No chance; only tried it once never ever again, it was a place down Bermondsey Street, had a bit of hangover at the time and nearly threw up, I thought the liquor was some kind of runny mushy pea thing, until I tasted it. I tried some eels as well, tasted like sewage, or how I imagine that would taste.
What is wrong with your weak northern stomachs?

Put a vegetable or something green on your plate and you act like it’s an assignation attempt.

About 1,400. Sure you’ll be there en masse; first game back in the EFL and a top-3 away day in the division to enjoy for it. Lucky sods. Will you brave the pie, mash & liquor?

What actually is that liquor that you talk of? I lived in Battersea for 6 years or so and there was a pie and mash shop within walking distance of our flat that I sadly never went to - I love Pie and Mash - I have to say I'd personally have it with gravy given the choice.

Liquor is stewed eel water with parsley. An acquired taste, sure, but very mild and nowhere near as bad as it sounds.

Yeah it doesn't sound great to be fair but each to their own. And thanks for the clarity, every day is indeed a school day!

That Stockport one could be over 10k. Be brilliant.
Stockport will bring at least 5 thousand on their own if you believe half the rubbish some of their fans put on Social Media. They are the best fans in the league according to them. Funny that because last time we played there I doubt there were 2 and a half thousand of them and what there was never made a sound. Maybe they can take their goalposts back with them even if they are slightly worse for wear.

Twitter, along with Facebook, are horrible places for reasoned discussion and any attempt will always get drowned out by the biggest loons. I'll be amazed if your lot are any more fun to trawl through on those platforms.

We are massiver, tbf, but that's beside the point.

If I'd know it was that I would have vomited. Needs a bit of creative editing on the description ingredients perhaps; a sauce reduction of fresh fish stock with a selection of herbs... fack off - you mean licka

Curious how we line up for the first game.

We’ve played 3-4-1-2 most of pre season but our home 4-4-2 was obviously exceptional last season.

Our recruitment has all been geared towards 3-4-1-2 unless we bring more winger options in over the coming days.

The West Coast Avanti lines will be busy that day.....................

Rail strikes now confirmed for opening day
And further strike action for the 18th & 20th August. RMT, so non-driving staff. But will affect more TOCs than the 20th July.
  • Chiltern Railways
  • Cross Country Trains
  • Greater Anglia
  • LNER
  • East Midlands Railway
  • c2c
  • Great Western Railway
  • Northern Trains
  • South Eastern
  • South Western Railway
  • Transpennine Express
  • Avanti West Coast
  • West Midlands Trains
  • GTR (including Gatwick Express)

So, that's my plan to get the train to Swindon away out the window. If there's longer-term ongoing disruption, along with the high inflation, I can see that affecting away attendances across the league this year. It was a nightmare a few seasons ago when there seemed to be a strike every other week.

Crewe away is August 20th. The best train away day for us this year.

Doncaster fans: how you diddling with tickets for the game at Valley Parade - opening day? Taken a look at the availability and one the the blocks is unavailable but not sure whether that’s because they’re already sold or whether they’re not yet on sale.

The first block has 184 seats available. Each block holds 642. So you’ve either sold 458 or just under 1,000 so far.

Could do with yous fetching nearer 2,000 to get anywhere near 20,000.

Just under a 1,000 sold then.

Another 1,000 should be en route.

Which corporate - main stand or Kop?

No idea pal, I’m away at the minute so my son is sorting it, he will probably tell me when we get there knowing him. There’s a bit of a worry with the trains, it could put a few off going.

Request for Carlilse fans on here.

Our lot are doing a competition for the best scouting report for the first game. You know, how you will line up, strengths/weaknesses, players to watch and areas to target.

Fancy helping me out?

Nah, didn't think so.

Erm, you’re asking for scouting reports from opposition fans?

No from their own fans. I can't decide if it's brilliant or insane. Or both. Their NFT owners and season ticket holders are voting on things as the season unfolds. I'm assuming it's all part of that? Are you a ST holder Casey and did you vote in the next position to buy thing?

I am a season ticket holder but I didn't vote. I've been on holiday with roaming charges applied.

The request for Carlisle fans to give me an inside view was tongue in cheek but I do quite like the idea of a fans scouting competition...if its not the scouting we rely on.

Seems a fun way to get fans engaged and we're all blessed with 20-20 hindsight so it would be interesting to see how your predictions matched with the outcome and a freebie or something for the winner adds a carrot to get it right.

It appears we’ve only been sent tickets for the stand on the side, all sold, so unless we are sent for the stand behind the goal that’s it

I think quality wise salford vs mansfield steals the show for the opening game of the season, early match up between 2 of the sides expected to be up there.

Crowd wise (but probably not quality wise) bradford vs doncaster is the obvious choice.

Sutton vs newport probably wins dull of the day.

As I mentioned in the away support thread, seats in the lower tier behind the goal have been removed due to maintenance. There’s no reason why this should prevent you from having the upper tier behind the goal - which is what Mansfield, Tranmere, Port Vale and Carlisle had last season. So providing you can sell the additional 700 or so in the upper tier, you should be allocated around 1,900 in total - if not 2,750+ if the lower seats are reinstalled by next Saturday.

We’ve had this before, but if you request for another 200 seats for example, we will refuse you because it isn’t financially viable to open unless you’re selling an additional 700-800.

I seem to remember you asked us for the money upfront for the 700, which makes sense from your perspective - which sold in about 2 hours.

Our website is saying those seats are available for home fans?
