I'd argue you just have a bigger fanbase. Doesn't necessarily correlate to the best fans. IMO.

How can I look forward to a new season back in the "crappy" second-rate Championship?

Last season we were mixing it against some of the best players in the world on a weekly basis and taking 4 points off Manchester City, drawing at Chelsea and "outplaying" Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Nothing in the Championship can beat that - I mean a 1-0 win against Boro or Derby is not as good as a 1-0 win against Man City or a 1-1 at Stamford Bridge.

Other than Blackburn, I doubt Burnley are a huge pull for anyone else in this division either to be honest.

Pretty optimistic for the season. Trust the management to get it right and bring in a couple of forwards by the end of August. If we gel quickly, and can continue playing good football, then we'll be in with a great shout of finding the play offs again.
