Like the tenner you put on the Glos clubs not both finishing in the top 2, which for some reason was never added to the bet list? #coughup
Fully aware Christopher, no need to get mouthy, I am a man of my word, unlike some on here.

I will pay out once mathematically confirmed.

What do you think now Jemfy?

It's not great. 1 point from the last 3 games hasn't helped. Mid-table Bromley was a good chance for a win.

You've got 24 and you need to find your way to 46 most seasons since it became a 24 team league to have a chance of staying up. 22 points from 11 games is starting to get very difficult, but as always your season hinges on a lot of relegation 6 pointers and the need to win pretty much all of them. The list is:

Braintree (if that ever happens...)
Torquay
Halifax
Alty
Welling

It's becoming more unlikely that you'll survive, but wins in those games is 15 points and you're looking for 7 more from 6 games. You've got Lincoln who will likely be out of the playoff picture by then and Woking who are in pretty much the same position [games in hand count for a lot more at the top end], go all out and find one win from the two games. Tranmere and Dover are the games you possibly give to losses, but that depends on what happens with Dover, it might be fair to target a point against them. Then right at the death of the season you've got Southport and Barrow. It's arguable whether it's best for them to pull further clear and be safe, or go into freefall and be catchable. Either way you should go all out for the wins in both games and find at least one, possibly two.

Your route to survival is thus:
Win all 5 relegation 6 pointers
Take a win from a game against Woking or Lincoln
Take a draw from either Tranmere or Dover (probably target the latter more due to fixture congestion)
Take a win from at least one of Southport and Barrow at the end of the season.
Do these and you'll get 46+ points.

I'm not going to lie, it's not looking good, but there is a route that's perhaps optimistic with a small taste of realism.

We've got them (Welling) at home, but we've only beaten them once in 5 games.

I think you may have lost a lot of support after Saturday's faux pas.
Not arsed. In the cold light of day Mark should have given them a goal back but at the time, with all the feigning injury, throwing themselves on the floor at the slightest contact then getting in the refs face as much as possible - it felt like justice. According to the BBC stats there were 16 Guiseley fouls and 6 by Braintree - really?!! Ref fell for their box of tricks big time.

Kiddy may have had 'maybe' thoughts a few games ago but I wasn't convinced it'd ever amount to more than just a bit of form that was against the grain of their season so far. They've got no chance of pulling 10 points back in 10 games, and that's before taking into account the 2 or 3 games in hand teams above the relegation zone have.

Welling don't have a hope either.

Torquay are well placed, but I can't help thinking that this is their Kiddy moment. It'd be an incredible effort to drag themselves back into survival contention, which they nearly have, and then sustain it. As I said in another thread, they do have favourable looking fixtures, though.

It's time we just give up on this season. We've already started the re-build for next season so carry on with that, we should appoint a manager who knows the North then do what John Still did at Luton where he doesn't manage as many games for the rest of this season and gets out there and finds some players ready for next season.

Also I'm hoping Torquay survive it's not like we'll play them next season so I'd prefer to see a scummy club like Boreham Wood go down instead.

Will be most disappointed for Cheltenham if Kiddy and Torquay go down- who will be their local Derby next season when they loose in the play off semi final? :2thumb:

I don't foresee Torquay having enough to stay up. Yeah ok, they've got a couple more wins, but everyone immediately above them looks stronger to me.

Torquay have half a chance but they need to get ahead of Boreham Wood and Altrincham as you expect Halifax will dig themselves out of trouble!

I'm an idiot having grouped Braintree in the relegation 6 pointers, in hindsight no idea how I messed up that badly. That said it just makes things worse, as confirmed by the loss.

Kiddy have now next to no chance, and are pretty much down. I'd be pleasantly surprised to see them turn it around, but they would need to win about 7 of their remaining 10 games as a minimum. That said I'm kind of kiddy are going down as it puts them closer to us and makes us more likely to get a trip there in the cup or trophy!

