Expect around 1000 tonight for the Brighton game a lot of our fans still not attending in this competition although we do have the sloppies in our group that could bring a few knuckle draggers out for a punch up.

Brilliantly comical game here v Arsenal. Gerry Cottle stuff. We’ve scored from an OG and their keeper getting tackled on the line. Arsenal have missed some absolute sitters due to sensationally shit defending. It’s so bad it’s very entertaining. I know it’s our 17 year old against theirs but surely there has to be some level of competency. Totally chaotic.

That still doesn't make it okay Dan.

I thought no one cared about the football in this sack of shit?

Just had to check that we aren’t playing tonight. Thankfully not although maybe we were scheduled to play but have had it moved due to our 142 injures

It’s on iPTV so it’s free. Glad I decided to watch it. It’s football, but not as we know it.

I still find it incredulous that any fan of a lower league football club would consider watching this competition. No club, whether it be Bolton or Harrogate should have to play the ‘youth’ team of another club in a competitive game. Insulting and wrong on every level

Got my tickets for my first visit to you lot next week. Any pointers? Drink etc
Depends on what you like, the market place is good after 12, the pub attached to the premier Inn near the ground is fine for away fans, to be honest there isn’t many places you wouldn’t be welcome. Fan park and away end are always complemented by away fans too. The bonus being the team will roll over and let you take 3 points back with you

Well, we played our youth team as well essentially. Arsenal had 2 full internationals playing!

I just went and looked up who we have in this. Widdled on the firework of local teams.

Charlton & Sutton fair enough but Villa u21s.

I dont boycott it as such I just can't be bothered to go. Seeing as we have never got out of the group stage I think the same can be said about our players.

We played United U21's last season - their team included Garnacho and Pillestri - so it is an opportunity for local fans of "big" clubs to come and see them before they are "famous" and also hopefully get some of them fans to come back and watch their local team more regularly - some may even see the light eventually and their local club becomes their main club....

5000 at Stockport last night, with almost 4000 home fans. Hang your heads in shame Hatters.

Don’t know who we have in our group or when we are playing.
Couldn’t give a flying fart about this abortion of a competition.

Some of the comments on here re this competition are truly ridiculous. Our game last night was an exercise in giving valuable minutes to those in the first team squad coming back from injury and/or on the bench last weekend plus giving added experience to our youth team. Considering there is no longer a combination league and we got through the game with no injuries I'd say it was a worthwhile evening. I'd suggest that the comments from those people that say they will boycott this competition are from the same people that dont attend league games and prefer to watch on IFollow.

Re your first sentence. I'm sure you do!
Not that he needs me to stick up for him but why are you sure he would know.

I dont boycott it and I had to look up who and when we are playing after seeing this thread.

I can understand that near the finals people can get a bit excited about it but paying to see two teams of kids and reserves who hardly give a damn about the result seems like a waste to me.

A better use is to let the other half know there's a game on and get credit in the bank by saying I'd rather spend the time with them.

You can have the EFL competition, very much in favour of it. Gives players coming back from injury a chance to get closer to being match fit, gives youngsters an opportunity to step up BUT playing Fulham/Chelsea/Man City’s youth team is, and will remain, wrong.
I travel the country watching my team, probably 80% of away games but would never support the competition in its current guise!

By supporting this competition in its current guise you are supporting the PL’s involvement in an EFL competition by stating it’s for the development of their U23’s yet half the time the EFL clubs have the younger squad, it also only strengthens their argument for PL teams to have B teams in the EFL. Personally I’d rather my Club have a reserve side for allowing players to get game time and boycott this charade. No, I have no idea who we are playing, I won’t go or watch and yes I attend games, ta very much

Will probably be United fans as they posted a link on their website advertising tickets had been made available, but were actually tickets for the home end.

Not sure what is worse really.. Anyway watched it on a dodgy stream and probably the worst refereeing performance I've seen in a while. Do these refs actually work in the league as well, because god help us if he does.

Talking of tinpot, United fans singing 'que sera que sera...we're going to wembley' when 1-0 up in the tinpot cup.

That's exactly why we have a B team who can arrange their own fixtures. Sod this nonsense of a competition.

Wrong Dirk.
I do not and will not support this competition.
I am a season ticket holder and have followed my club from Carlisle to Plymouth.

Re your first sentence. I'm sure you do!
Wrong again Dirk.
I genuinely don’t know because I couldn’t care less.
This used to be a competition for football league teams, the clue’s in the name (EFL Cup), that offered a day out at Wembley for the finalists.
A decent and worthwhile competition in my humble opinion.
It was hijacked by the poxy premier league and sold down the river by some, not all, greedy chairmen of EFL clubs.
In its current format it is a fucking joke.
If some want to support it then that’s fine as we are all entitled to our opinions, but do not make the mistake of thinking those of us that despise it are plastics who only watch on the telly.
You could not be more wrong.
