The inevitable is starting to happen. Our Chairman has today registered yet another new company, this one with its address at Huish Park.

Nature of business? “development of building projects”

The other director? Jed McCrory.

He'll soon come out of hiding for his regular 6 monthly message to the fans telling us there's nothing to be concerned about.
Jed McCrory? Jesus that can't be good.

Exactly. We've known all along that Priestnall had a lot of connections with McCrory and to be fair to him he never denied it. As predicted he's come out of hiding to respond to some of our fans on twitter.

"'There isn’t anything to update supporters on at present. We are putting the squad together for the new season, events are being cancelled because they’re losing money, no one has bought the club, I am in advanced discussions with various investment partners"

"Yes I have been approached by a group to buy the club, this happens all the time as I’ve said many times. I am also in discussion with various people to invest in club/land. Nothing finalized as yet. So nothing to update. I can’t openly announce every discussion I have."

Big news

National League clubs have voted in favour of resolutions to introduce a salary cap and an ethics committee. Clubs voted in favour despite the League & Board’s recommendations that clubs vote against both resolutions. The League’s AGM now has concluded.

What is this fresh madness? £900,000 at Step 1 and £540,000 at Step 2 proposed.

Is that total wage budget for a year?? I can see the brotherhood having something to say about this.

The cap idea is a bit of a nonsense though because it doesn’t appear to, in any way, be tied to income. I’m not against one that is, but it seems slightly bizarre to, for instance, restrict Notts to a total playing budget that is covered by our season ticket income before anything else is taken into account at all.

Didn’t the PFA just sue the EFL for trying to introduce a salary cap and got it overturned? Presumably the same thing would happen here.

As well as the salary cap, the Spectator are reporting from the 19th July that the one metre plus rule and facemasks are no longer mandatory and venues can open up at full capacity.

Away games are back on!

Yes they did, EFL brought it in, got scrapped halfway through the season because of the PFA.

Same thing will happen here. I'm all for a cap but don't believe one cap for all clubs is the right way about it, if you want clubs to stop spending what they don't have, the cap needs to be a % of income with additional rules on how that income is calculated ( for example not just an owner sponsoring the side of a sleeve for millions to add to income)

Meh, we'll just fly new signings out to LA for 2 weeks and have their family meet our owners.

Would the salary cap include stuff like conditional bonuses?

I don’t even mind that, really. People should be able to chuck their money at it if they want, but it’s when it’s done as a loan that needs banning.

Yeah it did in the EFL, including most money given to the player including signing on fees, bonuses etc.

Depends where the money comes from. That was tongue in cheek. But if it's a dodgy owner using money from one business to try and buy their way out of a league causing problems with both business and football club to go bust then it needs looking at.

Makes sense but should be purely based on turnover from the previous years takings, a cap for all at one amount is bloody ridiculous but we’re talking about the most useless league board on the planet so no surprise.

Well it appears it's the clubs not the board, same in EFL the clubs voted it through it was only the PFA that got it overturned as they see a budget cap as there players wages going down.

Same here according to the tweet the clubs voted this through against the advice of the board.

This is all very well but overzealous SAGs are likely to override some of this guidance.

No chance that we allow away fans into the ground in 2021.
