I've just listened to the 40 min dee dar interview with dean Saunders, I thought he came over well.
He has the experience to work with little or no money. Should be a good fit for chesterfield. You sold your top striker, your manager left you to drop down a division.
Chairman not ambitious, just realistic. So should you be.

We all have near misses and lucky breaks, but in the end over 46 games the table doesn't lie - and Bradford are the 7th best team in the league, whilst chesterfield are the 6th.

Don't think he is disputing that, think he's just making a point that if next season you finish mid table on 63 points then you won't have performed much worse than you have this season.

"The lad has scored twice today, but on another day he puts both those shots int he crowd and we go on to get a point". The only difference is that at least Page is still relatively unproven whereas Saunders has had plenty of jobs and done poorly everywhere...

I'm split between whether I want Preston to go up or not. Part of me wants them to fail just so I can laugh at their clowns on here but part of me wants them to go up so their dickheads fuck off to the Championship board.

Really struggling for any sort of motivation with our best players being sold, let go or pushed out the club and this bloke in charge.

I'm trying to warm to the idea of Saunders in charge, and in some places I can, but he wants to completely change the way we play football. He's in this school of thought that there is no point to all the possession if we don't score goals - which is fair enough, if we didn't score any goals and finish 6th this season. It obviously needs a bit of tweaking and a finer cutting edge, and it's one area to be improved, but it sounds like he wants us to bypass the midfield - our strongest area - just for the sake of having some more shots. Hope he was over-exaggerating the need to be more direct.

No contest Swindon to win, as for this post I don,t think it,s that bad an appointment, Crawley improved considerably after he took charge. Cook is a hard act to follow and realistically 6th was an over achievement in first year up so probably Saunders on a hiding to nothing anyway. And yes PNE fans Page is utter dog turd and I was posting that back in October about his style of Pulis football .

I certainly don,t think that Tom, most of it is anti Garner from us lot not the fans. My reason for wanting you lose is simple, a hour ish journey where we take reasonable following and you bring good lot to our place, or two shocking followings from us and Swindon to each others ground and a shocking ground/ away end. No issues with the fans at all purely prefer a game with an edge to it than a boring atmosphereless game against Swindle.

It was based on the members on here rather than fans at games. If it was fans at games, Crawley or Fleetwood would contest that one.

each match day experience is different, I know Vale can be horrible after the game at our place, that said we aren,t all knobs. I had good experience at Coventry where their fans were dead chatty and friendly even though we had beaten them and I,d say MK is friendly place, but to pigeon hole a team as worst fans is based solely on experiences or because a lot of our posters are WUMs.

I can see it being what he wants, he said when he joined us that as a former striker you want the ball as often and as quick as possible. Something he demonstrated with us. He dropped O'Hara into a really deep position a few times and it was clear he had instructed the team to get it to him deep so he could be the one to launch it forward. It was horrible to watch and didn't work at all, we didn't have the players for it and he still kept at it. He had Ebanks-Blake and Sako who were both scoring goals for us and he still took us down. It was clear we were going down as well around the back of January with his tactics too.
