And there was me thinking it was just the stewards who had to 'stand down' from phase 3.

An odd approach making it public that you've asked a manager to resign...essentially putting pressure on him to quit and not take the pay-off he'd get if you sacked him. Sure he'd prefer a nice pay-off, as would anyone I imagine!

Edit: he's been sacked

Good job he was amazing for us and wasn't sh*te at all, eh G.B ?
The mind-boggling this is, is that he'll walk straight in to another PL job in the new year.

Is Keith Millen going to be caretaker?

Certain defeat now for us on Monday.

Pardew to Palace is probably Newcastle's best piece of business for years before Rafa turned up.

Good.

Tosser.

Although, whoever comes in is bound to keep them up.

It took longer than I expected for Palace to pull the trigger. Thought Hull would've been the final nail for him. Reckon they have a half decent squad and a decent manager can keep them up

I can understand them getting rid as there are better managers out there willing to manage a stable(ish) PL side, but I don't think he would've taken them down.

Incredibly I think he only lost 21 matches in a calendar year for us as opposed to 22 with Palace. Almost impressive.

I almost feel bad for him as he was so close to beating their 54 year old record of games without a win and becoming a part of footballing history. Luckily he has about 15 other record for being shite at his job so it's not all bad I suppose, he's left his mark on the game at least.

All I can say is that G.B and Skinner were justified in their criticisms of this man and his management.

Well done, lads.

Thank you Steven mate. A gentleman as always. Skinner, All the best for the future mate. Decent timing to cure your clubs cancer with January around the corner. Hope you manage to stay up despite the damage done.

Is it true he refused to resign so he could milk "his club" for every penny of compensation possible? The muggy c*** should be the one paying Palace imo and that.

I don't really get things wrong tbf

Massively relieved though to be quite frank, Parish is always calling the correct calls, there can't be many better chairmen than him.

Would be a bit harsh to deem it a bad appointment without hindsight! He started off well and his whole tenure hasn't been disastrous, the guy just can't do anything but ride on good momentum.

The saddest thing about all this is we never did get to speak to him in March :(

Uncomfortable for some to realise but Pardew evidently leaves them where he took them over, i.e. hovering in the lower reaches midway through a season.

Squad seems to be much better than what he took over, but, like many of his past spells, got in a bad funk after previously leading them through an excellent spell, but this ones lasted longest so cant blame the chairman for cutting the cord.

Clearly are teams worse than them though, so I wouldnt have put money on them being relegated, but despite his ego Pardew proves again he's an average manager.

For a second there i thought that was Hoggle from Labyrinth...

...

If it's Allardyce to replace him, hes lucked into taking over a team that if theory will allow him to play how he wants what with Benteke upfront. Iirc he got on well with Tomkins as well after the aborted use of him as a defensive midfielder.

A former England manager taking over from a future England manager, both being of impeccable character. Great decision by Palace.
