Our home game with Fylde tomorrow off due to Covid in Fylde squad. Hopefully gives us time to get a couple of players in to boost our depleted squad.

Been lots of talk about our ground location on social media, bit fed up of explaining really as it's nothing new to us but interesting to outsiders.

Mind you, as we found out the other day our safety certificate is under English law so allowed crowds in but Social Club/Main Bar is under Welsh law so have to do restrictions and table service in there, crazy!

Our match against Curzon Ashton was called off just over an hour before kick-off due to one solitary shower leading to a pitch that the ref deemed waterlogged. I'm still in Southport now and there hasn't been a drop of rain since. For a pitch that was completely relaid only a few years ago it doesn't seem to drain well at all, but I can't help but think the referee has made the call too soon.

Demonstrates the ridiculousness of it all.

Our first away win in any competition this season! Mansell has really turned us around recently. 1 defeat in seven in the league and three clean sheets out of four now. Just need a bit more goal threat and some of our midfielders to step up a gear (cough, Mensah) and we might actually be the team that was meant to be up at the right end of the table.

Boston united 2-3 Alfreton Town

Magnificent performance from Alfreton. Should have won by more. Home fans very restless at the full time whistle. Elliott running short on time?
Only a second ever win at Boston in 16 visits. Enjoyed that one.

Rumours of a Rheady backheel assist? Or has someone on our forum imagined it?

Got no idea if I'm right here, but Boston seem to have gone on losing and winning runs with little in between whenever I check how they're doing.

Certainly not. Rhead played a lovely one-two with Branson for our opener

Frustrating two points dropped for us, especially as Telford barely had any shots despite having a man advantage for half the game.

Sounds like there's going to be a few ins and outs this week.

I wouldn't mind securing his services for good when the season is over. That's if Scunthorpe want to get shot of him like?
We'll be having a clear out in the Summer so there's a good chance.

Definitely not a bad set of results. And we don't play a team that's in the playoffs now until the end of February (depending on when Kettering gets rearranged) bjt again were not in the league this week cos of the cup so another game in hand for us.

If you fancy drawing both of those games that's be great for us though!

This league is ridiculously tight I can eye up the top 7 with Curzon yet even have an eye over shoulder, although if any justice BPA will go down for the fact they ridiculously overspent a couple of seasons ago then have used COVID to dig em out of jail last 2 seasons when their money ran out.

we now start a run of easier games which will make or break season

I said to my mate at h/t that Livesey should replace Grand with him being on a yellow and 37, but it didnt't happen. I think we would have won that comfortably with 11 on the pitch and ended the day on the cusp of the play-offs.

Mark Beck has gone back to Harrogate, not happy about it who got no service due to squad being totally unbalance,,Watson who I rate has a manager really fucked this squad up,signed 4 proven strikers Donaldson,Beck,Willoughby & Gilchrist on big wages with no pace or creativity anywhere else.

I have decided this season height is certainly not what will get you promoted but pace is.

Defences seem tall but slow, good pace with that little drop of quality there is good base for attack

Pace is what Watson failed to sign in the summer, Askey has since signed Longdon and McKay who seem rapid, more to come in I'd guess now Beck has gone too

Well he's currently in the process of trying to rebalance our squad which badly unbalanced. B & J said it was their best ever squad, but clearly it was one of the worst.

Aye, Watson's not messing about with Oyibo, Morgan, Cowan gone and Redshaw's loan not extended. Wouldn't surprise me to see Luke Clark follow as well.

Rob Apter in on loan from Blackpool with a few more incomings before the end of the week.

I think sometimes a manager has that assumption that it’s conf north so you just need height and strength.

you of course do, but you also have to realise all other clubs will have height and strength especially either up front or back two.

you find a different way, pace on the wings, through balls to a fast forward I think can do much more damage…….just not easy to find on the lower wage levels.
