Looks like you're all running scared of Boreham Wood now
1st thing in the morning going to put all my family's savings on them for the title. 8/1 on Ladbrokes :)

I know it’s irrelevant now and didn’t affect the result, but the Grimsby penalty decision is just even more bizarre now seeing it on the replay (1.50 below), it’s literally just a header away, and I don’t even think it’s in the box, looks on the line to me at the most. Honestly, NL officials.

My only other observations are the first goal was poor keeping from the new lad, and the second was a complete shit show from us - hospital ball from Brindley to Palmer, needless foul from Lacey (keeper would have easily got there) then shocking defending with (as Jacob said) our two biggest players in the wall, leaving Waterfall with an easy task on the back post to nod across for Efete to finish (shame for him he didn’t get any credit at the time!)

Obviously didn’t matter in the end, but I think that is actually the worst penalty decision I’ve ever seen.

It’s up there with Coventry in the playoffs. Just a robust clearance, at worst. Absolutely no idea what else he has seen.

It’s worse than that one as a decision (obviously the ramifications of that were way worse), I could at least see with the Coventry one what the ref thought he’d seen, he was just wrong. This one… absolutely no idea? Cameron just heads the ball.

Yeah definitely not a pen that and not really how I remembered it. Must be the way that McAtee goes down.

Again, not that it matters now but I'm as sure Jaros about getting to that ball after that Lacey foul on second and third viewing there. Looked like it could have been 50/50 to me. Got to be a red if there's any doubt.

How's Cameron got away with that shove on Sousa at about 5:30 too?

Would have been nice for the camera to pan across the away end after the goals too.

I thought Lacey was gone at the time, can’t really tell on the video, couldn’t really have complained if it had been red IMO.

Roberts is so good man, team’s falling apart a bit but at least he is fully back even if we’re wasting him a bit out of position. We should just adopt our 2020 tactic of giving him the ball at every possible opportunity.

It looks to be the lino that said the 'foul' was inside the box by the way the ref doesnt give the decision until after he looked at the lino.. and with the lino being directly in line with the challenge, makes the decision even worse.

I think he definitely gets there, even if it’s on the slide, which makes it all the more annoying that Lacey fouled your striker, although I do think Abrahams was quite clever in running across him knowing he might make contact. Just unforgivable having Cameron and Wootton, at 6’4 and 6’3 in the wall though, instead of defending the back stick, I don’t know if that’s IB or the players on the field that decide that but it cost us a point at least.

Obviously the wrong decision and never a pen, but seeing that for the first time and considering where the ref is and what he sees, he could easily see that as a shove or a head into the back of McAtee.

I get it was never a pen, but I can at least see why the ref thought it was, agree with SoC its the way McAtee goes down that make it look like a foul.

Its easy to see it was just a headed clearance from the TV gantry, not so much from the refs position.

Sorry, have to disagree with you. Cameron could have maimed that poor fella for life with that challenge. Disgraceful actions of a so-called professional. A 3 game ban wouldn't even be near enough punishment for that possible career-ending tackle.

Plus, I can't stand the fucker and he has stupid hair.

Yeah, I remember thinking at the time that your wall looked big. Frustrating way for you to lose that, scrappy way for us to win it. After 8 back to back away defeats I'll most certainly take it. Cheers for the pub recommendations too to both you and jacobncfc. Ended up going to Fellows, Morton and Clayton and bumping into a few people, one of which was an old school mate I'd not seen in well over a decade. Then managed to sneak into The Canal House by answering the secuity's "where are you from?" with "I live in London".

Cameron deserves to give a pen away every game with that awful thing he's got atop his head

I don’t get it, is he doing it to take the piss or does he genuinely think it looks good?

I think the former, seems a bit of a ‘character’. Grew it out in November when he was doing the moustache thing, which genuinely did look funny as a combination.
