The league really, really need to be clear of what the rules are.

How many positives is it for a game to be called off now that those who don't have it don't have to self isolate.

Also needs to be clear that players not having two vaccinations now isn’t an excuse with everyone having had that opportunity IMO.

Needs a clear number of positives needed for a game to be postponed, and otherwise the game is on. If a team’s players have chosen not to be vaccinated and have to isolate then tough, you’re playing the youth team.

100%. If it was me I’d say the match is on regardless, you play the youth team. It’s the only way to stop teams taking the piss.

Tough luck if you’ve got genuine cases but if that’s the case then clubs obviously need to ramp up their protocols.

I think the double vacc rule would probably have to be enforced around October, probably a touch early for 18-30's right now.

But agree wholeheatedly with the sentiment.

Also. We don't need names. But we do need numbers. How many? Dover told us two, well no sorry, far from enough.

Given that everybody was only able to have a first dose 9 weeks ago, it’s probably not as cut and dry as that. Rumours are only 6 of our squad are double vaccinated.

(I apologise to all Yeovil fans)

Yeah, fair enough on the timeframe, as Stocky says probably a few weeks leeway needed on that.

Either way, I don’t understand the rules or the protocols clubs are supposed to be following. Notts had a positive case a couple of weeks ago - Rodrigues who had been in training and played in a pre-season friendly a couple of days earlier. He went into isolation and we were fine to get on with it, so I don’t really understand how that’s happened while clubs like Dover are shutting down over two positives.

Given our club essentially relegated ourselves in the name of covid, expect us to go way overboard with our reaction

Because there are no rules, clubs will do what is best for them.

The NL and EFL when we were there need to actually do their job and govern and provide rules on this.

But considering it only takes 3 players to be away on international duty for a club to postpone, it shouldn't be much difference for isolation.

The famous ‘Newport County Loophole’ - get a weeks rest when a few players get called up for Wales Under 15s

I agree with everyone by the way and clubs should play on, you play on when 6,7,8 or whatever players are out injured so why should covid make any difference. That's why there is a squad of 20 plus players

I don't however agree with forcing the youth team to play, they are not registered first team players.

We’ve gone full hipster and appointed a specialist set piece coach. Obviously it is a guy who is only 32, has coached Getafe’s youth team, managed in Sweden and has a sideline writing for the Guardian. All very modern Notts.

Still, if we can stop conceding from corners that would be a big step forward.

We have 18 contracted or loan players in our squad. Of those 2 are out injured for at least a month, 2 are keepers and 1 buggered off to the States in the close season to play football with Justin Bieber and says he isn't coming back. That leaves 14 to choose from and reportedly we have 5 isolating.

Oh ffs, gutted.

Surely the club will be explaining a bit more about what's happened here?
They’re not saying numbers which is weird. It feels like last season all over again and I’m absolutely certain there isn’t a club more cursed than us in the past 10 years

Yeah, there needs to be some transparency here. The club have fucked up if they haven't made sure the players who can be double vaccinated are double vaccinated,

I agree, but don't forget just because you are double vaccinated doesn't stop you getting covid, suffering symptoms or passing it on.

It's not a magic thing that makes covid disappear, but apart from timings of when they were available there really is no excuse that every player should be vaccinated.

I meant more that if enough of our players were double vaccinated and took PCRs and got negative results, they wouldn't have to isolate. I didn't mean that the vaccine equals immunity.

Which away fans are going to have their plans well and truly fucked over from the new BT sport pick, surely they’ll replace it.
Our game Wealdstone v Woking could be a possible as its a short journey for away fans and not so far for those poor presenters to travel

True, guess they aren't going to say, but it was only what 9 weeks ago that under 30s were offered the first jab. NHS website still says that second jab is between 8-12 weeks, so depends whether they all took the first jab in that first week or not.

Perhaps the club didn't want them all taking the first and second jab at the same time due to side effects forcing them out for a day or two, maybe they have been spread out to avoid the whole squad being out at the same time with mild conditions.

Or maybe we are that tinpot and all our players have refused the vaccine because they don't want to be spied on for the rest of their life with government implants.

Solihull v wrexham might be the obvious replacement particularly if Solihull decide no Wrexham fans can attend ( less than 95 hours to go and they still haven't made a decision)

Actually that would be a fair shout, both full time clubs, some Wealdstone players have paper rounds to do so need an early night.
