Wealdstone keep it tight???
Didn't they concede nearly a century of goals last season?
About as tight as a prostitutes chuff.

An awful lot of things have changed in the off-season, us being more resolute at the back is one of them.

Had some good ones with Barnet in seasons gone by over the last decade and a half, however I'm expecting this to be a cagey one. How much pace have you lot got up top this season? David Longe-King might well be injured for us which will probably mean Pearson and Waterfall start together at CB, which fills me with both a bit of a warm fuzzy feeling and dread at the same time.

Pace? What’s that?

I don’t get all this negativity, predicting an easy home win for Grimsby.

We are unbeaten away from home ALL SEASON.

Grimsby won’t know what’s hit them.
Yes but we also have a 100% home record this season so something has to give mucker.

Yeah Hale and Pace, Little and Large and Cannon and Ball were all on tv when I was a kid in the 80’s back when Saturday night tv used to be fantastic.

I cant believe this is our first game against SOuthend since the LDV Vans final in 2005

gonna win and Luke Young will emulate the greatest celebration the LDV ever saw...

(From 1 minute onwards, and whoever made the video is editing with a potato)

Mental that you’d check stats, aren’t we a trustworthy bunch?
To be fair to him I don't think he was even a Wrexham fan when Rowe took over!

:ffs: My God, it must be grimmer than I thought in Grimsby. :fl:

I think you will win tbh, although Bromley beating Eastleigh 3-0 suggest they are no mugs again. I thought Eastleigh looked ok against us.

Probably not a bad thing to go against someone a bit more likely to test your defence. Playing shite teams every week can make you a bit complacent.
That shite team they played the other week, they only managed a point against us last season. And Wrexham didn’t fair to well at Grosvenor Vale.:dk:

Blimey, Dave Pace...arch chairman manager bellend and floodlight fiddler extraordinaire...there's a blast from the past.
I'd tried to block out all memory of that man / club.

Ahead of our appearance on BT Sport tomorrow here's our record in live tv games over the last 8 years:

P 12 W 0 D 1 L 11 F 4 A 22

The last game we won on tv was the League 1 play off final in 2013 when we beat Brentford 2-1. Our paths have gone in very different directions since.

What's the likelihood of you Bees bringing under 100 for this one? Nothing about the game at all on your forum. 130 to Solihull equals less than a hundred to us I reckon.

Probably about that. Once you‘ve seen us play you’ll see why.

There's some sick rumours flying around that Mullin's picked up an injury.

Own up, which Southend fan started it?

Bit gutted to be missing it today which is a complete turnaround from usually actively avoiding home games where possible.

Still seems like we’re a bit in pre season mode at the minute but the signs are there, can’t see us smashing anybody anytime soon.

Can see you both dressed like that standing hand in hand outside the Spire Fryer, when Grimsby visit Chessie :fl:
The amount of weight I put on whilst waiting for an op last year I might just fit into Gareth Hale’s outfit now to be honest.

We've sold over 5,000 home tickets for today, so should be a good atmosphere, especially if Barnet bring a few more than they have in the past.
