After looking like being called off earlier due to a dispute over policing costs after intelligence over Doncaster trouble makers (apparently) the game is now set to go ahead.

Vale have had a very good home record under Page losing only 2 since September whilst Doncaster have improved recently and have a decent away record so points to a decent test.

Vale hammered Rovers at the Keepmoat with an impressive first half blitz but face a tougher ask this time around. Vale will be boosted after a rare shut out at Walsall and the line up assuming it stays the same left much positivity with a superb performance from Byron Moore in his first start in months and the new defender Inniss from Palace seeming to sure up the rear guard.

I'd like 5 points from this, Notts away and Oldham at home which would pretty much edge us to comfortably being safe needing a couple of wins from the last 12 so if we can get a point from this it would be an ok point.

Looking forward to finally seeing us go two wingers on our wide pitch and hopefully we can get some joy down there!

Same side that was impressive at Walsall so happy with that and relieved to see Ikpeazu on the bench as he usually causes us problems!

that's because some Vale stole a flag from a pub last season that was for some local football lads that died and were parading it around in the away end. That's what I've been told anyway so they've all made Vale one of their big aways

I was at Donny away and I recall it was one they grabbed stuck to netting I think. Pointless anyway, if they come here Staffs police will either maul them with dogs alarm Wolves last season or head bounce them through rear windscreens ala Barnsley fans this year! Il have no sympathy either way for any moron who travels or reacts from our lot.

Decent first half although helped by a calamitous keeping display! Donnys defence were all over the place first half. Next goal will be crucial!

Battered them twice this season! Quality performance all be it they were awful. Their keeper was dreadful, should of been sent off for handling out the box but inexplicably wasn't given.

Non league performance from a non league club with non league fans

Comprehensive victory despite the best efforts of the exceptionally wank Keith Stroud and his two cognitively challenged Linesmen. How Bywater wasn't done for handling outside of the area I'll never know.

Our first double of the season with arguably our best 2 performances of the season. I could hardly see the 2nd goal go in thanks to the heavy hail storm.
Kind of ironic that we keep back to back clean sheets when playing with 2 wingers and 2 strikers after all the terrible negative, defensive efforts Page has insisted on us playing.

Pretty much right RJM, Since the flag episode (which some older Vale fans made sure it was handed to stewards) it was always going to be well attended by our knuckle draggers, I believe the flag was in memory of of Donny fan & also a Leeds fan who frequented the Rovers from time to time depending on the opposition (he was centre stage in 1 of the 2 youtube videos involving Donny & Leicester fans the other year), decent kid to be fair away from the group mentality thing.

Chuffed for Byron Moore too, was superb and great to see him score after finding his brothers body and receiving some unsavory abuse in the aftermath on social media by some disgraceful Crewe fans I'm glad he got to enjoy that today. The roof came off when he scored and every player went to him. Two of our better performances have come against Doncaster this season. It was similar to last week in that they played keep ball well like Walsall did but it was all so slow and laboured in their own half/just inside ours that we were able to reorganise. In the two wins and clean sheets Neal hasn't had a real save to make. Inniss was transformed our defence, a beast and if only he'd been here months ago. Must get him signed until May!

Well deserved win, Doncaster only had themselves to blame. When they had the chance to run at us they just slowed the ball down and give us chance to get men behind the ball.Even at 2-0 down there was no urgency to get into the box. In the end it was an easy win and another clean sheet to boot. on to Nott County next week.

Had to laugh a Doncasters nuckle draggers who gave vale fans the fingers when they walked in at the start of the game. They soon left when the 3rd goal went in.

Their knuckle draggers reminded me of the Crewe Ultras, basically 20 or so 15 year olds in Burberry. One got off the coach with a scarf over his face! When they walked in just before kick off the Paddock just broke into "schoolboy army" chants.

they were pretty much like Walsall, pitty pattying around with no end product, lot more possesion than us without ever truly looking like scoring. Cant recall seeing a defence as shambolic, Butler to Mccombe back to Butler back to Keeper back to Mccombe then lump it 50 yards or fall over !!! bizarre footballing from the back tactics with 2 such lumbering centre halves. The keeper had a mare and ought to of been subbed to avoid further embarrasment. Overall the clean sheet pleased me more than the 3 goals but just who is going to get 6 th spot with Sheff united seemingly moving clear in 5th. One week its Oldham then Chesterfield, Donny, Rochdale etc etc, basically up for grabs as we are all as good or bad as each other , not for a minute think we have a prayer but by same token can,t see who will get it.

6th is anyone's and it's going to be an average side who takes it but we're in the mix along with 12-15 other clubs so may as well believe to a degree.

Who cares about historically? To be fair though I'll give you that one - he trolled me I trolled him back. He harassed me over several social media outlets. The man is sick to the core.

Wizard takes a HUGE bite.

Doncaster are a League Two/non league club. I remember them always being in 'Division 3' or non league. Only recently have you pushed on through the leagues. I imagine in the next few seasons you'll be back where you belong, in League 2.

I'd say they are like Crawley to a degree but have invested well enough to attract fans they didn't have before with the new stadium etc. They are a small club in terms of history and so forth but I think they will be a floating club in League One. They've overachieved in recent years but considering I recall ten years ago going to the shack of a ground they had (getting soaked in the process) and were in non league they've done well. Recall them getting pasted 8-0 a couple of times either side of being relegated to the conference? Just shows with decent investment what can be done.

Butler is a class defender at this level, they've been good since he went to Donny and already has the captaincy. However, football and passing is not his art. Hoofing, being rough, heading, tackling and the actual defending part - he's normally one of the best at this level for.

Oh come on. We have spent 3 years of our history in the 5th league - we have spent more then TEN times more of that in the second league. How on earth are we a non-league club? Come on - I think you're the one biting now. I'm fairly sure the majoirty would argue that we're a far bigger club then Port Vale who are a League Two club at heart. We're a higher League One/lower Championship club.

But we had a fair bit of history before the millions came - are you seriously comparing us to Crawley? We we're averaging 15,000 fans only five years ago - that's about 10 times more then Crawley ffs.

People said that the last time we went down from the Championship, we went straight back up winning the title. People have been predicting us to fail for years - so far they've been embarrassingly wrong.

A league two club who've spent very little time in league two bar the spell where our owners were tearing the club apart financially.

You were generally league two strugglers before your non league spell whereas we've spent nearly half a century of our history at Championship level.
