Another injury hit afternoon for us yesterday. Our entire first choice back four still missing (James, Gerring, Nugent and Leadbitter). Armstrong out after becoming injured at Curzon so Jake Cole went back in goal but it was clear that he wasn't recovered from injury either.

Gateshead's opening goal really should have been cleared by Cole but he stayed on his line and it was another cheap early goal to give away. To be fair we got back into it and another good strike by Danny King levelled up the scores before Gateshead got another before the break. At half time, we brought on under 21 keeper Avenell for the again injured Cole.

A well worked corner routine saw Thompson head in to equalise again but other than a few spells here and there, Gateshead always looked dangerous on the break and the more composed team and wasn't much of a surprise to see them get a third. A fourth was probably not a fair reflection on the game, but shows why they are top. Clinical infront of goal.

We desperately need bodies back soon, we were also missing Tom Harrison (another injured defender) and Matt McClure who were both named on the bench purely to make up numbers but are both still crocked. Concern now is that we have no fit senior goalkeeper either.

To add to the above, it's expected that Leadbitter and Gerring will miss the rest of the season now.

Chorley 2-1 Southport

We played ok for 20 minutes of so, and went in front through a short throw-in routine which Archer poked home a nodded down cross. After that we weren't in the game and Chorley battered us. They skied a penalty, hit the woodwork at least 3 times, and Cam Mason made save after save to keep us in the game. Their winning goal was in injury time and was one of those inswinging free kicks that no-one got a touch on and crept in at the far post. Can't day they didn't deserve it though, as we barely got out of our own half in the seconds half.

As an aside, our supporters coach got bricked. One of our young lads took a video of it though and now it's a police matter. For a set of fans we've never had a problem with despite it being a local derby they now seem to be attracting some absolute bell ends to the club.

I wish we had a decent ground let alone roof and terrace. I don't see it happening not many supporters like this rugby ground, it's shite!

I don't think we have a future at Blackwell Meadows! All sorts of rumours are up in the air at the moment but nothing is set in concrete.
Hope you get sorted your support deserves it.

The brick I have heard about and completely uncalled for. I hope the person / people responsible are dealt with appropriately and that the supporters on the coach are all ok.

I should point out that your supporters (around 20-30 of them) also tore all of our sponsorship boardings down in the Pilling end. Leaving us with none.

In both instances it’s shameful

Completely agree, the young lads who did that were right in front of me (it was a handful who tore it off, then the rest of the idiots came and joined in). An absolute disgrace to our club, and I hope our club do something about it.

Just got back from weekend in London, got to say John Askey has done an incredible job since coming in,he has reunited fans and players putting a shift in every game.
Taking 850 fans to Dagenham in trophy is a fantastic following after the years of utter shit.

First away win on a Saturday afternoon with fans allowed in for 798 days.

Loved today, played well and could have been more. A rare trip home with a smile on my face.
First win in the north east for 2 weeks short of three years. Well done for those who travelled

I think they've all fucked off! :dk:

I can't believe he's still only 27-year-old. I thought he was a decent player at Salford.
He was also a decent player at Altrincham. Always had a m-o-m performance against us particularly at the Deva. We paid a fee for him and he was largely anonymous. Shame really!

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
A good away win for Ashton but damage probably done over the last week, we should have been now right in the mix but two awful results vs bottom of table sides did enormous damage.

Maybe one last chance of top 7
But it means we have to beat York in their own back yard midweek, nothing else is god enough.

And not easy with their form, plus that when you look at the online tickets so far we have sold one away ticket!

Gonna have to go away to the most in form side with absolutely no support at all and dig out a win……….one hope is that usually is when Curzon thrive.

We never beat Curzon so you will be ok,also they looked tired Saturday.
We sack managers after playing Curzon normally but can see Mr Askey surviving.

Didnt realise that Kingsley James on your staff. Great player for us first time round, but useless when McCarthy brought him back in our relegation season.
He is doing the coaching and named on bench when we are short.
Win at Blyth puts you out of danger.

A weird one from Curzon tonight.

Sat back defended and got a 0-0 at York and very happy with it…….but you’d think we are not chasing a play off place from it.

On paper a great point considering their form but we need at some point to decide are we going to try to gamble for 7th or just enjoy mid table.

Hard to watch that, don’t understand why you did it because I thought you looked a good team when committed players forward.
We never beat Curzon anyway so a point is something.

Curzon are just added to the list of teams who come to York and park the bus. No ambition whatsoever

Not a bad point against a strong set piece team.
Unbeaten in 12 and the joy of seeing a Paul Cox coming next, god I hate his teams.

Back to back wins for the first time this season. A scrappy game but very comfortable in the end. Only downside is we lost 3 defenders to injury during the match. Bit of a worry for Tuesday.

Glad we've extended Dackers loan to the end of the season. He's a right handful and scoring regularly now.

Time to seriously consider a manager change again at Curzon, Lakeland took over with us 2-3 points off top spot in the table, we are now 30 points behind and probably will finish nearer the bottom than top 7 which we looked a good bet for during large parts of the season.

Too cautious approach f*cked it all up completely.

Crazy afternoon with every club down the bottom getting wins other than Guiseley, so a much needed three points for us at Bradford. Better team first half, deservedly went ahead from Tomlinson finishing a fantastic Fabien Robert through ball.

BPA equalised in the second half and really pushed for a second for a while, but in the end sub Matt McClure stabbed home a chance to give us a 2-1 win. Fairly rare goal for him (only the 6th of the season) in a campaign where he's basically been perennially injured. But a huge three points. Chester at Meadow Park Tuesday, I would say it should be a good game but most of our ones at home have been total boreathons.

Why have you let us have Waters back?

He scored a pearler today. Probably be back permanently in the Summer.

player maybe wanted to go back, Curzon has always swapped and changed about its team it doesn't run like the bigger clubs down here.

it attracts the part-time players who can find good normal jobs because of the manchester base, plus usually curzon is a good set-up, plays football the right way for a small club, but they dont pay great wages and lets be honest 200-300 in a 5000 stadium isn't going to enthuse many players.

we can take players on, they move away to bigger clubs, come back here to play again and move off again, etc, etc. I dont know the reasons but i'd say financial or just playing for a bigger club.

Paul Holleran managed his 600th game as Leamington boss today

He has been in charge of the side for over 4,500 days, he took the role in November 2009

Continues to do a very good job with the club & seen a number of players progress into full-time football

Southport 3-3 York City

First half was a bit on a non-event. We went 1-0 up early on, simple through-ball behind the full-back, cross, goal. Very scrappy from both sides after that, then towards the end of the half York went full 1980's Wimbledon and just started launching the ball into out box whenever they could. Cue a few goalmouth scrambles and an equaliser just before half-time.

Second half was a different game entirely. York probably had the better of possession overall, but both teams had chances. Dylan Vassallo put one in the corner with his weaker foot to put us 2-1 up against the run of play, York equalised with a tap-in following a superb double save from Cam Mason. York then thought they'd won it when poor marking by us left Mason exposed and them with an easy finish. This gave us a kick up the backside and we upped our game again, equalising through a far-post Jordan Archer header.

One of those games where on the balance of play we deserved a point, but York could argue they could have had all three. Disappointing from our point of view to concede two goals from set pieces, but it was a point well earned against an in-form team.

Unbelievable that we've just won 2 consecutive games for the first time this season. If we win at Gloucester (worst home record in league) it will take Watson's ppg above the dynamic duo. Two winnable games with a trip to Guiseley as well. We are finally starting to look like a good team.
