Making goonerz cry
Anyone bothered by what a bunch of kids sing at them needs a big fuck off kick in the balls and be made to man up. I've heard far far worse on the east terrace at Underhill...

...Christ, the victim mentality sweeping this country is embarrassing.

I thought we hardly sang on the East Terrace at Underhill..
But yeah those kids who were more interested about lobbing insults over the fence at the opposition fans than cheering us on were pretty sad really.

Look, it's not about being precious, or a victim, or anything else which apparently makes people seem 'soft' outside of the testosterone fuelled bubble of football chanting. It's just a matter of respect - which 90% of the time is still there in the chanting that goes to and fro. But celebrating a clubs demise with such glee, as some Northampton fans were that day, isn't right and this fully understandable that it rubbed some fans up the wrong way.

Before anyone says anything, no I'm not one of those. But I've also never taken the piss out of a relegation, and never would do. For me it's not a laughing matter. But I do respect that that is just my opinion and some others do take pleasure out of another's misfortune and are happier paying money to do this over supporting their team. Each to their own :dk:

Urban you seem a real fun person to go to football with. I love a bit of baiting the opposition it's great.

I think rugby maybe more suitable for you

Hope we stick it up the cobblers

Really easy win, easiest of the year, should have been 6 or 7. O'Toole is a man possessed now, Holmes and Hoskins were both excellent as well. Nice to keep another clean sheet and Barnet never really looked like scoring.

It seems like you're getting the best out of Ricky now, a talented player for sure.

O'toole and Holmes really were excellent, Hoskins to very good.

Barnet just let us play and it could definitely of been more. All in all a very comfortable day.

Barnet fans vented there frustration with Allen after the double sub, seems to be losing the fans for sure!

Only thing that ruined it for me is the barnet fans sung about our incomplete east stand. I now hate them all.

Only kidding, the barnet fans didn't sing.

Im disgusted. Heartless performance. I wouldn't mind losing but if the performance is good. That was just awful.

We allowed Northampton to play and Holmes tore us apart. I thought Northampton were good with the ball but didn't get out of first gear.

First goal, I thought went out of play and the guy who put the ball across the area was offside. NGala let the ball roll past him to Hoskins. No matter about the decisions, the defending was awful.

Martin Allen has lost the plot. Weston is abysmal and when he is on the right, we lose any threat down that side. Felt for yiadom who had no help on the right, defensively or offensively. Subs awful. Last four games McClean has gone off and we have fallen apart. Champion and McClean did not deserve to go off. To be replaced by Batt and Hoyte, we lose any threat. Subs and stupid lineups have cost us so many times.

The only positive was Lawlor. He kept the scoreline down with some fine saves. It could of been 5/6 without him. It would of been ridiculous.

400 bees is a decent turnout considering our away record. 5/39 points away from home now. Abysmal.

That stand is dreadful. 10 million for what?. Why did you need a new stand? It looks like the capacity would be the same or less than the old stand. Considering their form, Northampton fans were quite quiet.

What is with the clapping noise played through the tannoys? Really tinpot!

ALLEN OUT (for away games but kept for home games)

That's a shocking amount of chances for them not to score from. Something tells me we will be going back to the grey retail park with no leg room again next season.

Because £10m wasn't spent on the stand!! And I can't say I heard any clapping through the tannoy?

Sorry, I was meant to say, Why did the council give 10 million towards it? It surely wasn't needed.

Through the speakers in the away end, a clapping noise was played when your subs were made and when the attendance was announced. I thought it was really tinpot to be fair. I couldn't believe it at first

It was meant to be a lot bigger and have a hotel/conference centre. Our then owner decided he didn't want to spend it on the stand after all, we now don't know where the money actually went.

And I can't hear that from where I sit, but wow that's tinpot if we do. Bit unnecessary considering all three of our subs got standing ovations too!

I think the PA guy had left the mic on and the applause from the West Stand was what you thought was being piped in
As has been said we cruised to victory without really getting out of second gear. The Keeper really did keep the score respectable.

One question for the Bees fans - what the hell was your bloke thinking of running out of the wall and launching the ball from our free kick - Zaire 74???

The most interesting moment of the game. I do not have a clue. It made me laugh though.

Probably the most comfortable victory I can remember.

Barnet were ridiculously bad and there looked to be two divisions between the teams.

Akinde looked like he might have been a handful if he'd have been bothered and the Barnet keeper was decent.

As for us, relatively routine and never really got out of 2nd gear.

Ref blew his whistle, Northampton player took his foot off the ball so it was then in play. Absolutely nothing wrong with what our defender did.

I think you'll find the ball has to physically move to be in play. Other than that fact nothing wrong with it at all.....

Yep, a player touching the ball doesnt mean it's in play, only when the ball moves

Law 13 - seems pretty clear to me. Point 2

Law 13 Free Kicks
FIFA Laws of the Game 2015-16

Free kick outside the penalty area

  • all opponents must be at least 9.15 m (10 yds) from the ball until it is in play
  • the ball is in play when it is kicked and moves
  • the free kick is taken from the place where the infringement occurred or from the position of the ball when the infringement occurred (according to the infringement)
