Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
go for Darren Edmondson.

Yep he won title with a ridiculous budget last season but he's got a lot of conf North experience with his time at Workington and Barrow, plus while his Barrow stuff was funded, to get workington into the conf north play-offs was one heck of a tough ask.

although I sometimes think Stockport just needs someone with a mass of passion or connection to their fanbase to help passionately gel it back together.

Dave Jones is actually a bloody good shout........may be the best thing for both sides.

Going off our two seasons in Conference North, the standard is pretty terrible. We won the league whilst still being pretty crap, and the only team that really gave us much bother overall was Fylde and maybe Guiseley. The gulf between that league and the National League seems bigger now than a few years ago.
Id agree with the gap from Conference Premier to Conference being bigger than ever. Only 1 side would have a remote chance of competing in the Premier MO (Solihull) The rest would need quite a few summer signings I suspect.

You were very lucky to go up, I think it was obvious to most that Fylde were the superior side but you ground out results and won the title. You still had to spend big money to get out of the league. When he had an average budget and before your change of manager and subsequent investor came in you were closer to the bottom of the league than top just like Alfreton and Telford following their relegation.

Not disputing any of that - just saying we won the league by not even playing well and barely getting out of second gear in most of the home games. The standard of the bottom half was extremely poor, and the top half, as mentioned wouldn't compete in the division above without serious investment.

go for Darren Edmondson.

.

He got lucky that he came in at the right time, but he isn't a good manager by any stretch of the imagination. His signings this summer have all been poor, tactics all wrong, and seemingly can't motivate a team. He would tank.
Nice guy, but he's unlikely to get a similar opportunity again.

Apparently the new manager will be announced tomorrow or Friday which makes it less likely to be Flynn as I would have thought that would be a very straight forward deal that would have been done today.

What is happening with Ferriby? I thought that there money was being pulled and they would sink back down to the evo-stik levels where they belong. Only saw the Conference North table this week seeing them placed second. Out of the teams currently occupying the top 6 we've surely got to hope Boston come good so we can have another football graound to go to that isn't a oversized working mens club with 6 rows of seats in a flat pack stand. Are Solihull living off the Bogle transfer money and their car park at the JLR factory or have they got somebody spunking money at them too?

Approach has been made for Gannon apparently.
A pointless approach?

Must appeal to his ego that he has been hand picked and is first choice.

It strikes me that his spell out of the game and move to Northwich has done him the world of good and he perhaps isn't as intense as he once was.

Ferriby did cut the budget but not anywhere near as much as it was initially reported, they have avoided injuries and Billy Heath is doing an excellent job.

Yeah, I think the owners are going to phase out rather than just leave full stop, unless a buyer is found.

Omar Bogle money, car park full everyday of the week, Birmingham ladies, function room and bar at the ground. We signed 7 Nuneaton players in the summer along with 3 from Kiddy.
Surely all national league supporters are hoping for a trip to Damson Park next season??

You'll be pleased to learn I won't be paying you and your twatty 200 fans a return visit, I'll be saving my cash to invest in the more deserving, real football clubs in the division. :£

Still think Mike Flynn will get the job til the end of the season. They'll be a statement tomorrow or Friday saying he'll be in charge on Saturday, we'll win & he'll keep it til the summer.

I do think there's a slight blind spot from Chester fans when it comes to Young.

That Conference North side was exceptional but as was the budget. Trundle etc. It was a good achievement but nothing more.

The true test of Young, for a side like Chester, was when they got back to the Conf and he failed abysmally. He signed Gareth Seddon and Jason Jarrett ffs. Wasters looking for a paycheck that we'd deemed not good enough.

He's never proved himself above Conference North and will have to take somebody up, to ever get a chance at Conference level again.

Can't bear the place, please get a new ground. Honestly can't not make it sound mean, but two small stands and hard standing a long walk from civilisation maketh a grim non-league day out. Still hasn't stopped me going there three times though and Dan Gardner scored a beauty last time around.

Mike Flynn in charge on Saturday but going by the wording he isn't in the mix to be the permanent manager. Also no mention of an interview process or high calibre of applications etc, so I should imagine we have targeted somebody.

What's Halifax's problem with Moors?
Why consider us twatty fans?

I think the problem is that you are considering that B2TF is representative of all Halifax fans. Whilst this is the polar opposite of the truth, i can assure you nobody is looking forward to a return trip to damson park unless you still allow outside drinking. In which case an away game on the first or last day of the season would be agreeable.

Please can I remind all that this thread is to celebrate our out of his depth manager Neil Young departing, and potentially the third reign of Sir Jim Gannon :milk:

All the hints point to our potential new manager being currently in a job whoever he is, a certain Mr Steve Burr has been mentioned, somebody who despite the bad press from Chester fans I wouldn't mind getting the job if it isn't Gannon.
