What was with the air raid siren before kick off?
I forgot about that! :ffs:
Horrible experience.
'Postman Pat, postman Pat, Postman Pat and his fooking black Cat'? I never thought I would see that day that that shite is played at a football ground.
Shameful Reading, hang your heads in disgrace! What's next? 'In the bastard Midnight garden' or the fookin' tellytubbies for the lard arse young uns?:fish:

Cast your voting for the most memorable champagNe cockup bristol city FC moment of 2015-16 so far!

A The reverse signing of Ryan Fredericks 2 games after he arrived.

B Freeman's meaningless sending off that cost us the Brentford game.

C Being out of the game after 12 minutes vs Reading.

D MK Dons 95th minute equaliser.

E 0-4 at half time vs Fulham.

F Capitulation at Rotherham against one of the only teams meant to be worse than us.

G Bakers needless sending off that cost the Blackburn game.

H Charltons 95th minute equaliser.

I Bidding 9million for Gray only to discover we couldnt afford his wages. Who,d have thought it?

J The ironic hat trick scored by the aformentioned gray against us in a 4-0 dicking.

This is our season so far ladies and gentlemen. Surely the most calamatous club in the football league this season barring maybe Bolton or Villa. Can't wait to see what's coming next!! A 99th minute Greg Cunningham winner for Preston following a 7-0 battering by West Brom perhaps? An injury to Kodjia that ends his season after tripping over a blade of grass? Or who fancies another failed transfer? Messi to agree term after a 1 billion bid , fly to Ashton Gate only for Steve L to check his loose change and find that we don't actually have a billion quid. Then a week later he signs for MK Dons and scores 8 goals in a 12-0 victory, all 12 of the goals coming in the 95th minute after we miss 5 open goals and 3 penalties.

I'm here all night by the way!
I
Definitely E - meant I could go home an hour earlier than planned without waiting in unlikely suspense for us to make something happening!

Oh yeah, great numbers from us but bugger me it was quiet! As for the home fans, were there any actually making any noise?

Where abouts were you mate?

Before I read comments about it on here and OTIB I thought we were pretty fucking impressive atmosphere wise considering how dire we are/were playing, also saw a few Reading fans who were impressed.

However I probably overestimated it given I was in a group of a few hundred who didn't stop all game. The volume immediately around me probably made me unaware that the other 3000 were mostly silent, although there did appear a section by the home end who were pretty vocal. Was meant to be in block 29 but realised before kick off it was gonna be shit in there so stood at the top of block 30 instead. Didn't get moved for once.

Looking from our end, I was far left next to the Reading corporate mob (R32). Don't get me wrong, when we sang it was loud but it was pretty sporadic for the numbers we had IMHO.

Ah shit, yeah I don't remember much noise from that side. For me it's just not worth it unless I'm at the back with everyone around me standing. Makes games even at the likes of Rotherham slightly enjoyable when you've got a decent amount singing various songs about Darrell Clarke wanking off dogs, even though you're 3-0 down.

You'll have to SHOUT LOUDER next time Dazza. I couldn't hear you over the corporate bollocks your club serves up! ;)
Was it just me or did they turn up 'Postman Pat' (WTF was that???) at the beginning because our fans started singing? It certainly seemed like it but Postman Pat??
No offence Dazza but Readings' match day experience is everything I despise about the modern game. I respect you for putting up with it but fuck that!! It's awful.

No offence taken cause believe me there are plenty of our fans who feel the same way. The prat on the microphone before the game and at half time rambling on with his back the boys and make some noise nonsense. As Jordan has said above what is with that air raid siren bollocks. Who at the club thought thats a good thing to play over the tannoy.

Thankfully i don't normally get in the ground until about 10 minutes before kick off so i don't have to listen to most of the pre match shit.

Much a do about nothing that - 2 and a half minutes of it is just zooming in on fans singing, and then a few handbags at the end, which is hardly surprising with the amount of people we had there, there was bound to be a few who spilt over the edge and let their emotions run wild.

