As it says in the title.
Think Wycombe will best us. 2-1.
Saying that, if we play like we did on Thursday we will make it close.
I just want to see us play well and not blow it like the JPT final.

So far we've sold 12,000 tickets with 1 day of general sale and 2 of season ticket only. We have an allocation of 30k, which we exceeded last time. Reckon we'll have 25k-ish this time.

Believe Wycombe have sold 7,500 so far.

Want Southend to go up.

Mainly because I want to see Wycombe's reaction to welcoming the Bristol Rovers "knuckle draggers" and "hooligans" next season.:lol::lol:

Also, Southend are a decent club.

I can't see us taking more than 15,000 if that. Our biggest gate in recent-ish times was 19,500 but that was vs Liverpool in the FA Cup semi in 2001, which is arguably ;) more glamorous opposition - although Villa Park (the venue for that day) is clearly more of a bitch to get to than Wembley, there's a direct train line from Wycombe to there.

I've been to a lower league game at Wembley, Wrexham v Grimsby in the JPT with a Wxm mate, and to be honest I thought it felt a bit shit rattling round in all those empty seats, I'd much rather it was at a Prem ground with a realistic capacity for the numbers that are likely to attend.

re. Bristol Rovers, I don't really care that much about them to be honest, results are results and they very nearly went up automatically, so fair enough. They do have perhaps more of a percentage of mongs than other clubs but still the vast majority of their fans are just normal supporters - many of whom were embarrassed by all the wacky bullshit their board tried to pull when they got relegated. I don't really like it when WW fans spout too much anti-BRFC stuff as it sounds like we're trying too hard to start a rivalry.

No idea what the result will be, we got the better of Sarfend on aggregate in the league but that means precisely shit all on the day. We have some momentum though and, doubts about the fitness of our 1st choice goalie aside, we're pretty much at full strength squad-wise so bring it on.

Think Saaarfend will win, Not really fussed who goes up. Southend is a better away day but Wycombe must have spent 90% of this season in the top 3. Will be an interesting game.

Should be a good game, I'd prefer Southend to win but I wouldn't mind Wycombe being promoted after the season they've had.

Plus, if Southend fail to get promoted, they'll probably be more of a threat next season than Wycombe, in my opinion.

Well, if you want an omen, Darrell Clark used to play for Pools and took up Rovers , Phil Brown used to play for Pools, so there you have it, hang on though , rovers play in quaters , so do Wycombe, and Grimsby is by the sea !

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
The correct final between the 2 best teams who didn't go up, plus both looked excellent in their semi's..............tough match to call.

On one hand I would say Wycombe because I think Southend from what I have seen while nice to watch piddle about far too much and that could cost them dearly in a one off match if they try and skillfully walk the ball in, you won't get chances here to mess them about like you did vs Stevenage.

on other hand I said Wycombe may go up due to going into this with no pressure and nothing to lose, but really for the first time in the entire season Wycombe have this pressure factor............can they handle it, suddenly a season of doing well regardless has a win or failure tag to it, if they handle the pressure I think they will win.

1-0 Barry Corr winner in 85th min from a counter attack led by Myles Weston who has just come on as a sub. In the past couple of games when Weston come on he has looked the best he has all season he's pace against tired defenders legs caused Stevenage problems so much he actually looked good. He could be vital at the end of the game which in no doubt will be very, very tight.

I think Barry Corr usually bags against us so Southend at least have to score 1, depends how we counter that.

We're at 9,500 sold so far, not great but still a few days to go.

Agree with this. If Wycombe fail to go up see players like Mawson not coming back next season. Plus as I'm sure many feel Wycombes antics have grated me in our games this season.

Like Southend as a club, come on the shrimpers!

11,500 sold. Still not MAHOOSIVE but if nothing else it'll be a better gate than last year's L2 playoff final - 14000 between Fleetwood and Burton - I know it's not really a fair comparison in the sense that Wembley's obviously a harder trip for casual fans of both those clubs than it is for Southend or (especially) us.

Win or lose we've had an amazing season that not even a diehard Wycombe fan would have predicted ( I predicted mid table oblivion) If we play like we did against Plymouth we should be okay but if Southend win i'll be the first to congratulate them. If we're in League 2 next season the good thing is that most of our players are signed up until the end of next season, with Ainsworth bringing in loan players we'll do okay again. We're talking to an unnamed Premier League team this week about bring young players in from them on loan so it's all looking good right now.

I've had a little think about this and I hope Wycombe go up. Unfortunately, I can only see it kicking off if we are to play Wycombe next season, I'd rather that not be the case because - it would be a great atmosphere but bad publicity.

There's nothing "good" about having to rely on loan players to make your squad competitive. IMO.

No there isn't. They're also an easy scapegoat if things start to go wrong. However they've been an essential part of the squad this season and Ainsworth has seemed to be able to integrate them into the group to the extent where they seem to play for the team rather than just be putting themselves in the shop window.

We were lucky however that a championship side (Brentford) probably had no need of L2-quality players, even really good ones. We've definitely been stung by loan players who've done well in the past being recalled though - the first time Paul Hayes played for us was on loan, he scored 6 in 6, and Charlton (his club at the time) recalled him - only to not play him.

Do Wycombe spout anti-Rovers songs? f*** me :lol::lol:

Come on Southend for a few reasons. 1. Wycombe are a cheating, dirty club (nothing to do with our relegation). 2. I've always like Southend, proper football club. 3. Wycombe are more local. 4. I feel us and Saaaaaa'fend are together in our dislike of Sainsburys.

I'd love to go to Southend away though, never been. I love the look of Roots hall, especially the 2 tiered stand behind the goal.

I'd expect the attendance for this game to way exceed the 14,000 or whatever pathetic number it was in this fixture last year - and it will also help that both teams are situated closer to Wembley, and are simply bigger clubs.

2-1 Southend for me, although I do hope Wycombe go up, as some Gasheads are still bitter about them :ffs:

Why haven't you boys sold as quickly as you did for the JPT? I mean, this is surely a bigger occasion than that one and ok, I get that you've lost some of the novelty factor, but I thought you'd be good for near 30k.

You have 6 weeks between games in the JPT from the area final to the actual final play-offs we have 8 days that combined with the day-trippers who go only the once I think explains our poor attendance. I would of liked us to take 30k again but obviously that's not happening :(

Come on Southend, FFS win so I don't have to go to Roots Hall next season and ultimately end up with all the aggro that comes with our games with you. :bravo:

Hoping Southend win this one, they'll only be in the same position next season if they don't so we may as well get rid of them.

12,500 sold - tickets go off online sale tomorrow but you can still pay on the day. Hopefully we can get to 15,000 but I suppose we've already sold more than 3 times our average home gate, so I guess that's OK.
