- Notts County v Stockport County

- Solihull Moors v FC Halifax Town

- Torquay United v Dagenham & Redbridge

- Weymouth v Wrexham

Discuss!

After last Tuesday's disappointment v Boreham Wood we could do with a positive performance/result against a Stockport side I still think will run out champions... Hopefully we will have a go, not try and contain, or at least some kind of balance between the two with the emphasis on attacking.

Roberts won't make this one, but hopefully Wes Thomas will at least make the bench, giving us another viable option other than 4-2-3-1...

Lainton has been announced as being fit again after his nasty concussion injury a few weeks back, but still might not play. we have missed 2 games on the bounce due to Covid so hopefully its the rest the players needed

also been some news that Wrexham fans have been trying to buy tickets, so expect everyone to get the Spanish Inquisition when going through the turnstiles at Weymouth tonight!

predict a 3-1 win for the reds

I'd be thinking more Operation Yewtree if our fans are trying to sneak in to see us play.

I’m hoping to say diolch to Wrexham after tonight’s matches.

Six pointers at both ends of the table.

Notts County and Stockport both made decent starts but both need to improve. I do fancy Notts for this one actually. 2-0.

Interesting battle at the bottom between Weymouth and Wrexham. Score draw that one.

Should be a good game, a theme of Notts under Ardley right through from the relegation season has been that we’re good in games against teams near the top and hopeless against teams near the bottom, so hopefully that continues.

Just hope he resists the temptation to play all three of Doyle, Reeves and O’Brien in the name of solidity. Makes us far too negative.

We have two or three with injuries now and now Asa Hall suspended for three games. Matt Buse normally covers him but with not a fit full back at all now as Sherring is injured too. So two midfielder at full back. Evans who has been playing in a more attacking role will play in central midfield. Expect Walters to play up front.

A shocking performance on Saturday so hope a better performance and a vital three points.

I mean being cautious is all well and good, if you plan to at some point try and win the game - don’t understand why at 0-0 against a Boreham Wood side unchanged from a long trip up to Hartlepool 3 days earlier we didn’t go for it after an hour by bringing on Rodrigues/Sam/both, instead of waiting until they scored in the 71st minute when it was too late.

Just checked the fixture list because after watching some of Ardley’s press conference I thought we must be playing Bayern Munich rather than Stockport.

He’s going to shit himself again so a Barrow style twatting is on the cards.

Just what you want when you’re the pre-season favourites with a stated aim of winning the league is your manager calling the opposition the best team in the league ahead of kick-off...

Even game at ML but nice goal by Reeves to put us ahead after a pretty weak effort by the Stockport left back. Feels like we are getting a bit of space to run in midfield too, and County look a little unsure at the back, but I’m not sure the goals are done yet. County look dangerous on the break, and Slocombe had to be at his best to stop Rooney. Entertaining clash so far.

Even Welsh Prem clubs wouldn’t hire Keates.

Thankfully we should be able to put all this behind us soon. Get someone who has a clue in. Absolutely dreadful.

Decent game, two good footballing sides. Think we’ve edged it and 1-0 is probably fair enough, but could go either way second half.

Most annoying thing from a Notts perspective is that we, predictably, are a yard sharper than we are when playing anyone below the top ten.

Notts deserve the lead IMO. Been the better, more structured side. I don't even know what formation we're playing. Why is Williams playing in this weird hybrid wing back role? Makes no sense and has cost us the goal really.

We play in moments so we're not out of it by any means but I'm not in love with us at all.

I'm sticking by my 2-0 to Notts.

We’ve been fucking terrible. Hoof! Hoof! Hoof!

Credit to Notts though they have been very organised and solid.

I won’t mind if we see it through and chalk it down as a professional job, obviously, but Christ this second half has been tedious and negative from us.

Fair play, call it a professional job, very much had the handbrake on but restricted Stockport to no chances really.

For all the criticism Ardley gets for our lack of ambition in attack (a lot of it fair IMO), can’t deny that he knows how to set up a defence. We are extremely solid.

Fair does, we won 3-2 with a last minute winner but we shouldn't be finding ourselves 2 nil down. Awful first half.

Keates so confident in his ability he let the 'muff start with a two goal head start.

As soon we gifted you the opener I was worried as I knew from reading this forum that you’d be incredibly difficult to score against.

Great three points for Notts. I thought their lads dug in very well. We barely had a sniff of an equaliser.

Gannon got it all wrong tonight. Williams at left back for the second half? Kitching is our main threat for me.

I said it after games we've won, we really need to improve and tonight showed I was right unfortunatley

Got absolutely battered with 10 men at Torquay but defended well and had some much needed missing luck to get the win, you’re welcome everyone. McCallum with the winner. Some winnable Xmas games for us maximum points please.

We were well and truly ‘Solihulled’. They’ve literally had 2 shots 2 goals. Both excellent strikes, one being a goal of the season contender. How we’ve got nothing out of that game I will never know. Absolutely battered them.

Osborne is a cheating git. Could have easily got a red for a nasty challenge and it summed it up when their commentator said his must useful contribution of the game was being in the refs ear constantly.

Never mind. It happens. Onto the next one.

It’s weird, because on paper the back four should really be our weakness. Rawlinson and Turner are slow, jobbing lower league centre backs who often look baffled by the instruction to play it out from the back all the time, and Kelly-Evans is a young right back from Kettering Town who we’re playing on the wrong side. But somehow it works.

Although I thought Wootton was our best player on the night. Not a 20 goal man, but such a good hold up player, superb pass for the goal when nine out of ten forwards would’ve shot themselves from a worse position.

They both defend the box very well though and once you’d got the goal you could drop back 5/10 yards and our threat over the top completely went
