More than we took the day we got relegated, that's a grand start!

Easily will take four figures irrespective of the bank holiday and people being here there and everywhere. For quite a few, this'll be their only away game of the season so I expect we'll take the usual 1200-1400.

Hoping Ng doesn't walk straight back into the team, certainly looked the weak link in the team when hrs played. Apart from that position I'm fairly happy with our 1st team, and with Jones and Ray to come back in its only getting stronger. I'm guessing Bowery might drop back to the bench ad can't see Dave starting him, Daggers and Porter away from home.

I'm concerned Artell is going to show the same faith in Ng that Davis showed in Ollie Turton...

RB is the only problem area in our squad, signing one means Ng and Nolan (and even Brad Walker) can be versatile backups for CB and Fullback. A natural RB would give us the balance we need all across the park. I'm so surprised Artell hasn't even bothered to recruit one and we've only got a week to get one snapped up.

Either way, we won't have one for Vale. Our best hope is Bakayogo and Pickering (or even Cooper) at wing backs with us playing 3 centre halves. I wouldn't have Perry Ng starting in this game at all. He got sent off cheaply vs Newport and this isn't the game at all to ease him back into because another undisciplined performance could sell us down the river.

If Vale beat us by attacking us down our right hand side and pummel us on that flank all game, Artell will have no option but to sign an RB before the Grimsby game. I do think a loanee will come in next week for that position but any natural RB is surely an improvement on playing our own out of position there...

Unless we sign an attacking midfielder in time (Worrall if it goes through) then we will look to attack the wings.. mainly because Brown has signed 4 already! Whitfield and Harness I expect unless Montano is fit. If we get Worrall over the line then:

Harness - Tonge - Worrall - Whitfield would be happy with that midfield and may sort the major issue we've had this season.

I'm more confident of picking up something from this game now Worrall has signed.

Huge boost and massively needed. Just get a keeper or Lainton recovers and things will look much much better.

Reports I've seen saying he's a winger, which is it?

I always thought Worrall was a winger, sure he was when he was at Bury anyway.

Been alot of rumors coming out of our club that somethings about to happen, weather it's regarding Dario, a signing or a departure no one seems to know. Been a few rumours of James Jones to Preston today.

James Jones to Preston was started by a lad who doesn't even/barely goes anymore just to see who'd take the bait like they did with Cooper and Garratt rumours. No chance on Earth of that happening in the next week or so for a variety of reasons.

My guess is it's Dario-related and the club want to announce it tomorrow, especially after our PA guy tweeted about "journos sweating" this week. If so, I can't wait for Ollie Holt and Dan Roan to issue their grovelling apologies.

It certainly won't be a player sale, though Cooper being sold might happen next week, that I can believe somewhat.

I so, SO hope this is true. One big chorus of Dario Gradi - Football Genius on Saturday. For the entire 90 mins.

lol @ Holt and Roan apologies. Absolute scum of the earth fuck wits who will blank the news. I hope the club ban those c*** from ever stepping foot on club property again.

If expect Crewe to win 1 because Ben Garratt is a better keeper than Sam Hornby and 2 they have 2 goalscoring strikers in porter and dagnall give them a chance and they score give our strikers a chance score and they pull a hamstring. We cant expect pope score many 1 because he is an ageing striker now 2 because he aint been getting the service and 3 because apart from 1 season 5 years ago he ain't been a goalscorer. Our best bet for a goal will be from either Dan Turner if he plays or Anthony Kay from defence.

Haven't we scored more goals than Crewe?

I'd imagine it'd be Worrall on the left wing with Whitfield playing in the hole behind the striker(s). Hopefully, anyway.

Huh, turns out Jones to Preston wasn't a bad shout to be fair. Move to a Championship club is off for now, due to his injury, which doesn't surprise me. He injury is a huge concern in my eyes. Had an operation at the same time as Bowery, seemed to recover in the initial month time frame, then felt more pain, had an injection and now he's another 2 months away from fitness? Can see why a team wouldn't want to pay 6 figured for a player that might not feature until November.

Would have been the strangest move since James Bailey to Derby.

Probably the least anticipated Crewe v Vale game to date. Usually this thread would be 5 pages long. These 'derby' games are usually a lot better when there is more at stake or is heated up in some way.

Too early in the season, Crewe are not on a dire run as per most recent meetings and although a poor start by our standards we've got points possibly. Was it ever feisty before THAT dive and Dario and Adams outburst after... followed by the follow on the next meeting when Gary Roberts went flying in the box to win us the next tie?

Never was feisty till the Vale Park fixture in 2009-10 when we handed you a bad loss thanks to Donaldson diving. My first away was Vale in 2002 and there was no bother at all!

Think it reached its peak in 2011 when we were both going for promotion and it all kicked off in the town centre and at Wickes when we won 2-1. Since then barring the season you went into admin it's often been us on a dire run and the games have lost that edge a bit since.

Yeah that started it then Adams and Gradi clashing in the media kind of blew it up a bit.

What I will say is they are usually close games with a bit of drama which keeps it interesting.

I think both sets of fans have had the stuffing knocked out of them recently. Us under Davies were strangled to death, things are now picking up a bit but I think there is still plenty of progress required by the club on and off the pitch to win back a lot fans who were regulars. As for yourselves, you have just suffered relegation, a manager still finding his feet but worse of all you have that clown Smurthwaite still involved.

To be honest Smurf has virtually nothing to do with us now bar owning it. He did an interview saying he is shocked at how easy it is to not bother with it and find the scores on BBC. The fella running it Colin Garlick ex CEO of a few clubs has been a breath of fresh air, improved the social media, improved the PR, inputted better structure etc.. Ideally Smurf will sell but he isn't really doing anything on a day to day basis unless a legality issue crops up that needs his input.

Even have a fan zone pre-game now outside on the away car park. Massive!

On a serious note though the actual club itself is far better off compared to last season from a day to day basis and we've sold more ST's than last season. Budget Smurf claims is 20% higher this season but Garlick suggests its on a par with last season we just need the team to gel which is the big problem. 47 players signed or loaned in 13 months tells its own story.

There is also another rumor knocking about that certain members of the press have put in a complaint against what you have mentioned regarding a club employee and the tweet, apparently the press do not like the fact that they may get some social media backlash from Alex supporters. They are fucking cowards of the highest order, they tried to discredit individuals connected to the club, as soon as it look like this may not be true they are trying to hide, fucking wankers.

They deserve all the back lash they get, they practically goaded Crewe fans at times. Oliver Holt in particular. His shit stirring tweet about Crewe fans singing DG football genius to paint fans in a bad light was as scummy as you'd expect from his paper.

Sold out of tickets again, thought to be just over 800, pay on the day should at least save us the embarrassment of a sub 1 k following.

They certainly do. Holt is a slime ball. That other arsehole Daniel Taylor also likes to stir things up. Funny how Taylor never mentions sacked former police officer Andy Woodwards anymore......
