Fine, I’m in as well. Disgraceful to disallow that. Justice for Chicksen.

We were a bit unlucky on the equaliser as well - you can just see Nemane heading back to the side of the pitch he was meant to be on with a big old Mr. Bump bandage, having been attacked by the vicious Halifax thugs.

It’s the one you’ve all been waiting for, the David versus Goliath humbling at The Shay. A couple of thoughts:
- Obviously it should never have got that desperate, but we had both a clear penalty and goal ruled out at 2-2, but what are you gonna do, NL refs and that.

- Eli Sam should never, ever, play for my club again after his shameful actions for the winner, albeit a truly great strike by Warburton.

Still looking for that "penalty" to be honest, where is it? And the shot from behind the goal, an angle not even shown in our own highlights, clearly shows our keeper was obstructed for your "goal". You'll never see that though, no matter how hard you look, just as I'll never see your illusory "penalty". Ce'st la vie :ds:

Meanwhile, Bradbury almost has his legs snapped at the ankles by the vicious Notts thugs, yet HE gets the red card when the coward feigns a head injury when Bradbury remonstrates with him. So there's that. :bdick:

Penalty for me. You can see the shirt getting tugged. The clearly simulated dive afterwards lost it for him.

I agree that I dont see anything wrong with the goal. Chicksen wasn't touching the keeper, he's entitled to stand where he was. Poor Keeper position/ defenders not offering him enough protection for me.

Lucky Halifax.
He's obstructing the keeper. Learn the rules.:ffs:

The disallowed goal is fair enough to be honest, Chicksen clearly fouling the ‘keeper. Blatant pen, though, can’t really see it in the video but the defender is pretty much pulling Wootton’s shirt off. Ref is the wrong side to see it, so can’t really blame him.

Biggest moment is probably the howler from
the young ‘keeper for the first Halifax goal. We were in no trouble really at that point, handed them a bit of initiative and hope out of nowhere.

Burch says that Pete Wild waited behind for him to apologise for his coaching staff’s actions at full time. Disgraceful, whatever it was, points deduction surely possible.
Dream on. :fl:

Of course, the howler from OUR keeper doesn't count, that was just a touch of genius from YOUR player, right? :fl:

Listen chuck, were ALL one-eyed about our teams, only some of us own up to it though. :fl:

It's only based off the most easily accessible stats, so goals, assists etc.

Any in depth analysis of his performance would expose how limited he is but that data isn't available to people without paying crazy money.

Best performing player for Southend is Steve Arnold the goalkeeper, by quite a distance. Wouldn't even know who to give it to outfield. Bridge has been very frustrating, at time very unwilling to cross the damn ball, preferring to take on the maker over and over. And last Saturday his touch was appalling, like he'd forgotten he was a footballer.

You think? I think he just stands there and the keeper (Johnson) just runs into him in a bid to get the ball. He’s under no obligation to move. Also a clear tug on Brennan’s (?) shirt before he nods it in and the ref blows up as well. But yeah, the pen should have been given. Also an unreal save from Johnson just after from the next corner.

Ah well, water under the bridge now, but it shows the fine margins of the game, any of those three count and it’s showing a bit of character to come back and win after being pegged back , instead of gutless, spineless players, etc. There really aren’t many shades of grey in football these days, if there ever were.

I’m not sure we’d have picked up many plaudits for winning the game 3-2 against 10 men tbh, especially after Saturday. ‘Nearly blew it’ would have been the headline instead of ‘actually blew it’.

Anyway on to Saturday, and the anticipated return of our former Captain Fantastic. Hmm.

Nah I think people still would have been pretty happy, put it down to a stupid 7 minute spell in an otherwise pretty good away performance, instead of the complete and utter disaster it seemed. Like I say, fine margins.

But yes, fascinating to see if MD will be on the bench tomorrow..

An actual quote from James Rowe about Carlines injury: "The surgeon said he has never seen anything like it in terms of a professional sports person. He is a top surgeon who deals with a lot of players at a lot of levels. It is more an injury you get an impact from in say a fatal car crash. His knee is completely severed off."

Rowe is clearly upset at dropping points at a mid table also ran. That said the challenge is yet another thing Wrexham got away with as they march towards abject mediocrity.

Sounds like whoever did it is lucky that no one has pressed charges. Honestly they should probably lay low for a while

I just can't believe he sent him our for the second half given that his knee was hanging off and he had suffered from a fatal car crash.

Well the full extent of the injury either wasn't apparent, or JR is a massive sadist. Choose your poison