Are kiddy considering going part time? I wonder if that would be rather prudent if unpopular with the fans. Getting the best players who want to be part time in the area can be better than getting the worst full time players.

We won't be going Part-Time something I disagree with but Colin Gordon's vision http://www.kidderminstershuttle.co....Have_faith_in_my_long_term_vision/?ref=twtrec is the future and he believes we'll be back at this level in no time.

Also pretty fair to say Welling are down now too IMO. The best chance of CrazyImp giving up that money is Torquay's resurgence. Big win for them at Macc gives them a good chance by adding belief. If they were to win their game in hand (which is generally a tall order at the bottom end of the table), then they will be just 1pt behind Halifax and 2 behind Alty and safety. The win would necessitate them having better GD than at least Alty too.

Kiddy and Welling are down. We're probably evens at best to stay up.

Got to do the business away at Torquay and Kiddy and then scrape other points together.

Sickener for Kiddy and Welling.

Delighted for us to win again, however. Avoid defeat against Braintree and that'll be a positive result, I think.

Yeah. Anthing from Tuesday is a bonus. Need to be winning games against Midtable Sides so Saturday at Aldershot is a big game.

Hope you do it and I have a feeling you will have enough to finish above Boring Wood and Alty.

Certainly given ourselves a chance now. When I read some comments about Racchi and Blisset, my first thoughts were jeez what have we signed here, however these two along with Iffy Allen from Yeovil are the main reasons why our season has turned on it's head, Blisset can't seem to stop scoring.

Of course we still could go down, but at least we're fighting for it now, that's all any fans can ask for in our position.

He was excellent today. He won everything aerially and caused your two centre halves a lot of issues.

Your winger - Whitfield? - was very talented but seemed more focused on trying to rile the fans than anything.

I really hope you can turn it around as I enjoy going to Aggborough, but obviously if it's a choice between ourselves or you, it's a no brainer!

Blissett used to be very hit and miss. I think how effective depends on how well the defenders can cope with him.

Whitfield is great. He's on loan from Bournemouth and I expect he'll be on loan at a league club next season. He's not afraid to get stuck in and make a few enemies in addition to winding people up. I think as he matures he'll get better at controlling that and he should have a decent career. He apparently chose to stay and fight for our survival rather than go on loan to a team higher up when his initial spell came to an end which I think shows a good mentality. He'll probably win our player of the season awards despite being a loanee.

Shame it's all a bit late now. Even if we won all of our remaining games I reckon we'll still fall short and I certainly can't see that happening now. A mixture of poor off the field decisions, poor signings and some bad luck along the way has put us where we are. Once we got decent players who could make a difference in, realistically it was already too late.

Will be a tough game for us on Tuesday. Torquay on a bit of a roll at present same as us. Won,t be easy but would probably settle for a draw right now. Will be there with a few other die hard IRON fans.

Yeh I reckon that'll be the case - I certainly don't expect him to continue scoring at this regularity! Fair point about Whitfield. I think we're in a similar position regarding play of the season as Nathan Smith has been absolutely superb this season, generally. Obviously there will be games where younger players struggle a bit but he is the clear standout for my vote, and I imagine lots of others, right now.

While Kiddy were awful in the first 45, they were much improved in the second - once Whitfield played in a more central role. I wonder if your manager recognised this as I think you could build a run of form together based on that second half. While you ended up with nothing today, it was a stirring comeback. 3 months ago we would have lost that match, but fortunately we're showing a bit more steeliness and character currently.

given how poor Boreham Wood sounded today, losing at home to Barrow then if they lose to us in the return match on Tuesday (weather permitting) they could be deep in the relegation battle particularly if Torquay and or Altrincham can put a run together

On basis of last few weeks its possible I guess, but its likely that it will be us (FGR) looking for a Derby next season, no Kiddy Torquay (possibly not at least) or CTFC. Guess the nearest will be Eastleigh or Solihull Its a South West void otherwise :emb:

I think we might be closer than Eastleigh - i'm pretty sure in previous seasons when the Conference have done the Christmas pairings if we didnt get Woking we got you.
