Daly brings some height which is massively needed and he won't stand for that kind of performance, but anyone that ran at him he's in trouble. Better than what we have right now mind you. Hearing Alex Whittle could be on his way back too.

Daly had his contract cancelled by Stourbridge last night. I'd expect him to sign for you

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Don’t know much on the game commentary very basic for it but another Curzon win 2-1 away at Gloucester.

leamington have also had two excellent home wins after that 3-0 loss last week beating Gateshead and then Boston

not sure who is winning it this year seems very open

Those Chester boys took one hell of a beating today!
I was also slightly underwhelmed with the following they brought. Poor show

We are riding the crest of a wave currently
Harry Cardwell is playing out if his skin along with Billy Whitehouse

Cardwell picked up a slight knock today though

Well well well. Alfreton 3-1 AFC Telford

Both new signings made a huge difference. Bullied a poor Telford side all day and should have won by more.

Bailey Hobson is an absolute baller. Way too good. We will struggle to hold on to him. Whole team played well today though. Hopefully boosts confidence ahead of the cup tie at Cleethorpes

Decent performance today thought Chester were very poor defensively even though they set up to defend. Stevenson has had it, certainly cant play as a lone striker. They have too many aging players all in the same side.
Slight concern from me is that we are still a couple of players light in view of potential injury problems, perhaps a couple of loans may be needed. Cardwell was very good today, cant work out why Calverley was MOM!

Thought it was decent enough considering how terrible we are!

Didn't understand your fans singing about us non-stop for 90 minutes though. Felt a bit weird to be honest. I was waiting to hear a song or chant actually about yourselves but one never came.

Yet again, another defeat... Groves for me should have gone already. His recruitment has been painfully too slow and tactically he is currently inept.

First 20 mins we were piss poor again. Long ball shite and Curzon deservedly took the lead. To be fair we then kicked on and got a equaliser. Ref was fucking abysmal mind you, continually giving nothing fouls for them all the time.

2nd half we came out much better, their keeper handled it out the box during a goal scoring opportunity and the ref booked him Utterly embarrassing decision and kind of summed up his afternoon. But anyway, we came close to getting a second, as did Curzon on the break, but we were in the ascendancy and looking likely to make a break through.

Then Groves made 2 subs when it wasn't necessary. 5 mins, maybe not even that, McGilp who came on (how is he even still with us??) gives away the ball, Galvin does the same and they get a (debatable) free kick on the edge of the box. Curzon score directly from it, good goal tbf.

We then did very little to force any real pressure, when you only have McClure as your recognised forward is it any wonder. Final whistle went and our asst mgr comes steaming onto the pitch, ref runs off, Curzon players go for him, our players go for them, Dawson gets involved. He's on a yellow.. Pushing and swearing and then Groves gets on and then it's a free for all. Ref gives another yellow to Dawson and then a red, so another suspension now for us. Dunno who else got booked, it all went on for quite a while. Ref lost complete control, whole thing was a total embarrassment.

Quite a lot of fans stayed behind singing for Groves to go who then used that as a bit of an excuse in his post match interview. Real split now in the fanbase, a thousand down from the last 2 games too. I can see next week in the cup getting ugly...

Awful first half at Blyth especially the first 20-30 minutes with once again shoddy defending with two give away goals from our fragile defence.
Only bright spot is that we equalised just before half-time with a great finish from Charman!

AA changed formation in the second half and worked a treat with a much better performance from the lads. And then we introduced a much sharper and fitter Nelson. Who within minutes put the ball in the back of the net. Absolute class!!

From then on we had Blyth rattled and probably should have gone on and won the game. But happy with a point after that wobbly start. A few beers with the lads up at Whitley Bay it was fuckin mint!! :woo:

That's always my pit stop up to Blyth. Up to you guys next week but you are definitely already through no danger.

Hmm! I'm not so sure on us progressing through? My thoughts are of today's performance if it's the first half of that display we are out. But the second half improved display might just see us through against you guys.

It's a difficult one with both teams struggling to recapture a bit of form and gathering a bit of momentum. :dk:

Sound fishy to me,match Saturday called off for covid then Hereford post on website Monday test came back negative.
Hereford manager on Friday also complaining all defenders are injured.
Just a shame we didn’t brains to call Gloucester game off when we had loads of injuries.
What are league rules on this.Surely if no confirmed cases game should go ahead.

We've brought in 3 defenders in 4 days, 2 started Saturday (Thompson from Coventry looked a cut above, Zola jury is out.) Signed Corey Jordan last night, formerly of Bournemouth and had been with Swindon until they opted not to sign him. Hoping he's as good as he looks on paper. Lot of players out this weekend again but should be a big crowd (2-3000 hopefully)

What an absolute mint performance from Darlo.

Fantastic all round team performance, every man from 1-11 was outstanding

Fantastic support from the 80/90 Darlo fans who made that mammoth journey on a Tuesday night, we were excellent once again.

This bus journey home is so much more bearable, well worth getting home at 2am ⚽️ I am buzzing!

352 is that right thought Brackley got more than that.
Also on a separate note spenny back down to 1300 fans,2650 against York but apparently only 460 from York.

Yeah that’s right, was about 80/90 Darlo down there too.

I don’t get why the get so poor support when season after season, they are always fighting at the top. Even the GK Danny Lewis was bewildered why they get so few.

Never mind, smashing win for Darlo last night!

I'm fed up with having to explain the same point over and again on the forum. Brackley population = 13,000. Darlington population = 92,000. York population 210,000. By even the most basic mathematical logic therefore Breckley's crowds should be 1/7th of Darlington's and 1/16th of York's. Do the comparison of crowd numbers on that basis - maybe then you'll have a better understanding. We're the smallest town to be represented in the National League... and the crowds we were getting before the pandemic were around 550, but haven't picked back up to that yet and maybe won't.

As for the match, a horrible first 15 mins where Darlington played us off the pitch, followed by a red card. Down to 10 men for 75 mins, and I think deservedly pulling it back to 1-1, meant I wasn't too disappointed overall, despite Darlington ultimately winning. Darlo played the ball around very nicely in parts, and a couple of nice finishes, but looked weak at the back, and perhaps a bit lightweight for top half of the league?

Brackley's position flatters them - all the game's have been close, and no-one is getting over excited here.

Not often I'll stick up for AFC Fylde, but with them being based in Wesham which had a population of 3584 on the last census results, I think you can no longer claim to be the smallest town in the division.

You could argue AFC Fylde are based at a motorway service station with an even smaller population, but let's not go there.

Fylde represents a region, not a single town. The comparison doesn't work.

Technically yeah but they're just a rebranded Kirkham & Wesham and it's not like most football fans in Fylde don't already support Blackpool (and maybe Fleetwood).

Correct. I actually think we’d have more fans if we were called kirkham and wesham like we used to be. I barely know any fans that go on from lytham and at Anne’s and stuff because as said above they already follow teams. Most of my mates won’t go on coz they associate us with Blackpool because of our owner

"A good number of those swelling the gates at Mill Farm are Seasiders boycotting their club’s home games in protest against the Oyston family’s ownership. But for Fylde fan Jack Connor the new ground, and its location closer to the town of Kirkham, is the most significant factor in the significant attendances. “We have a fair few Blackpool fans, but we get a lot of people coming from Preston, Kirkham, Freckleton and Lytham,” he explains.

I know what he says. He was appointed by the club after we got to Wembley. He talks nonsense.
