Barnet v Pools postponed due to one of our players testing positive for Covid.

Oh FFS

Seriously a game gets called off cos one player gets it? We've already travelled down and all that as well.

Just PPG the season now and have done with it.

Boooo! It is what it is, certainly won't be the last fixture casualty we get this season.

And Soup is indeed correct, PPG finish, Coronavirus Champs, I'll take it.

Already buzzing for the CovidChamps derby with Barrow.

So on a general note then, what happens to the team's fixtures if they get a case? Will Barnet have to quarantine and forfeit the cup next weekend?

The club have said several players are isolating until they get tested.

Im surprised clubs are having overnight stays anyway. At a time when clubs are financially struggling to spend money on hotels which is not essential seems ridiculous

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Shots at Eastleigh. We all got a bit overexcited after Tuesday's unexpected result, it's so unusual to see the team play on the front foot.
Impossible to predict, Mo Bettemer is red-hot at the moment,so we should at least score, but possible problems at centre-back, so a wild guess, 1-1.

He brought in loads of new players though didnt he? The squad needs to gel.

I googled him the other day. He does look like Bobby Davro. I'm not going to argue against that.
He needs to put players in their actual position before that happens.

So Pools find out at 10-40 that the games off.
Where they informed by Barnet that it could be a possibility,as a player was being tested?

We've always done overnight stays but agree London doesn't need to be, you can train it there in a few hours, although maybe coach and cheap digs are still cheaper than peak time train prices for 20 odd people.

Problem for us is that we have the most amount of travelling of all clubs here so unless we want a shitty away record and risk crap preparation then what option do we have.

I understand staying overnight but with very little income teams who pay additional costs to stay over at the moment seems odd.

Teams are constantly testing players and results come through by text I think. They can come through at any time of day.

Telling your opponents that there are test results pending is pointless as all clubs are doing it.

We’ve just announced four first team players have texted positive, but our game today is still going ahead

So how is it then that Notts have 4 down yet Barnet get one and call the game off?

Do the clubs have a say? Presumably we’re happy to go ahead without them.

It's fucking madness.

If clubs make the decision then it's open to allsorts of dodgepot tactics

Yes. If it was one of the brothers today instead of Maidenhead at home (no disrespect ‘head fans) I suspect we might have been more minded to ask for a postponement.

It does seem like the choice lies with the club with the positive test. We have a tiny squad so realistically if a few players are out we're going to make every effort to postpone.

I'd imagine if both teams agree to play on it's okay but if either of them don't want to it gets pulled?

Not necessarily - presumably Chicksen, Thomas and Sam are three of them who we left out as a precaution in the week anyway.

Roberts the other one.

Hope they know what they’re doing.

Maybe not - Kelly-Evans, Brindley, O’Brien and Roberts.

Roberts obviously a big miss and not having a right back isn’t ideal but we should just about have enough still there.

We have 17/18 first team players.

1 positive case with “a number” of players having to self isolate until they receive a negative result. We only need 7 to literally not be able to field a team.
Can’t promote any from our youth sides as they’re not in the first team bubble.
