Should be a routine home win, we've played very poorly in recent games, and Northamptom have been one of the form teams in the last few months.

I seen earlier that Curle was saying Northampton's weakness was their defence, yet they've only conceded 1 in their last 6 home games :ffs:

I think most of our fans would take another point here, but I think we'll lose by the odd goal.

Team I'd go with:
Hanford
Young* - O'Hanlon - Troy** - Grainger
CMW - Kennedy
Amoo - Potts - Dempsey
Wyke

*he's shit but don't think Curle will bring another right back in
**providing he is fit enough

Another win is needed, and I think we should win. Hope Holmes isn't badly injured too.

I wish he'd being Gillies back in...

Might be worth giving Asamoah a run out, bound to score surely?

Our defence earlier in the season was weak. But since injuries have cleared in the new year they have been solid! Injuries are affecting us now, ricky Holmes is out possibly for weeks and Richards is out for 6 weeks. Hoping the rest of the squad step up. That being said still see a home win, would be 7th in a row!

Gillies? Why?
He was fucking shit against Exeter, he was blowing out of his arse after about 10 minutes. Rigg ended up having to defend his position while he got his breathe back.

The 2 teams were well matched in December. But since then Northampton have improved a lot and look like playoff contenders, where Carlisle have regressed and are now the worst team in this league and will no doubt finish bottom.

I reckon we'll ride our luck and keep it to a respectable 2-0. One goal in each half for the home team.

3-1, we've shown no signs of being anywhere near good enough to beat any team with any sort of form recently. Hope Wyke gets a goal, its been a couple of games now.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
While I think this game seems unlikely in terms of getting something I may well go with that stupid football logic that I find always seems to happen.

what I mean is the logic that we go nearly a 50 year record on number of games without a draw then finally get one and having not had a draw for 29 games it'll be usual of football you go on a run of 2-3 draws.

so a draw.

Seems sound enough logically and I certainly wouldn't complain about one. A completely unlikely scorer for us (which would be Young)

I still find it funny Keith Curle reckons our defence is the problem. 1 conceded in 6 at home.

He probably can't find anything else, so is focusing on that 1 goal as a negative.

Tranmere has some late pressure as you would expect, but Fon Williams made several great saves and we hit the bar, hardly the close encourter he percieved it to be!

He said you didn't have it all your own way, so that ties in with hitting the bar etc. Hitting the bar is what I'd call not having it your own way, it's missing the target.

I am assuming Curle is basing it on our comedy defending at Brunton Park. Only one player Horwood from back 4 will feature tonight.

Can't even remember what the goals were like that day to be honest.

Fuck. I hadn't realised how fast Carlisle were descending.

Do you guys not have some kind of emergency brake or parachute ready to deploy? You're rapidly running out of league.

My fucking god, that starting 11 :(

We drop our 2 strikers that have actually scored goals recently, for a player who hasn't scored since December.

No Archibald-Henville, no Meppen-Walter. So the defence is a square pegs in round holes mess.

This could be 6 or 7 tonight.

Looking at that team, I can't see us getting anything out of this. Rigg and Wyke on the bench, Grainger at centre back. Positive is Griffith is benched, and Potts is back into central midfield.
3-0 Northampton

Nothing like optimism in my 100th post...

Well... this could either go very well and it turns out Curle was referring in his pre-match discussion to some hidden flaw in Northampton's defense that even they haven't noticed and Asamoah is perfectly designed to exploit, and we'll win 12-0... or this could go disastrously wrong and we'll lose 12-0.

Anyone wondering why we hardly ever draw games?

We have deployed Tranmere in an attempt to break our fall, it's just fingers crossed time now.

I just hope Curle is wearing an oxygen mask if he's at the controls. You're in serious danger of getting the bends.

Unbelievable. What a win for us, and not a lucky one either. Well done Keith Curle, well done to the starting team and well done to the subs who made such an impact.

I guarantee if Northampton had LOST 6 home games in a row, we'd have been beaten tonight.

Typical Carlisle. We have to follow this result up and win our home game at the weekend.
