Harlow win and are up.

East Thurrock currently 3-1 up over Dulwich in the Ryman Prem PO Final - half-time.

Just seen Rushden unfortunately lost in the play off final. Hope to see them back up the leagues.

I'm considering going to Accrington (about an hour's drive) on Saturday for their game against Stevenage. Win and they are up. Other results may mean the Play-offs. I love an underdog story.

In recent seasons there have been loads of leagues failing to promote. The fact it is only 1 league this season is actually impressive. In all of those seasons extra teams haven't been promoted.

Even if they do decide to change and promote one extra team that would be Godmanchester as they finished 2nd in their league with more points per game than Alvechurch can reach.

Pure fantasy on Alvechurch's part IMO.

Full round up coming up. Apologies as life kind of got in the way and our own playoff failings probably made me less inclined to make time for this!

I see Barnstaple are up from the Western Premier! Back to back promotions for them to the Southern Division One SW to now catch up with North Devon rivals Bideford who were relegated down from the Southern Premier.

Despite Bideford's relegation it's good news for the North Devon football scene to have 2 teams in the senior sections of the National League System.

Good for us too a few more local games with Taunton staying in our league

I'm pretty sure Shildon released a statement last year already that they've no plans to go up yet from the Northern league, I think they might still be ground sharing with one of the Aucklands so having no stadium of their own might be holding them back, they'd also probably want one or two more cracks at that Northern league FA Vase trophy that every other team from the division has had a good run in.

The quality's definitely there from that division though, Darlo have been promoted back to back (I think) since getting out of it and Spennymoor have also been promoted again after finally applying for promotion last year, South Shields would be up for moving through it straight away if they can, so the ambitions still there from some clubs, Dunston and the likes though, meh maybe not so much.

Shildons ground is not up to Evo-stik standard and that is the reason they rejected promotion. Darlo have had 3 promotions in 4 seasons and Spennymoor have had 2 in 3 seasons.

Many northern league players aren't up for moving up the leagues due to time and travel commitments of higher divisions. Of the players who have the quality to go higher they are quickly hoovered up by the likes of ourselves, spennymoor and Blyth. You can start adding Shields to that list as I imagine they will be trying to climb through and out of the northern league ASAP. It does de-stabilise the divisions in terms of quality and geography but at the same time I semi understand the players view of how willing they are to do the extra travelling with their other work commitments. As a knock on effect that could mean clubs having to build new squads after promotion from the Northern league and that could send them straight back down again. Which isn't a very appealing notion.

Seems official now, reading pitchero, as the leagues have been set it means a team from Southern Premier are being reprieved. They say Histon or Bideford (I take it Bedworth are already reprieved as they were in the last relegation place) Histon surely as they finished above Bideford.

As the leagues are set, I think Bideford are in line for the reprieve as they would have taken Cinderford's place in the SW division, though lots of talk from Taunton that they have applied to the League to be promoted instead - although I can't see that being successful.

Did Cinderford not have to apply for promotion at the beginning of the season though? So surely they would have considered the consequences of actually winning promotion then?

It's very interesting, as normally the rule is that the reprieve happens in division, and that the leagues aren't set until after the AGMs, which haven't happened yet I believe.

If that's the case then Bedworth should stay up, but if they've already made moves to prepare for life in their new division I believe they are allowed to resign from the premier division/refuse the reprieve (not sure which it would be mechanically, but both are effectively the same, unless the league got bitter and made them resign all the way down...).

Yes you are perfectly correct, Cinderford had to apply for promotion (and possibly have a ground grading done during the season). In their case it was the unexpected moving on of the chairman, manager and half the players that has caused them to enter panic mode and refuse promotion.

Interestingly elsewhere there was a conversation that Stamford might get the reprieve and move Corby from NPL to SPL, but I don't think that one has any merit.

Can't blame Taunton for trying, but this kind of situation has historically always resulted in a reprieve. That said the FA are sometimes as predictable as a set of dice.

I was just thinking the other day this year had been quiet, instead of the usual AGM cup merry-go-round. Even with this one it's been relatively quiet this year. No step 5 clubs pulling out of promotion at the last min, nobody going bust. I'm sure it will be back to normal soon enough.

Stamford Reprieved - Confirmed

Due to Cinderford's decision not to take promotion to the South league premier division we have been reprieved for the 2016-17 season
We received notification from the Football Association this morning that subject to appeal from other clubs we will take our place in the Northern Premier league next season.

Stamford are saved due to having the highest points per game of a team placed 21st in a step 3 division. This was a 2 horse race rather than 3 as Farnborough have already been relegated and caused a reprieve for Burgess Hill in the Isthmian who had a better PPG.

Seems to go against what the FA have previously said about reprieves staying within leagues, but that's the decision they have made. If I was on the board at Bedworth I'd be looking at an appeal which would drag this one out somewhat.
