Our youth team are 1 0 down at Grantham Town........... HURST OUT!!!!!!

Our youth side lost on pens to Grantham, shame but the worst thing the Lincs FA did to this comp was allow it to carry onto in the league season, so not too bothered we lost, neither is Hurst seen as he put a youth side out for it.

Sounds about right but Hurst was pissed off at the fact Grantham wouldn't agree to a suitable date for the fixture so he's sent the youths to spite them. It's ruined our list of Ws on our form now so jokes on us.

I heard you put out a youth side, can you confirm?

I'm hearing Grimsby had a large away following yesterday, can anybody confirm it? Can't seem to find anything on here...
What do you expect? If other people are gonna bring it up, we're gonna talk about it.

Created this little table to show away followings for match day 1. Distances based from ground to ground mileage. Will try to do this each week but it may get a bit harder when I'm at uni!

It is noticeable looking at the table above just how far fans travel to watch a game, with out game at Altrincham being (just) the shortest return trip. I accept that there are far shorter distances between teams, so this may just be a really bad week with some pretty long distances, but how much better would it be if we merged with Division Two and went regional? Then you wouldn't have fans travelling such ridiculous distances so often, far more local derbies, which would surely attract larger attendances and be far more beneficial financially to all concerned.

Not for me, I enjoy the traveling and the longer trips. I'd much rather an awayday at Torquay than say Mansfield or Notts County.

Nope, my team has played in a national league since 1979 and I want it to stay that way. Besides, we'll get just as big an away attendance from Morecambe as we would from Welling Utd.

150-200? I think you're being way too kind there!! Wouldn't have said any more than 80-100

Fair enough haha, looked like a fair few in the corner in the 2nd half. Maybe it was more like 100, we'll see what Sparrow thinks

Barrow's fans were excellent tonight, even at 4 down still trying to sing, and a decent turnout of 115.

There may have only been 89 Torquay fans last night (understandable given the distance) but they aquitted themselves really well. First half particularly they were making a lot of noise. Joined in the minutes applause we had for fans who have passed away. Hats off to them.

Seen a picture on twitter of Alty at Guiseley and looks around the hundred figure mark. Borehamwood at Eastleigh I can't find anywhere, but nigh on two mini buses suggests it wouldn't have been many, so I'll say around 70…
