It’s where we need to use Wootton more as well. Got one of the best strikers in the air you’re going to find in this league, nothing wrong with giving teams some crosses towards him to try and defend if they’re just going to sit in. Rodrigues and Roberts should’ve had more shots from around the edge of the box as well. Hopefully we’ll learn against that kind of team.

Expecting to be at least 2/3 down by half time.
We've only scored twice in a game about 11 months...Paul Hurst would never allow us to get two before half-time this early in the season - he doesn't like fan expectations to get too rampant early in the season - when we raised £100k for Operation Promotion he got in a right strop with us...

Obviously an early goal would help, but every team in this league can organise themselves against a side who’s trying to play through them rather than over them.
Not every team, as you should find on Saturday..

Another battering.

We get to see how our fifth choice keeper gets on.

Our record v Notts since you came down (I think) is 3 wins and 1 defeat, however Notts fans will be pleased to know Panayiatou is no longer here and we’re a completely different side to the one that beat you last season. Almost feels like it’s going to be damage limitation, expect we’ll set up with 5 at the back, sit back and hope for a draw. In reality we aren’t good enough to do this and we’ll probably lose 3-0.

Against aldershot we were the least worst side. We don’t seem to have any sort of game plan of way of playing yet. And we always lose on tv

We simply need a new striker as we're lacking any real goal threat at the moment. Somebody made a good point on our forum that morale will drop from the defenders and midfielders if there's no hope of us scoring.

Hopefully we can keep it tight at the back as I know Daggers have a couple of key injuries and look to catch them on the break. I don't envisage any changes to the starting XI, unless Tavares has recovered from his injury.

Won’t be a battering, hurst rarely does batterings. Maybe 1-0 followed by a defensive substitution to allow you to put pressure on us in the last 10 minutes is more likely.

First proper test as others have said.

I fancy us to beat Bromley though and continue our good run of form.

Tight 1-0 win in front of 5000 town fans.
Cheek will score, he always tends to do so.

Head wants to say 1-1 but heart overuled it so going for 2-1 home win.

Don't think we will hit 5000 though - 4500 maybe with a very limited away following by the sounds of it!

Finally we get a decent measure to gauge Chesterfield against. Are they really good? hopefully Bromley will be a decent barometer. But its ok, after this game they have two gimmes again.

Shouldnt you be worrying about gelling or something? Either that or the fact that youve spent loads and your squad looks far from complete against a back drop of anything less than first place will be an utter failure.

We haven't performed brilliantly yet IMO but have got the job done without ever looking like losing.

Bromley at home is a tough game but one we ought to be winning really if we are serious about troubling the big spenders Wrexham and Stockport for that top spot.

I can remember Luton Town posters using the” we really should be beating teams like………” whinge. But I guess after 6 years they went up anyway. Cocky gits.

I think you will win tbh, although Bromley beating Eastleigh 3-0 suggest they are no mugs again. I thought Eastleigh looked ok against us.

Probably not a bad thing to go against someone a bit more likely to test your defence. Playing shite teams every week can make you a bit complacent.

Yeah I don't think our back line has had an awful lot to do. That being said, you can only beat what is in front of you and we've done that convincingly. JR win ratio now stands at 61.11%, with 19 clean sheets from his 36 games in charge.

No intended slight on Bromley, just saying that if we are genuinely serious about top spot - then at home its the sort of game we need to win.

Had some good ones with Barnet in seasons gone by over the last decade and a half, however I'm expecting this to be a cagey one. How much pace have you lot got up top this season? David Longe-King might well be injured for us which will probably mean Pearson and Waterfall start together at CB, which fills me with both a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling and dread at the same time.

I think that's a good sum up. We've done enough haven't we. No one can look at our performances and say we've looked great, we haven't looked like losing at all, but then we shouldn't really from who we've played. 'done enough' is the phrase of Rowes management style it feels, he plays a defensive system that allows the opposition to see a lot of the ball so long as its in non-dangerous areas, I don't think he plays a free flowing high possession Cooky style game, so we'll rarely knock 3 or 4 past teams. It obviously works though looking at his record. The only question I have remaining though is when we play the better teams who have the quality to beat the system? County in the playoffs, the TV drubbing against Hartlepool...

Not sure what to expect with us. We are playing good football but we don't take many of the chances that come our way. Still missing a number 9.

We won everyime on tv last year so it's got Yeovil win all over it.

Hoping we give a good account of ourselves. Hoping for an away win

Yeah we definitely play with a solid base of trying not to concede first - I don't mind it as the football we play going forward is still pretty entertaining - but it is a far cry from the Cook style as you mentioned.

I agree re. when we play the better teams - in particular the Hartlepool game. The Notts playoff... I honestly thought we deserved to win that game on the balance of play - and that was with an injured keeper, no Asante and Oyeleke going off injured.

Our success this year will come down to the likes of Clarke, Mandeville and Khan adding goals IMO.

Absolutely right yea goals from midfield always key to good sides, it feels like for the first time in a LONG time we now have a couple who can provide that

Play-off game was one of those you can argue either way, you had the clear chances to kill it off on the break, but you let us have so much possession and so many half chances that there was always a fair chance what happened was going to happen.

I still think relentlessly beating the riff raff is the most important thing if you want to win the title, anyway.

Yeah - one of my best mates is a Notts fan and he said he could sense they were going to win it. I blame Nathan Tyson personally - can't believe we gave him another year contract after those two misses.

Home to Wealdstone who seem to keep it tight but can’t score, a couple of goals should win it. Missing Jones for this one but he went off at 0-0 at Barnet and we still won comfortably, along with Balanta who went off at 1-1 at Stockport and we’ve won 3 since. Need to win your home games against the poor sides if your to be in with a play off shout.

Wealdstone keep it tight???
Didn't they concede nearly a century of goals last season?
About as tight as a prostitutes chuff.
