The euphoria in Halifax after this even eclipses their greatest moment in history in beating our team of hungover still half pissed players in the FA Trophy final.

To be fair their back catalogue of great moments only dates back to 2008 so you can see why it's up there.

He may look like an American Midwest farmer of indeterminate age (he is actually in his mid 30s, which blows my mind), but Pete Wild has done a great job at Halifax. Expected them to struggle this year after losing 3/4 key players, but he has them up there again. In the unlikely event Burchnall gets the push, he’d be near the top of my list as replacement.

I’m not saying this is in a salty way or anything but he’s been linked with several bigger and higher league clubs yet he’s not gone as of yet. He’s only recently just signed a new 2 year deal and he always bangs on about the project he’s building at Halifax. He seems to thrive off the underdog, small budget story etc. I don’t seem him leaving us unless he gets a mental offer somewhere else.

Ok on the correct thread this time.

I can’t believe how calm the Notts fans seem about last night, had that been us we would be in full blown TRIGGERED mode with a 95 page thread on the Fishy asking where it had all gone wrong.

Don't flatter yourselves sweetcheeks, we've beaten Man City and Man Utd at The Shay. Grimsby and Notts are NOTHING to us. :ds:

As for us, we desperately need some physicality, especially in midfield, an Oyeleke style player. I’d take a punt on the lad at Weymouth, and Woking’s no8 looked decent too. Could do with Rawlinson back as well - just someone to fuck head away anything that comes into the box. Hopefully either he or Cameron might make Yeovil at the weekend, the CB from Wednesday doesn’t look ready for first team football yet, despite Wendys claiming he was on the verge of their starting XI
Not sure he'd leave for a club in this league. He'll be managing in the football league with us or not.

I think this contract will be his last with us. I fail to see how we would be able to afford him next time it's up for renewal

Was right in front of me - one of your coaching staff (presumably the assistant?) shouted something at Burchnall as he was walking off to the other end of the pitch that he clearly wasn’t happy with, then people piled in from everywhere.
Possibly why is Rodrigues such a fairy? Immediately springs to mind. Who knows. Not that fussed either. Isnt the first time it's happened won't be the last

Upon reflection I don't actually know if we did hugely improve the last 10 mins with our formation change - as our goal and other huge chance both came from the Tozer long throw actually coming off..

Last 10 mins are a bit of a blur with the goal, the long delay with the unfortunate Chesterfield injury, and then our big chance at the end.

We could have even won the game in the end, which would have been absurd. A draw was a good result in the end but it shouldn't mask over how bad that first half was.

Yet to be convinced by Parkinson, he seems a very stand-offish and distant manager almost to the point of being a bit strange, doesn't look like there's any great harmony or that they are playing 100% for him.

I think we will know more about PP and the team by Christmas.
We have had a tough set up fixtures to start the season plus because of injuries we have not played the same players in 2 consecutive matches.
We know we have weaknesses but expect that to be remedied in January.
We should pick up more points in the next 9 matches than in the last 9 if we do we will be top 3 by Christmas if not PP will be in trouble

We’ve done this sort of thing on a pretty much monthly basis for the entire time I’ve been watching us. You can’t take it too seriously or you’d just give up.

Jesus has this turned into ‘Your Say at The Shay’ or whatever Halifax’s forum is called. As I said on Saturday, we’re a bunch of gutless easytoplayagainst fannies. You beat a bunch of gutless fannies. Many congratulations.

I’ve just managed to watch the goals. DKE and the keeper take some blame for the first, but Rodrigues pissing about on the edge of the box sets it up in the first place. The second is a good finish, but is that Sam ‘tracking back’ for the third? The fact that he remains anywhere near the first team is an absolute piss take of our shit recruitment.

It is Sam tracking back. He’s obviously hopeless, but lol at our midfield for that winning goal being… just Eli Sam? A striker who can’t run, in midfield on his own, in the 100th minute? Banter team.

A piss poor performance from us. Everyine enjoying themselves in weatherspoons but once in the ground we created gger all. Boreham have a very good side here and no surprise they are up there. WWe have too many lightweight players in the squ.ad. No pace either which is a worry, Addai was looking good but he is out . We badly need some players in now.

Thought we played really well last night and should have come home with the three points. You just knew the penalty miss would come back to bite us in the arse, especially as their 25k-a-week striker is always likely to nab a goal. Concerned about the rate we are conceding late goals but can't fault the performance overall.

