Lucky, lucky Dover. Should have been kicked out the league. Not sure a fine really helps anyone in these circumstances, mind.

Dover have effectively defaulted on the season - whether they could have afforded to play on or not, i'd have expected them to be demoted based on previous precedents. Gateshead and Hereford in recent years were demoted for financial irregularities and I'd argue being unable to finish the season when everyone else has found a way to fund it would fit the criteria for financial irregularities.

If Dover appeal the independent verdict, they're mad. I imagine the league may appeal though on the grounds that its soft.

For the NLN / NLS clubs, I think given the league stopped anyway and it was largely expected to from an early date, the fines are a bit un-necessary in my opinion. Maybe suspended fines would have been more than enough

have a good weekend. lovely weather :bg:
Clubs in NLN/NLS have been fined £2000 per game for not playing games. Dover have been fined £1300 per game for not playing their games. How can a League impose different fines for exactly the same offence.

You have got to admire the total lack of shame there. It’s admirable in its own way.

Dover are utter scum. I hope they go bust.

Sorry Dover fans.

Clubs are "scared" of receiving the punishment Dover have received even though the financial penalty for playing on is much greater? Right...

Yeah but how can you get fined for something that doesn't exist?

There were fixtures scheduled that some teams refused to fulfil because they decided for themselves that the season was over before the vote was actually complete. It wasn't their place to do that.

Outside looking in, with what the current Dover owner has said over the past year or so about his lowering of funding etc, unless Dover are sold to a new owner before the end of season AGM I wouldn't be surprised to see him withdraw the club from the league anyway and try and get into the Isthmian next season.

Strange he was fine with them when they changed the rules mid season on artificial pitches. But then that benefited him.
And history proved he was right. Imagine a local football club pitch in use every single day and night by hundreds of local boys girls and adults. Something benefitting the entire community.

We (Chester City FC) failed to complete a fixture in 2010 under the stewardship of a certain Steven Vaughan and were ejected from the National League and liquidated. Not much difference between Vaughan and Parmenter in my opinion.

He's threatened to take away his funding for the last 30 years.

Dover only couldn't afford to continue because Parameter presumably couldn't finance them to the £25k/week(?) they've been used to.

I suspect on a turnover to financing ratio, they're (one of) the most bankrolled in the division?

Stones have a loan approved by Sport England. However, the club’s articles limit the borrowing capacity of the club and therefore needs an E.G.M. to seek the approval of the company’s shareholders via the passing of a special resolution in order to actually take the loan.

Also, after over £150,000 of improvements, we've been given an A grade for The Vale so you lucky lot will get the chance to pay us a visit next season.

Same here, our chairman has applied for a loan. If approved he will have to call an EGM, where he will have to make a special resolution and vote it through himself as the sole shareholder. :ds:

The paragraph on Boreham Wood in that shows that the author doesn’t really have a great understanding of what’s going on.

So is the plan that Maidstone and Dorking force the resignations of the entire NL board and replace them with their own massive whoppers? Marc White's ego would be a perfect fit.

Perhaps the criteria for new NL board members should be they lead clubs that are fan owned, not bankrolled by wealthy benefactors and technically solvent. Would be a pretty small board I reckon but the dynamics might change.