FWIW - the fat fella you see in the video trying to climb over the barrier is an absolute c***. He used to sit in the east end in the 2013/14 season, and bring his missus, who clearly didn't like being stood around a load of rowdy blokes every Saturday afternoon, and just tried to sit there quietly, not a hope in hell she'd have seen any of any games what with people in the front row stood infront of her, not really sure why she was there. Anyway - it was a Tuesday night game and me and a few mates were stood a couple of rows behind them, think it was Crawley, cold night, and still to register the first win. The second goal went in quite late, and understandably everyone went nuts. One of my mates got thrown over a few rows and landed right next to the girl - he carried on celebrating despite faceplanting into the edge of the chair, and once the celebrations had died down a bit knelt down and spoke to the girl, just to apologise and to see if she was okay, that he hadn't landed on her or anything - just being polite, but the bloke turned round, stared him down and grabbed him round the neck and put him up against the segregation railing. A few people stepped in, we went over but couldn't really get close to it, and the stewards stepped in, and he was alright - but the bloke told him that if he ever seen him in this stand again he'd take it upon himself to make sure he didn't leave safely.

In honesty - he was probably pissed as owt, but he's always been a loud mouth c***. Probably the most boring anecdote you're ever likely to hear, and there may be a few City fans on here who remember the incident as quite a crowd gathered around it trying to get the c*** off of my mate. Made me laugh seeing him in the video - needs to grow the fuck up.

Don't get me started on the match day "atmosphere". High up on the list of reasons why I rarely attend home games now.

I just can't believe the club haven't received enough complaints or whatever to at least review the process. It hasn't been great for years, but since the new PA guy came in last season it has reached a whole new level.

I can only assume it is a lot of fans keeping quiet about it, because I can't imagine anyone over the age of about 5 enjoying the stuff the club is coming out with.

I know a lot of opposition fans say our home support is shit, which is probably true, but then we have a club that seems to want to go against the fans wishes rather than encourage them to create a better atmosphere. I'm not sure how deafening fans with an air raid siren will help, or playing songs designed for 3 years olds.

As home grounds and fans go, Reading have by far the worst.

Just everything about that club makes me cringe! Goal music, air raid siren, postman pat? And the chap on the tannoy encouraging the crowd to make some noise.

Fucking hate modern football.

Yea but none of that is what the fans want, we just have to put up with it.

I thought we'd turned a corner about a month ago when they stopped playing goal music after our goals for a couple of games, but it's back again.. despite getting positive comments. Though goal music is hardly an uncommon thing, I reckon most clubs have it nowadays.

Our ground isn't that bad? Just a terrible location. Put the Madejski in a similar location to Elm Park and it would be a top stadium/away day.

We don't have goal music and the day it comes back (used to be hey baby ffs) is the day I start taking headphones to games.

I went outside for a vape at half time but when I came back in, they were playing this beauty..
Now the Postman Pat thing, even though it's dreadful, does have a link ie 'Royal' mail but what on earth was Terry and June about? :eyes:

Like PNE, we did have goal music for a short time, Chelsea dagger IIRC but we soon got rid of it! Awful, just awful.

Not sure it would ever be a "top stadium". As far as bowl stadiums go it's decent, pretty steep.

I would agree, but for the club to develop we had to move. I'd dread to think where we'd have been the last 20 years without the move. League two or worse I reckon because no decent player would join a club that is banned from the top two divisions.

No you don't, if as a collective your fans were against it, all the bollocks would stop surely?
Spot on Aaron. Our supporters made it abundantly clear that we thought it was shite and it was stopped. Supporters groups don't have to sit there and put up with crap like that anymore.

One positive.
I remember when I first went to the Mad stad (the 'Lavin' game) and I was really impressed by the fan concourses and facilities they had. Ours now blows the Mad stad away so at least we've got something right.

Bring back Paul Allen. Apparantly he was sacked.
This current PA guy is a moron. He sounds like the voice over guy on Bullseye when he announces the teams. Deafening music meaning you literally cannot hear the person stood next to you, sirens before the game starts as if we are at a second world war themed day. Playing Sweet Caroline over and over again. It isn't and never will be a club song. I know a few people including myself have sent emails to the club about it but as always you get a generic response.