And fair play to the Wrexham turn out, not sure where the extra few thousand fans have come from but 9k for a midweek non-league game is impressive, fair play.

our highest ever attendance in the Conference, and the largest midweek league game attendance since 1979

Resignation. We’ve e changed owners, managers and players and we head relentlessly downwards. Last year was our lowest finish in history, 159 years and I’m betting we can beat that this year.
No club has a God given right to even exist never mind be in the Football league and I’m just not into blaming refs, bad luck or gypsy curses.
We are where we are because that’s what we deserve.
The players deserve extra training, the manager deserves being put on notice that if we lose at Yeovil he’s got to go.
The fans who go to Yeovil after the last week or so deserve a free pie from the club at half time.

Yes. Although not sure we’ve had as big a ‘sickener’ as that since losing to 10-man Exeter at home in injury time the year we were relegated. But as you say, you get used to it.

Just need to try and scrape something at Yeovil on Saturday now, even a 0-0 would do, then a week off the league with a (hopefully) straightforward game at Tamworth, allowing us time to get Slocombe and Rawlinson/Cameron back.

However, lose that and last night’s meltdown would seem minor in comparison, some fans still haven’t forgiven Burchnall for Hornchurch-gate!

I think our problems are eminently solvable. With Slocombe and Cameron in the team our PPG is the best in the league, apparently, so that's a start. Then I just think he needs to hook the fourth forward in favour of another central midfielder. As chaotic as we are, Roberts, Wootton and Rodrigues are all creating and scoring goals at a heck of a rate. That's a luxury to have - we just need to be normal and organised behind them. But the only solution to anything that IB seems to have this season is just to get another forward into the team.

Our approach was so refreshing and successful at the back end of last season because it was based on attitude more than anything else IMO. It wasn't actually that gung-ho as a line up - we were playing five at the back and three pretty orthodox central midfielders, but they were encouraged to be brave and get forward. Since then it's like it's gone to his head and he thinks we can just play no holding midfielder at all, or stick a striker in there, and that's fine. It's like when Pep loses the plot before a big CL game and decides he's randomly playing eight attacking midfielders, except it's a league game with Weymouth and he's decided we must get Kairo Mitchell into the team as a left winger at all costs.

Fairly entertaining game between ourselves and Solihull, contrary to popular opinion. Josh Umerah is so damn frustrating as he’s getting himself into good positions but never seems to look up before having a strike. Every chance he had last night (at least 3) went straight to the keeper when he should be scoring at least one of them.

Best bit of our game last night was when Lawson D'ath, who was summarising on BBC Somerset, said "I've just found out who the ref is, I hate him"

Looking at Barnet for a second, just realised that we have only played 3 teams below 10th so far this season - 7 of our games have been against the current top 10.

No matter how shit we are/were, that is a horrendous run of games to begin your season. 3 unbeaten now, need to hit the ground running.
Played the hard games with Kewell in charge, then when the easy ones come round Brennan takes over. :dk:

That statistic seems unlikely seeing as nearly every Grimsby player to appear this season has a higher win ratio than Slocombe and Cameron. Six Grimsby players have appeared in all ten games and thus have a PPG of 2.30, Alex Hunt (9 games) is on 2.56, whereas Slocombe and Cameron represent the highest PPG among all your squad at 2.14. Apropos of little, Luke Coulson of Bromley has a PPG of 3 after four games, and I hope he doesn't play on Saturday.

But anyway, what's Cameron's injury situation? Hope he's okay and it's not a recurrence of last season's injury.

Point probably a fair result last night.

Absolutely battered them for the first five minutes and then kings Lynn were well on top. Hall probably could have done better with a chance before half time.

Secomd half we were pretty awful. Kings Lynn miss a penalty (not quite sure how he missed the rebound!) and we clear one off of the line. Should have won it with the last kick of the game. Powell smashing the bar from close range.

Win at Dover on Saturday and yesterday’s point will look decent.

The PPG stat is nice stat but all your fixtures with that trio were against teams that are now outside the top half of the table.

True. Even Wrexham! It's obviously going to make a difference, though - Rawlinson and Cameron are the only real tall/physical players we have aside from Wootton. We struggle with that even with them in the team, without them it's total chaos. I'm pretty sure we aren't conceding seven goals in the last 20 mins of two successive games with them in the team. Whether we win them is another matter entirely.

Sounds like we’re ending Doyle’s four-month long retirement anyway. That’ll sort it out.

I wouldn't be worried

You've played 4 of the top 7. You've got 4 teams in the bottom 7 coming up. Wins those and you'll be fine
