agree Mr Singh was excellent. Very good ref.

We had Mr Hair Tuesday he was pretty decent.
Singh was indeed excellent, both his sons officiate at EFL level now too, although I’m not sure if either has fully reffed a game themselves yet

Mark Clattenburg was pushing his new book on BBC Breakfast this morning.

My god! What a smug, self-important little prig he was/is. Yes of course Mark - the game was always more about you than the football.

Got tattoos of the Champions league and European Championships finals he did in his arm which says it all !
Maybe he should get himself another tattoo of him only giving Dave Challinor a yellow card after he ended Martin Pringle’s career by breaking his leg.

Never displeased to see Chris Sarginson next to our name. Rarely card-happy and usually manages the game reasonably well. Tends to prefer a good telling off to reaching for his pocket. Biggest weakness is letting the game flow as he enjoys getting obvious decisions right more than playing advantage.

It was finally encouraging to get a ref who actually stood up for mansfield last week against orient after they got increasingly aggressive and desperate towards the end.

As long as the ref is fair and lets the game flow i’m happy.

Now then my old muckers in the League 2 forum, any time you might feel like moaning about your referee just be eternally grateful that you’re not having to put up with National League referees, this was just given as a yellow card:

I don't often comment on refs but Peter Wright was awful today.
Missed a stonewall for Walsall, as well as a clear handball by them in our box which thankfully didn't matter.
In fact there were other handbills which weren't called at all.
And in the last ten minutes he completely ruined any attempt at playing football by needlessly blowing up and then wanting every kick taken from a specific blade of grass.
He should just stick to writing books about spying

Ref at vale today was shit gave Leyton Orient everything
I don`t think he was all that bad but fell for some of their play acting particularly for the booking of Taylor which i don`t think he even saw.

yeah i thought he was dreadful yesterday to be honest, proctor basically wasn't allowed to challenge for a header despite them being way bigger on average.

few times i thought we were fouled and he gave it the other way entirely.

That Dover player (v Grimsby)is one of Crawley's centre backs sent out on loan while we have an injury crisis at... er...centre back.

Not sure he is rated by our manager.

Sorry Walsall and Salford fans but you have drawn the very short straw. You have the pleasure of having Trevor Kettle ruining your Saturday afternoon. You have the deepest sympathy of everybody here who has have the misfortune of suffering the useless pratt. Not to mention the relief of the rest of us knowning we haven`t got him.

Can't seem to find his name but the ref in the Crawley v Orient efl trophy game was pretty good.

A few times Crawley players went to ground to easily, a couple of times Orient players did but he just waved play on.

He maybe should've given a yellow to an Orient player right at the end for leaving a foot in but they were four up with a minute to go and it was in our half. Obviously accidental so imho rightly just told him off.

It was a long day yesterday and I`m so used to hearing the B word in the front of Kettle`s name, especially after that unbelievable penalty he gave against us at Scunthorpe (for which he later apologied not that made the slighest bit of difference) I was slightly confused. I`ve amended it now. And I hope "Brian" isn`t his brother because that would mean there are 2 of them and one is far more than enough.

Referee at Bristol Rovers, think it's Breakspear, has already booked three players, all three of them (in the opinion of our commentators) very soft.

Where do I start…Declan Bourne…

I believe he’s the same clown we had a Scunthorpe a couple of years ago when a clear foul for their winner was given and he ended up sending Worrall and one of their lads off after the final whistle.

He was diabolical.

Garrity got kicked in the face twice no foul, Pett got elbowed no foul yet waved the cards like confetti to any Vale indiscretion.

Give them a throw in for their second that was clearly the other way and a bizzare free kick for the winner when Lloyd was taken out by their lad!

Now bearing in mind he booked Vale players left, right and centre he failed to book any of theirs for goading our fans for their winner… strange that.

Second stinker he’s had with us and both times decisions influenced the outcome.

Heres this weekends selection

Bradford City v Bristol Rovers (15:00)
ANDY HAINES
Carlisle United v Tranmere Rovers (15:00)
ANDREW KITCHEN
Colchester United v Harrogate Town (15:00)
TOM REEVES
Crawley Town v Sutton United (15:00)
TOM NIELD
Exeter City v Newport County (15:00)
TREVOR KETTLE
Leyton Orient v Walsall (15:00)
OLLIE YATES
Northampton Town v Mansfield Town (15:00)
ROBERT LEWIS
Oldham Athletic v Stevenage (15:00)
REBECCA WELCH
Port Vale v Barrow (15:00)
ANDY WOOLMER
Salford City v Hartlepool United (15:00)
PETER WRIGHT
Scunthorpe United v Forest Green Rovers (15:00)
DECLAN BOURNE
Swindon Town v Rochdale (15:00)
SIMON MATHER

Don`t remember having the guy we have got at Carlisle before but whether that is a good thing I`m not too sure. There must have been a time when we had never had Carl Boyeson in charge of one of our games but we soon learnt he is a total t**t. Bradford City, Bristol Rovers, Exeter and Newport fans have my deepest sympathies. Other short straw drawers this weekend are Salford and Harltepool who get Peter Wright the guy who once threated to abandon a Play Off game at Prenton Park when a dozen paper aeroplanes were found on the pitch.

Reremnart, Andrew Kitchen was promoted to the FL list this season and wasn’t refereeing at NL level last time we played in it, so think his first Rovers game. Hope nothing to complain about!

Yep. Declan Bourne is from the Trevor Kettle school of shite refs. I don't think he got many decisions right for both sides but 2 of those against us led to goals.

I remember all too well how bad the standard is in the VNL. Worrying thing is that several from our time there, Hair, Breakspear, Backhouse, Wright and Coggins to name but a few, are now handling games in the FL. They weren`t good enough in that league so just how the hell they ended up here God only knows.

Look on the bright side. At least we've spared Janner Huxtable!
