Notts at pretty much full strength, so a 1-0 loss incoming. What you saying about your line upAberstone and Stoney Ground? Few changes?
We’ve been crying out to change the midfield and it helped with us getting forward better. Interesting going 4 at the back. Fair result in the end.

We were very flat first half, could see why Maidenhead had won points off the big sides, they're organised and have a front two who work in tandem and are sharp. That Kelly looks a decent player.

Second half we were just a completely different team attacking the Cheadle End, got the goal and never looked back. Spreading Maidenhead all over the place. Amazing what a half time tea cup throw around can do. 3-0 flattered us over the 90 though.
Kelly is playing out of his skin this season.
Has been scouted numerous times over the years but had a lot of injuries that have set him back.
Will be surprised if Peterborough don't snap him up.

Hurst still boring you all to death? at least he had some decent players when he was with us, just chose not to play them. Unlike our Lidl 20p sticker side at the moment.

Boden apart, Boreham don't have a footballer among them, they're just muscle-bound freaks who mob the man with the ball and push him off it. When they've got it, they barely know what to do with it. Boden looked embarrassed to be their "token" footballer. Are THEY what football has come to? :dk: (yay! they work on my laptop!).

It’s tragic when Scott Boden is your designated guy who can actually play football.

Best defence in the league by miles but I don’t think they’ll score enough goals to win the title. Their small squad will hit them shortly when they get into the final 3 months having to play 7 games each month possibly more if their trophy and fa cup runs continue.

I’ve said it before but if they win the league with will evans at the back and Scott boden up front then anything truly can happen. Both are rotten footballers who shouldn’t be anywhere near a title winning side.

Their manager must be incredible getting this tune out of their squad. Outside of Boden and Evans I couldn't name one other player, and them only because they used to play for us!

Edit: forgot about that prick Ashring or whatever his name is, but after that I really am struggling

I wanted Garrard over McMahon when we got rid of Taylor.

I know… three page thread called ‘who do we want next’ - our fans are atrocious at times.

Having said that there are some very serious rumours flying around (non football related) which if true will see him leave the club without a doubt - I can’t see the club having suspended him for using colourful language at Maidenhead or for having a bust up with a player, that’s part and parcel of the game.

Yea I mean I don't want to derail this thread with off topic stuff but I when I saw the suspension I immediately thought the Trust must think they're going to sack him... You'd keep it on the down low and deal with it internally otherwise if it's just a slight attitude adjustment needed, wouldn't you. You just wouldn't hang the dirty washing out like that if you plan on retaining him.

You can see that Grimsby are a good side in bad form. They were solid but didn't look dangerous for the most part.

We should have put it to bed first half really, didn't exactly miss loads of clear chances but we should have converted what we had into better and in the end we were indebted to Lainton a couple of times.

Palmer looks like he could be exactly what we need, he wins loads in the air and not just banging it anywhere, also showed a lot more to his game with his feet and vision/passing....It didn't all work but he only met his team mates a couple of hours before kick off. A bit worried that Mullin was limping again after a 50 yard run at the end, he's probably still not over his injury.

Hes an obvious choice for you guys I'd have thought. Seems to know the SE player market really well.
Obvious to all except our MD who only gets what he knows, McMahon was part of our youth coaching set up when we had an academy a few years back whilst he played part time. They didn’t interview anyone else as he didn’t even get an interview was their first choice just given the job. We’ve gone from ultra defensive Taylor to don’t worry about defending McMahon, the two could not be further apart, but it is a million times better to watch.

It really is bizarre that Garrard has been there all these years when it's clear he is a very good manager at this level.

My only conclusion is that something DODGY goes on there with him and his contract. Case closed.

Thing with them/him is they seem to have every other year off, though, which he probably couldn’t get away with at a bigger club.

They made the play-offs in 17/18, then nearly went down in 18/19, then made the play-offs again the next year, then finished bottom half last season with Tshimanga, and are now going for the title despite replacing him with Scott Boden. Weird club.

Seen them as well, assuming you mean... and how can I put this without getting the board in hot water… the ‘#metoo’ stuff? I mean, when it could conceivably be that OR the West Ham thing flaring up again, OR threatening to bite someone’s nose off in public, it’s.. not great? I see Derbys Police wouldn’t comment either way too on whether they were investigating anything.

If he does get the boot, at least there are some talented young managers around, and your board has shown already they are willing to go for them, and pay.

Of course the ultimate would be if you went for Andy Woodman.

We don't have BEEF with the Grimsby boys and we could do with keeping it that way. We're like a lightning rod atm.

I'm enjoying Keith Hill on Radio Humberside. It's been dour as fuck this season with so much Hurst and McCann on there. Hill speaks with a bit of passion at least.

Regarding PH boring us, the start of the season we were purring. Playing some proper nice stuff but we're obviously massively struggling now. Cheers for not being able to afford to offer McAtee a decent deal though, he's our best player by an absolute mile. Gonna be great watching him score past you next season.

Yeah he would have gone after last season at any of the larger clubs. Massive underperformance

I expect he’ll throw the towel in when Relegation is confirmed.

McAtee wasn’t going to re-sign for us he wasn’t interested. I wonder if he looks at his brother sometimes and thinks is that what you can do with hard work.

I’m doubtful we will play you next year, expecting a Boston situation and be dumped down to say, the NPL.

Can’t comment any further really as it’s all hearsay. Derbyshire police saying they can’t comment basically says to me that they are involved but it’s ongoing.

I just pray it gets resolved quickly. We can’t have something like this hanging over the club whilst we try to continue with a promotion push.
