Do Yeovil have an active forum? Always like to get the lay of the land opposition-wise but I can't see that they have one. Strange for a club of their size.
Apparently they have a very active FB community instead of message board type set up. That's what I was told a bit back when I asked a similar question elsewhere. I'd like to say the real names probably keep the keyboard warriors to a minimum but looking at some Facebook groups I guess that isn't always the case.

Just come off a 2 1/2 hour zoom call with Stan that was open to all fans. peaked at 377. Supposed to last for an hour!!

Stan is so effervescent about the future, whilst also being humble and respectful to where we are starting from. Told us that the three man management team were so pleased to have been given their roles and be working together at the Hall.

Gonna be a long haul, but Victoria Rd will be rocking on Saturday, we really want to let them know we are fully behind them.

Stan should be announced as Head of Football Operations early afternoon and we have a very well respected Head of recruitment, who also holds Pro Licence qualifications 99% over the line. All of a sudden things are looking up, but we all realise it is going to take time.

All players starting with a clean slate, which means anyone hoping to get Akinola now, may well be disappointed.

Here's to the future.

They used to have one called Ciderspace. It was really active and I used to enjoy their company on there. We used to meet up in the pub across the field full of dogsh1t lol pre match. Once I even picked one of their fans up from Portsmouth on my way to the away fixture as they were stuck for a lift and I know Portsmouth like the back of my hand.

Ahh the forum contrarian. You don't genuinely expect me to explain why it's surprising that a club with Yeovil's fanbase doesn't have an active forum? There's a few teams in this league that don't but with the excepton of Yeovil, the others are more towards the Dog & Duck end of the spectrum.

I remember Ciderspace as kinda like Cod Almighty but with a forum. That's a shame.

I used to like the trip to Yeovil, firendly fans and a straight forward trip, when they were ever in the same division as us. However having been there a number of times and all the seaside fixtures being in the winter, apart from Torquay, when I was away on holiday in croatia, the weekend away trip this season is going to be Weymouth.

Been to the town when I was a kid for a holiday at the pier end and discovered the more adult delights there when I was in the Navy on the odd trip to Portland, but never been there for football. Looking forward to it and gonna start making arrangements in a couple of weeks time.

Also an ex work colleague of mine is a Terras fan, so looking forward to catching up with him.

Thought they’d been starting together the last few? Be a bit of a cagey affair I reckon, one goal could settle it
Quigley has started one game for us, second game of the season against Southend when his hamstring went after 10 minutes.
One of the wingers will come off the bench with Madden playing from wider.
Rusk want some free shoe polish with that shoehorn he's going to purchase?

The elephant in the room is Quigley looks far more what we need as our focal point than Madden. I like Madden and he's in good form to pop up with one but I don't see how he fits in that 3-4-3 formation if Quigley is fit and in it.

The second elephant in the room is going to a 4-4-2 and Rooney being the one to be dropped.

I've liked the look of Crankshaw and Whitfield drifting wider and linking up with MSH and Kitching. Seemed like round pegs in round holes.

Fucking hell if I'm the forum contrarian youre going to love some of the others.

It was a little joke at Yeovils expensive, nothing more. If you want the actual story there used to be a forum, the guy running it died and he was such an integral part of that site that everything migrated to Facebook and twitter etc. as a mark of respect I think.

What is wrong with Grimsby fans nowadays? you guys used to be cool

Madden played wide in a 433 at Fleetwood.

I like having the option of a lively winger able to come off the bench against tired legs in either Whitfield or Crankshaw.

Rooney also had the best season of his career in a 433 at Barrow.

That’s how you hopefully get a balanced side. Problem is Rusk doesn’t want to budge from that back three.

Potentially adding Sarcevic into the mix complicates things further and I wouldn’t have a clue how we’d line up.

Ah sorry I meant Whitfield, Crankshaw and Madden had been starting together, not with Quigley too.

How many tickets have Stockport sold now?

Given the other fixtures tomorrow, it’s a huge chance for us to create a bit of a gap running into a really tough December

I'd take a draw against Bromley tomorrow, anything to stop our horrendous run of home defeats (7 in a row and only some precipitation stopped it being 8 at the start of the month)

I really hope we beat Boreham Wood, a side I really don't enjoy us playing.

Apparently they have sold 6 tickets for the game

No we don’t. As mentioned it’s all done on Facebook groups. Not that you can have any reasonable discussion on there without the same old people butting in with their own rhetoric.
As for the game, we will either of play like nobody has ever met each other, create nothing and not score. Or, create a number of good chances, and still not score. Generally we defend pretty well but for a couple of lapses in each game when we inevitably concede.

We used to have a very busy forum called Notts County Mad, it’s so going but I haven’t been there in ages so no idea if it’s still as popular.

Like Yeovil, I think most of our stuff is Facebook based now, it’s generally a fairly horrendous place to be after a loss or even a draw, especially if it’s against one of ‘these teams’.

If we win, the place is usually pretty dead, obviously.

Its a Saturday so we’re bound to lose - the last time we won on Saturday was 24th April - played 13 won 0 on Saturdays since then.

Start of a huge week for us - tomorrow will be tough but we’ve made some good signings and i fancy us to get a draw. We need 6 points minimum over the next week (with games against Barnet and Weymouth) otherwise the table will look very bleak.

Interesting tactical/stats preview. Main thing I noticed is how extreme our possession game is. I’d assume Stockport are probably the most similar in the division, but our average possession is miles higher and we make like 120 more passes per game. No compromise, die by the system.

If we have high possession, most of it is the back three/five and keeper passing it between themselves whilst the other teams sits off and just waits for us to actually attack.

We used to have one on our Ciderspace website but it was scrapped a few years ago because it was getting toxic on there. We all decided there wasn't a need for a new one what with social media and that so we all use tow or three groups on Facebook and the #YTFC twitter hashtag.

Sadly Badger, who was the founder and driving force behind Ciderspace, passed away suddenly two years ago. He was the only one who knew the passwords and despite people's best efforts the host wouldn't budge and the site ended up being wiped. It was so frustrating and incredibly sad. Fortunately a few of our fans who set up Gloverscast scraped some of the original content and are in the process of putting it up on their site.

Our FB pages are usually ok and a decent place for news, the views are another matter though...and we get the odd troll from the opposition which is tiresome. There were several Muff 'fans' on there earlier this week. Funnily enough they've gone now.

Summed up well. Grimsby will definitely score in the last couple of minutes, it's just a case of how many you score before that.

Some of us still are….. :ds:
Just supporting a Brotherhood team in the National League is cool these days - someone said to me the other day - "I think that's really great that you stick by home town team down there...Premier League ruined by money...foreign owners...blah blah blah...etc etc". Counter (mass) culture is cool, but of course, it has to have some kind of following, so, sorry, supporting the tinpots is more like just being a bit of a weirdo...

Hard to envisage supporting Scunthorpe being cool, but that's what it might come to next season...
