club). MK in my opinion would be best served by using the stadium for Rugby Union. Afterall its seems the location of a stadium isnt such as issue in the egg chasing world.

A bit off-topic but I visited Milton Keynes briefly a few months ago for the first time, and I have to say I'm somewhat puzzled by the layout of the town. Where is the centre? Is there anywhere to live apart from the semi-rural districts like Stantonbury (which I travelled to from the train station)?

Admittedly I didn't see very much of the place but this video doesn't paint a much more attractive picture of it than I witnessed with my own eyes:

They should have asked Wasps to move to the MK Stadium a few years ago - that way Coventry City get to keep their stadium while Milton Keynes get a Premiership rugby team and Wasps get a bigger fanbase.

The centre is a US street layout boxed off by two dual carriageways on either side, with the shopping hub at the top of it. There's then a lot of little districts outside that area that are principally like any other town.

I'll bitch and moan about the football team all day long, but it's a great place to live.
