What was the reduction in transfer fee income of 1.6m? Does that mean the previous season you sold players for over that and if so what was your profit that season?

It was money from the sale of Danny Ward from Liverpool to Leicester. Our profit was around 750k, I think the year before we had an operating loss of about 100k, and the year before we were in the black again.

One of the many criticisms of the wst is that they were a bit too reliant on football fortune (of which we've been fairly lucky) which allowed us to at least stay competitive (relatively).

South Somerset District Council has confirmed that its offer to purchase and lease back property owned by YTFC, including Huish Park, remains open. It comes after the conclusion of a six-month moratorium allowing for a Community Right to Bid.

The Glovers trust activated the ACV clause which allowed the 6 month pause but, whilst they say they have had talks with interested parties, no-one has put in a bid to buy the club.

This is not good news.

Does that leave the ground vulnerable to property developers? are there any conditions/covenants restricting the site to sports use?

A lot of uncertainty over the future of the club. It's open to any sort of financial jiggery pokery. We would be paying £130k per year in rent if the deal goes through and I can't see how we would be able to buy the ground and land back for a long time.

Exactly that. No-one really trusts our current owner who doesn't have a pot to piss in by all accounts. There have been covenants in place since the ground was built, particularly around the sale of alcohol which is a big reason why we don't have a social club. This deal would have those covenants lifted i'm lead to believe, but that won't necessarily be a good thing in the circumstances. SSDC say the club is important to them and the town but money is more important.

I honestly have no sympathy for Dover - every other club is in the same position as they are but have managed to complete the season one way or another.

If Dover hadn't spent beyond their means previously they would have been able to play on - in a way the league have been more lenient with Dover than with others (Gateshead, Hereford etc)

If Kings Lynn, Weymouth and Woking can fulfil their fixtures and at the other end of the spectrum Notts and Stockport with higher expenditure but not higher grants and loans proportionately then Dover could have found a way.
The NL took away relegation so you didn't have to be overly competitive, just furlough your top earners and play your squad and youth players.
Hope they start on minus 30 pts next season. Nothing against the club, went there last year and it's a good set up but just to be fair to clubs who persevered this season there has to seen to be consequences for your actions.

Hang on in the case of Alfreton ours was for "failing to fufil" a fixture at Blyth were there had been a 9am pitch inspection and after -4 tempatures overnight. The fixture was as such postponed.
The other fixture at Spennymoor we recieved notification from Spennymoor that they were going to play the game

That's very poor from the league if so.

As it stands Pools are very poor value at 12s.

We’re lacking numbers and quality in key areas and it’s apparent the budget is low. We’re a mess off the field as well, club is virtually shutdown, no sponsors at all.
Amazing how things can turn around.
